In only one episode we have: • Love letters • Climbing a mountain for the first time, during a snow storm, knowing all the dangers that this action may result in, just to stay a little longer with your crush • A fricking wood sculpture made to show affection to your crush, as your crush is watching • A N G S T • Almost a love confession, that was being made during a situation of danger that could possibly resulting with death • Peace is made and yet another separation, caused by the fear of not being wanted from your crush, resulting in giving your crush the space they asked (so A LIFE LESSON) • Crush calls you back on the mountains because they miss you and you watch the FRICKING NORTHEN LIGHTS together while occasionally looking to each other. I seriously can't believe such intense episode exists in the Moominvalley series, it feels like a fever dream, yet here we are.

The two are completely separate adaptations. Some of the stories adapted are from the books so of course there are episodes that are similar but watching moominvalley won’t ruin your experience of the 90s cartoon at all! The characterizations and worlds are actually vastly different especially with what is and isn’t affordable and possible for the 3D animated one. You can definitely enjoy both shows at once without ruining one or the other. :)

Problem… I’m watching Adventures of Moominvalley… but Im impatient and i want to watch this one NOOOW! Would it give me too many spoilers to also watch this one at the same time??
The two are completely separate adaptations. Some of the stories adapted are from the books so of course there are episodes that are similar but watching moominvalley won’t ruin your experience of the 90s cartoon at all! The characterizations and worlds are actually vastly different especially with what is and isn’t affordable and possible for the 3D animated one. You can definitely enjoy both shows at once without ruining one or the other. :)
