Bro Funtime fox’s hallway on black light mode made my heart pounding even when I had been sensitized for the entire game to not be scary
They probably just wanted a cool character that appears occasionally, and a less as cool but more mysterious rabbit lady that only appears thrice
@@Cosmicdev58 with all due respect, as much as I like the series, I'm not so sure I'd say they had much quality as they went on. Sure, they told interesting stories, but they were repetitive and, as you got used to them, they got less scary (with a couple of exceptions like 4 because it's literal nightmare fuel and, for me personally, 2 always spooked me... probably because of how godawful Withered Bonnie looked (in a good way).
Not to mention that SB isn't the first game to not be all that scary. FNaF World being the intentional one and UCN probably being less intentional (but I can't imagine anyone finding that one all that scary).
The truth of the matter is, though it was a dumpster fire upon release, I don't think it was intended to be a cash grab. I think there were just several mis-steps along the way. Mainly the fact that it felt rushed and additionally the fact that the scale of the game is a little big for such a small studio.
Also, needing to make it "not scary" wouldn't have been necessary. Already popular with kids and youtubers alike (it being popular with youtubers is already a massive plus for marketing). One of the most popular "horror" series out there (and I feel like looking back on the games, the games themselves, while technically "horror" aren't that scary, but rather the story behind them is).
TL;DR: I get the point you're trying to make, but I doubt Steel Wool would be malicious enough to try and make a cash grab while forsaking quality
@@trickytreyperfected1482 UCN not being scary makes sense because it's supposed to be like William's hell where he gets tortured by like all the souls that died because of him (though SB kinda ruins it because he comes back in it), and he knows all of the animatronics and is a lot older than the main protagonist of the other games
@@gameworldjt I get that Afton is like the "big bad" of the series, but I feel like they really dropped the ball by making him the villain after he's supposed to be dead. That fight should have been Vanny. Alternatively, maybe they could have worked a way into making Monty a mastermind behind everything since he's the one that replaced Bonnie. That second one... kind of a dumb idea lol, but it would be interesting. They could have even continued the glitchtrap story (especially since Vanny ties into that... like, they could have explored her story and how it plays into Glitchtrap).
I don't know what the FNaF obsession is with making the same character the villain every single game. THE BLOB would have been a more compelling villain.

I just LOVE how spiff cannot control his ADHD enough to listen to the instructions to Repair but MF will rerun the same 5 minutes of a game hundreds of times to get a perfect speed run.
speedrunning involves actually moving the character, listening to instructions is much less dynamic

This game was my favorite because it turned the not-so-scary FNAF games into somewhat terrifying experiences

@@gliscorpropagandaaccount1764 From gameplay I’ve seen, it’s significantly worse, especially the Switch and Mobile ports. The game and jump scares were designed specifically for VR, so when you’re playing in normal mode, everything looks and feels janky.
@@BowlingLoverLC Not to mention half of the levels are gone. You only have Mangle vent repair, parts and service foxy is gone, Fredbear,Funtime Freddy, and Nightmarrjone are gone, and dark rooms just doesn’t exist.
I loved the part in “Help Wanted” where this guy is sleeping in his bed with a flashlight, then this monster comes in and then says “it’s tentacle time” then tentacles all over the place
I loved the part in my comment where i say "this comment is unoriginal time" and then 50 more guys would unoriginate me over the place if i didn't make the comment in Morbi time baby!

To be fair the instructions in Fnaf games can be so inaccurate that it hurts to listen. *Cough* *play dead* *phone guy*

What I love about Help Wanted is that it actually really helps me visualize what this location is supposed to look like. When I play the regular games, I struggle to figure out how all the hallways connect and where everyone is supposed to be, but seeing them move from place to place in VR makes it all make sense.
Also, being able to turn around and watch Springtrap crawl up the vent to kill you in FNAF3 is legitimately very terrifying. If you see him in that vent beside you, there's no hope left. He's going to reach you and he's going to kill you, and there's nothing you can do but sit there and wait. It makes me exceedingly anxious.
fr though springtrap has always been the one that scared me the most and seeing him physically crawl towards you is a huge NOPE from me. I have to look away sometimes.

This video has confirmed to me that this man has steel balls. I’ve never seen anyone just screw around with the animatronic repair mini game thingies like that before. It’s hilarious, but also kind of impressive remembering that he is in VR.
I think he just straight-up tuned the instructions out because he’s used to not listening to SB
So in case anyone is wondering, if you step outside of the office in fnaf 1 it will immediately trigger foxy, no matter what state he is in, so if the door is closed it will just act like normal

Getting Springtrap to read the chat is one of the most adorable things Spiff ever did on this channel.
Honestly him looking out the left door and seeing Foxy run down the hall was an absolute jumpscare for me, I'm in shock he was able to pull back and close the door so fast right before Foxy got to the door lol
I imagine that, at 39:07, Springtrap reading the "springtrap onlyfans" message in chat is what compelled him to kill.

As a Canadian myself, it’s funny how some of the cities in Canada are older than Canada itself. A few years ago I remember a city I live near by celebrating its 360 birthday because it’s just been around that long.
It’s still crazy that fnaf 1 was going to be the last game Scott ever made. And now fnaf has become a staple of so many lives with multiple books, 10 games, and hundreds of thousands of merchandise. It’s crazy that this whole thing started from one dude

@@elimanic7925 Yeah but not all VR games have a height adjustment function, it's especially annoying in for example pavlov when I can't pick up the gun I accidentally dropped because I'm too tall and can't reach it when it's on the ground, even if I lay down

I have always loved challenge runs and the SB run videos were what introduced you to me (and also many else) and they were probably the most enjoyment i have had watching youtube this year. So pretty recently I played this through compeletly and I just gotta say a couple of things. Fnaf 2 was by far the easiest Fnaf related thing I have ever played. It was even easier than the animatronic repairs. Even on the final night I was barely paying attention to the game and I still beat it.
However the hardest to me was the Fnaf 3 final night. The only way I managed to beat it was by getting springtrap bugged so he never showed up on cameras and I won by that. Couldn't have done it any other way.
Yeah FNAF 2 VR really gets ruined by the fact they cant stop you from winding the music box whenever you like. So it just becomes you holding the mask in one hand, mashing the wind button in the other, and occasionally turning the light on to check for foxy.
@@bubbatown7714 They also removed the withered animatronics, Golden Freddy, and Mangle now is a generic Freddy mask character rather than the one who sticks in the office if let in, like Freddy in 1.
@@memememe609 The withered animatronics are there! If you pull that lever on the box thing to the left of the menu (?) and enter nightmare mode, if you have beaten the normal mode and night 5, then you're able to play with the withereds! To be fair, its pretty lame, but they are still in the game!

Also friendly reminder the Withereds didn't even exist at launch, and FNaF2 Foxy used the FNaF1 model
@@memememe609 I completely agree! It still sucks. Especially because of how you don't play with any of the other animatronics, just the withereds! Like, they don't even try to make FNAF 2 hard. And also, I actually didn't even know they used the FNAF 1 model! (It was pretty hard to get jump scared by him, so I never noticed)

Also I would absolutely play a FNaF game that was just the repair sections from this game. No idea why I just think that would be satisfying, could just be my lack of fear of animatronics talking though (I've never met one in real life so they mostly all look like big stuffed animals to me).
I believe *most* of us have not in fact, met FNAF animatronics in real life. Thank god for that honestly.

PLEASEE make a part 2! It's super fun to see you play, and as someone who doesn't have access to the fnaf games myself it's nice to see it through someone just messing around and having fun as opposed to someone doing a serious playthrough
Your OVR overlay, the one that had the twitch chat, has an addon specifically for twitch that allows you to see chat and click on it without messing everything up

Tips for future VR Streams:
1: Buy a 20,000MAH Battery pack and plug that into the quest for expanded battery. It may not look like it's doing much in the oculus menu, but it increases your time from 1.5-2hours to 4-7hours!
2: As for the lag, it's kinda a thing that happens, no matter the PC unfortunately
I would say use a link cable, but good luck with that tbh. Power delivery and stability isn't a Quest 2 strongsuit
3: Place stuff on your carpet that's small yet tactical to serve as points where it's the edge of your reach before you hit something! Just incase you get too involved in the VR!
4: Don't punch a wall!
EDIT: to secure the battery pack, get a long enough cord and put it in your pocket! And run the cord in a way to keep it tight to your body so you don't get stuck in it, but still loose enough to keep your movement free!
i think the 4th one may be too specif. some may say even r/oddlyspecific.

What 20,000MAH battery pack should I go for? The ones I saw were said to be rather heavy, and wouldn't work very well to be plugged in to an Oculus 2.

36:53 reminds me of when I would make nachos. I would dump a bunch of chips on a plate, throw shredded cheese on it, and toss it in the microwave. Then I would peel all of the chips off so there was only cheese. My brother hated this because “the cheese clump is vial”. Anyway, I was sitting near him and showed him the cheese before eating it. The cheese was super crunchy for whatever reason and I watched him absolutely die inside.

Ayy, finally we got a video format of these streams. A lot of goofy things happened(which is expected now I guess lol) enjoy the edited/scuffed version of the video to those who didn't catch the streams
I've had so many problems with the Oculus Link. One time I recorded myself playing all of a game and OBS was on top of the game the entire time. Turns out the USB port on my PC was malfunctioning, so I moved it to another USB 3 port and it doesn't disconnect constantly. I have not had an opportunity to record it.
