Brilliant stuff, in a world where everything is now overproduced and over compressed these types of sounds just stick out so much more for the right reasons. 98-05 was definetly the best era, there’s exceptions either side of then but that was the sweet spot.
Thanks! If you want to do covers, find the synthesia tool to play midi files. For nearly all covers I found online midi files of the originals, or sometimes just the main riff. I don't know much about controllers as I only have a standalone setup. I record these, both video and audio, with a GoPro camera. Good luck!
The keyboard is not the best, even for mini keys. I played the Jupiter Xm once, which is sturdier & faster. That said it does the trick for all covers on this channel.
Espectacular!!! Muy buen trabajo amigo, Mola mucho esa base, y los instrumentos que vas añadiendo, bravo!!! En qué programa lo haces? Fl studio? Saludos
Thanks! Since the analog synth on the JDXi is so basic I don't use presets. This song uses the saw+sub oscillators, with a very short envelope. That is really it.
So this is a true synth? Not just playing built-midi? (Want something like this, but is it better than just using a midi controller with a decent DAW? Not sure I can justify buying a synth...)
The sounds and songs are indeed built from scratch on just this device. I have a ton of fun live playing on this and my other synth. However I think a DAW is needed if you want to produce hit records. Software synths are more versatile nowadays.
@@jeroenwijering Yeah, seems like these synths are more for performance and just generally being awesome, not necessarily anything you can't do in a DAW with a midi controller. (Not to downplay them too much, because real synths are cool, especially the old school ones ha.)
Once again a fantastic showcase of the power of the JDXi… needs only the right person to use it.
I wish this synth existed when I was twelve. Seems so much fun and perfect for 90's stuff. You nailed it!
Same here! The JDXi just does everything in one little box. And it shines at eurodance (minus the rap parts) 😉

Awesome cover! Thanks! Love this Track!

Very good job 👍
Прям бомба!
Super 👍👍
really amazing performance my friend!!! I was encouraged to also buy a controller and start some videos hahaha, can you give me some tips?

Great cover mate, I just bought a jd xi and am learning my way around it, I only wish it could sequence 8 or 16 bars.
Thanks! Note you can fake 8 bars by setting the tempo half speed and the division on 32nd. This cover does that too.
Awesome
wow
なんか矢野さんがいるとあの時代に戻ったキモチになるよね❗
さすがにピョンピョン跳ねてないけど、矢野さんもいて成立する感がある。
Verry good 👍
Super
Sound is great.but the miniature keyboard,is it easy to play?

Thanks! All programming is on the JDXi, no computer needed.
@@jeroenwijering ok Fantástic 👋
So besides drums this song is made up of only 4-5sounds?! Very interesting to csee how full it can sound with so few instruments.
I think I counted only 4 instruments:
- Bass
- Lead synth
- Pad Synth
- Higher pad synth
It is just these indeed, the lead, bass and 2 lines on the same pad. Don't need many layers to get relatively close to the originals!
@@jeroenwijering thanks for the explaining. Very inspiring

Love this video! Can you share what preset you used for the bass?

@ Thanks a bunch!! One of my favourite tunes! That bass is pretty damn spot on. So are the saws detuned or anything? Or just two saw waves, and a sub?
Great. Better than Korg M1👍
Such a small instrument, such big capabilities.

👍🏻👍🏻🔥🔥⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🌶️🌶️
Huge Culture Beat fan ... the bass they use is an FM bass, which can't really be made with a Roland synth. Lead sounds good though!
Thanks!
I really enjoyed the JD-Xi, but that keybed. I just couldn’t.
Yea, you have to be real tender with it
Its only a sound trigger not meant for serious playing
The share snike
Oh my, once again this is stuff to attract copyright hunters. :)
The Lead Synth sounds like the Original. Maybe Torsten Fenslau used the Roland JD Xi🤔
Maybe 😉. Though the massive amount of delay seemed to do the trick. Works on any detuned saw!

How do you rebuild the lead voice exactly?
It is really a detuned saw, but the trick is adding a ton of tempo synced delay. That gets the characteristic Culture Beat sound.
