Brilliant shots and journey! We've just come back from kayaking in Cornwall, but I think you've found one of the best spots there! We stayed in looe. Need to look up St Agnes for next year!
Fantastic. I've lived in Cornwall for >20 years but have only bought kayaks for my wife and I this year inspired by your tremendous vids. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to watching the next leg.
Another great vid Frank. Been fishing this summer around the Portpatrick area. You should have a trip up there, Plenty of caves.keep up the good work Stewart
I know each day must take a huge amount of effort to produce & edit, but keep them coming Frank. Superb footage, really inspiring stuff, so a big thank you. Cheers.
what a treat of a film, really enjoyed it and thanks for sharing. I'm new to kayaking and only ventured out onto my local river so far. I'll try and venture out a little further afield in salt water hopefully at some point. Thanks again.
Hi Frank you talk about off grid .I cant agree more ive been off grid for 13 years, Ha and have no plans to go back on it. Keep up the good work Stewart
Great video; I've lived on this coast most of my life and never knew some of those caves were there! Inspired me to pull my finger out and get a kayak! At the end you were wondering about the man-made tunnels with pitprops and all, and where the water was coming from. They are "adits", drainage channels from the mines up on the cliffs.
Nice one Paul, for solving that little mystery about the caves. The lack of swell was the key to exploring all the caves here. They are fantastic, and we were spoiled rotten with the caves, leaving out some good ones, because of the previous quality ones, already explored. Just wish we'd had time to do the bit to Perranporth, and maybe take in the Bawden Rocks on the way back. But as it was, we landed at 10.30pm, and only just made it to the Bar for a pint, ha ha.
Bit different to the scene that I'm seeing today on the east beach at North Berwick .. carnage ..no lovely azure clear waters here . Great quality vid as usual Frank and I'm guessing a lot still to come .
They're vents for the mine shafts that run down into the cliffs.... and the waterfall is the run off that was created by sloping horizontal shafts to stop the mine flooding in lower levels.
I've been up to Portpatrick, and right to the Mull of Galloway, but this was before I'd taken up Seakayaking. A trip around the Mull to Port Logan would indeed be superb. Have you been in the Logan fish pond? It really is a unique experience, you can hand feed Cod, Plaice, and Pollack!!!
We wanted to do that bit of coast, it looked (And is) stunning, but we also wanted to do the Bawden Rocks as well...........there just aren't enough hours in the day, even in summer. Still,it gives us the perfect excuse to return sometime, and 'fill in the blanks.'
Pleased you like it, I loved every minute of it, and am glad to share it, we were truly blessed. I spent most evenings last week doing this, decide what to omit. When the video ends, we still had another hour or so on the water!!
I've just moved here...just up from Aggie at Trevellasporth.....saving my pennies for a kayak......it's just awesome here...I'm a lucky lad to have it all on my doorstep.
Well Ben, when you get settled, and get a Kayak, you can invite me and Matt down, and we'll do some serious paddlin', and you can put us up for a week, and get a crate of Stella in for Matt, ha ha.
Do tell Stewart, I'm currently waiting for delivery of my twinwall flue, for my logburner, and am considering ditching the Gas supply, and having bottled gas for my boiler, and cooker. Everybody says bottle gas is dearer, but they fail to mention standing charges, green taxes VAT on bills. We won't miss that fecking big gas bill around April time, I can tell you.
The only thing bronze in the whole scene, was that 2p piece in my day hatch, ha ha. Tried to keep the video length short as poss. but there was just SO much, as you know, and even had to end it short at the big cave, 30mins, took 780mins to upload - 13hrs. I had it loaded in Vegas, all week, and kept adding bits, and taking bits off. That was one epic day, and as you know the next one is even better. Doubt we'll ever get a spell of weather, and lack of swell, combined for 11 days - EVER.
There is no convincing to do Diablo, when the weather comes - do it, you'll not regret it, but be aware, we were SO lucky to get it so flat, the swell is normally pumping in here, some will love that, because the surf is immense, but it prevents proper exploration of many of the gullies, and caves, and scares the shit out of me, when it comes to landing on unfamiliar beaches. But many will love that challenge, I much prefer it flat, although I do like to surf occasionally, but nothing suicidal.
Teal? is that in the Dulux colour chart ?ha ha. It is really wonderful down here, there are some good videos of spearfishing on RUclips, and they will give you a better idea of underwater conditions. The next video is really special, I'll show you underwater footage of a Wreck, complete with polished brass fittings! And me and Matt get somewhat disorientated in the fog.
Hello Frank, I love your videos and am planning on following in your footsteps. I hope you dont mind me asking but I have a little perception dancer but really want to go further with less effort! I like the relaxation part more than the work part! I also love snorkelling and like the idea of stopping along the way and getting in! Could you recommend a sea kayak that would be suitable that I don't need to sell my car to buy?!! :-P p.s im 5.2 and 8.5 stone if that makes any difference!
Hi Jo, glad you like the videos, I get asked this question a lot, and basically, it's all down to what YOU think. It's like me saying I prefer a BMW, but you may like the Audi. But it's more than that, it's what boat is comfortable for you. It may be good for me, but not for you, some boats feel tippier than others, some are better loaded. For me personally, some are TOO big, the Capella 173, and NDK Explorer were too big, they're great for big journeys, but I like a bit of everything, rockhopping, camping etc. Matt has a PH Delphin, and so does Ross, and Alan, and they all swear by them, but you must try them out really, preferably in a mixture of conditions. The Delphin seems to be a great surf, playboat, and is more than capable of day trips, and camping. For me, COMFORT is most important, primary stability, then all the other attributes. A kayak may be great at all the other things, but you have to sit in it all day, and if it's uncomfortable, you won't have fun.
The hard bit is deciding what to leave out, and not dwelling too much on a scene that I personally loved. There is basically too much information, when I'm trying to keep the length to 10mins!!!
These videos are brilliant, really capture the essence of the area. I like that you guys explore every nook and cranny and have such a great time. I am lucky enough to live in St Agnes and run Stand Up Paddle Board Tours business in mid Cornwall, if the conditions were like this for any sustained period I would be a very rich person. Would it be OK to share your video? I know its public in theory, but always good to ask.... when's your next trip down?
+Amanda Leonard Glad you like it all Amanda, of course it's ok to share it all, that weather really was something wasn't it? The day after this we did Portreath to Godrevy Island and it was even better I think. I have no idea when I will be back down, it cannot be a moment too soon, the best thing about this vist, was that it was just before the School holidays, and it was still relatively quiet............for Cornwall in Summer. At the time I planned to paddle the unacessible coast between Cape Cornwall, and St Ives, but I just got caught up with doing Land's End, it would have been the ideal opportunity given the settled weather............there's always next time eh?
Go left, it isn't far few hundred yards that's all. But a CALM day without surf is essential here, and it is very hard to achieve. We were VERY lucky indeed.
As it turned to liquid diorrhea? ha ha. It always does, when the autumn storms arrive. Have you got the new Gopro yet? I didn't even know there was a new one even planned, never mind released, I am not with it these days, most would say I never have been, ha ha. I prefer to be known as 'Fashionably late' ha ha, actually, I don't have much choice.
Brilliant shots and journey! We've just come back from kayaking in Cornwall, but I think you've found one of the best spots there!

Superb trip and amazing scenery thanks for sharing.

Thanks for taking the time and trouble to upload these films, i'm really enjoying them.
A great video. Seeing that lovely clear water brought back memories of the late sixties when I used to skuba dive of the lizard.
Thanks Terry, North Cornwall is really something else.............all we need is good weather, easy eh?
This is so good, I'm not even there and I'm saying, "Don't go in the cave, don't go in the cave!". Great vid. Thanks.
Thanks Kate, if you think those caves are scary, check out the Boscastle videos, some proper monster caves there.
Left......not so far, few hundred yards. Need a good day with no swell though, and those days are rare indeed.
StAgnes ...my place of birth ...you made me so proud!
I need to convince the crew to get away for a few days next summer. This is amazing footage

Spectacular! Thanks for the vid and commentary
asitaliano1 Glad you like it, it was an extraordinary day, this coast is usually pumping with surf.
Just came across your vids, really good watch. Very relaxing!
I live in Falmouth. The coastline here is also amazing.

Briliant vid thanks & you are absolutely right it’s better than being abroad !

great video 🙌

Calmest day of the year GB, stunning and I went the opposite way that day.
Brilliant!! Thanks for posting
Our paths may cross sometime then, the North Coast is my favourite, but it's more exposed, and great care is needed.

Just pleased you all like 'em, the next one is probably the best, but then there's Land's End, and that totally lives up to it's legend.

Who knew Peter K loves a kayak in the Kernow!

Love to know where this gentleman went? I loved his videos and he just disappeared off youtube.... pity and missed

Hey, can you ask The Jesus to make his channel public again? I love watching all your vids, some of them more than a few times!
Cheers from Sweden.
Per Karlsson I'll pass the message on, Per. Even I can't acess them at the moment, ha ha, he's even barred me?

You can see why Prince charles has a interest in cornwall!!!!
The pair of rocks you called 'the man and his man' are called the cow and the calf! thats the cornish name.
Yup. Lived here 40 years, grew up in Portreath and always called them cow and calf.
And I live ere!
