If I want to put vynil tiles on existing floor tiles, do I have to fill up the grout lines?
Not if you are installing a floating floor with interlocking vinyl tiles.

What was the total cost for that room?
An average room that is 12x12= 144sq ft and tile at $2.39 per sq ft is approx $350. Hope this helps
