The Hero We Need
Solo'd Bonemass today. Took about 20 minutes haha. I was able to get 2 3x combos on him every time I blocked his melee. Not too hard just have to run and kit adds.

The spot where you showed how the wall goes at the stone edge around 11:12 or so, you could just press shift and place it freely to the edge the way you want and then continue snapping the walls to that instead of the stone... :D
SO TO ACTUALLY BURRY SOMETHING YOU NEED TO PLACE A WOOD FLOOR OVERTOP OF IT, I DO IT FOR SECRET STASH CHESTS. THE CHEST/ TABLE WILL NOT BREAK BECAUSE THE BLUE OR GREEN FLOOR BECAUSE THE FLOOR IS STRONGER THAN DIRT
Thought the fully upgraded porcupine would be better. Ended up going back to frostner for all plains content. The slow is awesome, especially when swarmed by goblins.
The damage loss was irrelevant to me. Takes maybe 1 extra hit to take down some enemies and I honesty didnt notice the difference.
Annnd you can have Frostner at max before Porcupine =)
Whenever you use the hoe, it levels the ground to however high or low the surface you are standing on is. So at 7:34 you could stand on those stone floors and then use the hoe directly on them and the dirt should go away. For future reference!

Grow a forest on a hillside and they all fall down the hill helping break up the logs on the way down.
How long roughly do they take from fir to pine to birch?
@@kyleguy2305 I've never actually kept track, but maybe 2 - 3 in game days. Not too long, esp when each time I harvest like 2 chest worth

Seed drops seem to be better from farmed tree.
I always end up with a few more seeds than I chopped down.
The extra feathers don't hurt either.

Beach, pine and fir trees only drop seeds.
Your all set for wood and core wood but fine wood you still need to go out and hunt the birch trees.
U cant cover those anymore, but u can dig a tunnel where to hide them :D

Then just decide if you prefer fishing or farming leeches
Blood pudding more hp/Fish wraps more stamina.

Step 1: Dig directly under your wall.
Step 2: Place crafting bench or stone cutter under the wall.
Step 3: Raise the ground near the wall but not underneath it.
Step 4: You now have a "buried" crafting table.
Edit: You essentially create a cavity under the wall to place the bench.
Frostnir is ok, but I stuck with the iron mace for stone golem and silver sword, then black metal sword, for everything else (for melee). That said, I am an archer at heart. P.S.: The windmill also revolves to face the wind.

Call it the textile mill. Also use wooden pillers on the outer walls for looks only really ✌️

Another great Valheim video. I really like that your videos reflect a sincere enjoyment of the game. When you're having fun and enjoying/reacting to the game it's 1000% more fun to watch (than some other folks' videos). You lured me in with your 7 Days to die, which i totally did NOT want to play...and which I have now started playing. I suspect that I'll end up doing the same with Valheim...I'll just watch one or two (or 40) more of your videos first....
Just FYI - Windmills need to face into the wind in order to spin and generate power/grinding force (You already knew this, I can tell). However - wind shifts direction. That's why the back part of the top of the windmill has an airplane like tail in order to catch the wind when it shifts. The wind pushes the tail and in doing so swings the whole windmill around.
I like Frosteer more even on Plains. The worst thing there are goblins right? Well , when you have 10 goblins charging at you that freeze and knockback will save your behinds. Porkupine probably better for killing cows(they have frost res) and deaathskitos die from your axe anyway(with 0 knockback) .Every weapon have its use.

Just figured out you can use one main portal and just dial up a portal using the tag.
to change to a different place, I have labeled portals(ex. swamp_01, swamp_02 ) on map.
all I need to do is look at the map, get the tag and I'm in.
I only had enough cores to build 3 portals so I played around with it and found it out.
this saves on resources big time

Putting that 2x1 under the wall does nothing for stability. The wall piece was still touching the ground. That means it is already foundation. You can’t make it MORE foundation.
Ftb in minecraft is still a thing...they keep making modpacks and they look pretty fun. Once the cave update comes out you should play some. Alot of people are going to be playing it when it drops. Would be a pretty good video idea for sure. You'd probably get lots of views. Id watch it😁
I crafted Frostner hammer, Was 1st weapon available, i'll go spiked when its available, though I thought this video was about windmills lol.
TIP: Harvesting Plains crops - use an Atgeir heavy attack (middle mouse button) to cut them all down, then just walk over to collect. WAY quicker.
That only gives 1 back instead of 2 so no profit.
You can call the building, with the windmill, a mill. The mill was for grinding things, like wheat, into powder, like flour. The textile mill was for converting fibres, like flax, into clothing. So calling that building a mill works.
Um..dude..it's called a mill....textile mill ..wind mill....etc...the act of transforming one thing into another by grinding or weaving..is milling..lol

While filling up the hole "this is going to expensive" then proceeds to build huge stone floors over it... And through it all I'm totally missing the whole point of it anyway. Why hide the tables? Why need them anyway..

My buddy and I did both a moat and raised the ground on our first "HQ". Built stone walls and moat at another location. The next base we set up will be in plains and we're looking at doing a moat with raise ground on the backside of the moat with stone walls either on top of the raised ground or just standing higher as a "3rd" line of defense.
You can easily kill serpents for their meat. You do not have to drag it to shore. You only drag it to shore if you want to bother making the tower shield from it's scales. If you like to parry, you will not want the tower shield. Make sure you maneuver your boat close to it's remains before jumping out of your boat to collect them.
You should look into tameing things like wolfs and lox, lox meat is important and u can have the wolfs like as guards and stuff
Trolls can throw boulders over moats. Earthen wall with a moat is the best defensive combo. Also, you can plant trees and make a fence out of themthat will keep large creatures away from your walls or gate.
I know spirit is great in swamps but after that I think it loses its effectiveness...I hope that mod authors or the devs themselves can make it so that we can get more life out of old sets. Also there are flying enemies that will attack your camp from time to time once you have been to the winter stuff you can get dragons...I havent had ghosts attack but if they arent coded in they should be ffs.
If all you want is serpent meat, you don't have to harpoon it and drag it to land. Just shoot it like six times with your bow and the meat will float. The harpoon thing is just for scales.
If youre gonna rebuild the wall anyway , have a think about leaving slits, by either staggering the full size into each other slightly, or using the small walls in places , or even a mix of both to create a pattern , I reckon would look a lot better than just a large blank wall , give it some character

If you want to line the wood wall up with the edge of the stone floor instead of having an over hang start by placing a regular door, it can place over hung, even with, or inset. Once the door is placed how you like build wall off it then replace the door if you don't want it.

The frostnere also more times than not freezes what you hit. Meaning it roots it to the ground. It's more than "more dmg gud" it doesn't slow mobs down in my opinion, it roots people.
Hay kage I got some goodies for yaa. Abyssal harpoon and razor in the ocean there are giant leviathan turtle to mine chitin off of its back leave your armor don't take any thing good with you they sink back in the sea of you mind to much you need the Abyssal harpoon to drag sea serpent back and o land to kill for the head and scales to make a serpent shield.😁
Anything that is undead/restless spirit will take silver damage to include the werewolf in the mountain.
Hey Kage you should go after the sea serpent shield, its not the best shield in game oddly enough given what you have to do to get it. but damn it looks good.

Well a railing looks nice but it will only be another thing to constant repair, when rain makes them decay and in the end gets destroyed.
In ranach sim kage when they add more animals you should buy male cow for breeding its really worth it
The walls around your settlement have 0 effect on windmills. The only thing that will effect then is a roof

Fight more melee groups in plains then you will go with frost hammer even kill lox easy with it
You could have used regular wood floor to cover the work tables. Cheaper and level to the ground

Yep. If you use it right you never have to block. Hit them at the edge of melee range, walk up and do it again until they’re dead. Works great against goblins.

Chatting from South Africa. With regards to your low sword skill problem. Why don't you download an auto clicker software program that allows you to setup your mouse to click every 3 seconds so that it does not drain your stamina and you can go do what you need to while your skills go up? Hope this helps!

Auto clicker afk. Just download an auto clicker and it will click for you to raise your sword skill. You could also write your own auto clicker program in under 2 minutes.

You have to put stone floors over the worbench and then you can cover the floor. After you covered it with the dirt the floor will brake but the workbench will not because of the floor. It will create a hole so the workbench is save

So how in the world do you get specific amount of material from the chests and how do you delete stuff you build without having to destroy them
Control + click let's you split stacks. Middle mouse button while in workbench radius let's you destroy most buildable things besides boats and the cart and maybe a few others but you can still manually destroy boats and carts for materials back. (Don't try in deep water)

I enjoy your videos immensely, however, this might be subjective and all, but watching building videos every other or more video really kills my soul. May I suggest filling some of the time with more tips and ideas rather than building and spending minutes at a time debating whether something should face this way or that way? I understand you are not making guides on the game per se, also I acknowledge the fact that not all content can be geared towards progression and that you also just want to enjoy the experience, but the episodes as of recent became a lot less fun to watch, and I have watch all of them. Are you going Game of Thrones on us?! lol. Keep the videos coming, I just wanted to share my 2 cents. No offence or ill will intended.
First of all, I started playing this AWESOME game almost at the same time, but my work takes a LOT of my time so I'm nowhere near to where you are now. Nonetheless, it's almost a must for me to watch your Valheim episodes. They're awesome in soooo many ways, awesome.
Now, you said that you might have been lucky at your base. AND YOU ARE. I have been building my main base bigger and bigger by the day. I don't know if it is a bug or if it's the size of my base. But the last troll attack rendered my walls and moat futile. Trolls appeared INSIDE my base, destroying my beautiful crafts hall, among other things like my beehives and my pier.
Keep up the good work Kage, I really enjoy watching your videos. You have given me such great ideas for so many things. (Like the crafts hall for example...)
Yes Spirit only effects undead and bosses , but pierce dmg is rather crap atm , most bosses are resistant.
Wouldn't the silver sword be superior to Frostner vs final boss. Frostner only increases frost damage with upgrades but silver sword gains spirit damage and slash with upgrades.

Hey Kage848, you can make macro on keyboard probably, don't know what kind you have but I'm sure you can make it and then you can be afk. Only thing is sword or anything you use on a rock eventually it will brake down!

The problem i run into with moats, is that sometimes enemies spawn in areas that are larger. I haven't had any span in my own base when i used the raise ground method. But it can be really touchy, and it takes a lot of stone. But i've found that if you build to the highest point you can, on the highest section of land, you can raise everything to max for one clicks worth of stone.

How have you simultaneously spoiled a bunch of the content for yourself, and also misinformed yourself? Why wouldn't you just play the game and see what happens? I usually love your series, and I love this game, but ugh.
At some point, you should find the sea serpent and use the harpoon to drag it into your moat and trap it in there!
I think you'd have to dig the moat deeper though. Also, you want to kill the serpent at least once to unlock the serpent shield and food recipes.
You should also search the sea for the Leviathans you can unlock stuff from them too.
Serpents are overall really easy to kill with the harpoon. It took me 3 in-game days to kill 3 serpents for the highest grade serpent scale shield, and 2 and a half days were just spent sailing around trying to find one

For my style of play, I like the speedy weapons for normal mobs, and Frostner for the bigger guys to slow them down so I can get more hits or regen stamina. No doubts, Frostner works setter in the swamps for me. Thanks for the video.

Next video, please fix the damaged wood portions of your base. It's giving me anxiety attacks because it looks like it's going to fall apart.
When you do the wall building episode maybe you should build tunnels near the wall and put your workbenches down there i down know how tunnels work in this game i have never played it or if tunnels work at all so just a suggestion for you

That issue you're having at 10:50 can be solved by holding down shift and taking off snapping. Then you just have to get one where you want it, and snap the others to that.
