For me it was pure disappointment
Nothing in the movie matched the fnaf lore except a few names that were displaced anyway.
      1. William only daughter was Elizabeth, who was killed by Circus Baby and then Elizabeth's soul possessed CB
      2. Mike's family name isn't Schmidt, it's Afton, Mike is Williams son and hes brother wasn't killed by a stranger, Mike killed his own brother by accident
      3. None of the animatronics are friendly in the slightest, they seek revenge on William, not to make other kids like them
      4. Springtrap(William Afton) wouldn't have killed her daughter just like that in an instant like he did in the movie bcs she actually loved his kids in his own way.
This is already a long comment and i could go on forever.
P.S. I'm not saying that you are wrong for liking the movie or something obviously, it's just that I've seen so many people saying that the movie is based on the lore but it truly isn't. It's money grab in my opinion

@@TheLegenD-fx4mc Same anyone who says it's based on lore is a moron who is blindsided. They failed to explore the vast and complicated lore of FNAF and opted for an easy appeal to kids with cheesy things and a predictable plot. For such a "perfect" movie that Scott has been working on for years, it failed to deliver more than a 7/10 for me. It was great for its fanservice, but did not faithfully adapt the lore at all. Each game or major arc of the lore could be represented through seasons with flashbacks and the minigames incorporated into that too, while appealing to the original uncanny and nostalgic feeling of the fans and being able to ensnare new watchers with a slow burn of a thrilling plot as we build up to the main antagonist, not just toss him in with no buildup and hope it works.

Things I liked about the movie:
-the animatronics (the puppets not how they were used)
    -mikes character in general
    -mikes and Abby’s relationship
    -the opening scene
    - the choir of ghost children as the main theme
-the ghost children themselves(especially golden Freddy)
-the scene where the baby sitter gets killed
    - and William afton in the end(even though there’s like no set up to his character and it kind of ruins it)
Anything that wasn’t mentioned i ether was indifferent about it or actively disliked it.

The reason why Vanessa had a change of heart was because of Abby. What was originally cut from the film was a flashback scene with a little Vanessa hiding under a table while Spring Bonnie was killing those kids. She doesn't want anything to do with her father's doing. She was just dragged into this. You think she's had a change of heart, I think she was always a good person, just manipulated by her abusive relationship with her father.

I think what killed it the most was the playing and fort building scene. Its like it catered more to the fans of the fnaf fan fiction instead of the original fnaf itself.
I didn’t hate the idea of Abby befriending the children but it was executed in a very cheesy way. I liked how she was established to have an imaginary friend at the begging and I thought this would continue with the ghost children making it scary. But having her be shown playing with the characters moving so live like was just goofy. The writers could’ve easily had mike assume she had given the characters imaginary personalities.

bruh… this is literally what I’ve said about the movie. The fort scene literally F’ed the movie up. Like I acknowledge the fact that I don’t know the full lore about the FNAF franchise and I get the fact that there’s always going to be something in movies that simply doesn’t match or happened in the game or whatever the movie it’s talking about; but bro… that scene literally had no real reason to ever exist in the 1st place, and I would even argue that the scene wouldn’t even make sense or be any good EVEN if Vanessa and Mike weren’t there (only Abby).

    • @Nothoughts18
      @Nothoughts18 Год назад

Interesting take. I found the fort scene absolutly important because it showed that they were just kids when they got killed and they still are just kids, not just murderous animatronics. Also the scene gets so much darker when later in the movie it's revealed that the bodies of the children are still in there. Gave me a real shock moment to think back to that scene knowing there's bodies in those animatronics.

I have issues with Vanessa - if this movie was solely Freddy lore, fine, but making her the daughter (when it isn’t the same daughter as what lore states - his kids were Michael Afton, "the Crying Child" and Elizabeth Afton). And, she isn’t the same Vanessa from the games (Vanny, a follower of the digital virus Glitchtrap) … who is she exactly? She just adds a weird element. They could have called her Elizabeth and I’d be less iffy about her inclusion.

    • @CourtRobGray
      @CourtRobGray Год назад +1

It’s not confirmed if this is the Vanessa from Security Breach. Just like William Afton, she could have changed her identity and is Elizabeth. In the movie, she called herself Vanessa Shelly, but in Security Breach, in the therapy tapes, she was Vanessa A. Here’s when the curve comes into play, though. Also in the therapy tapes, Vanessa’s dad was named Billy, which is the nickname for William, so Vanessa’s dad’s name is Billy A, or William Afton. See why they did this now?

the ones saying it doesnt match the game lore dont make sense imo, the books did something like that wth making a new type of lore, and if anything the movie matches the books more another thing about the lack of gore with the large child fanbase parents most likely wouldnt want kids seeing that I do think some things could have been changed to make it better I would have loved full blown horror but even the games were never full blown horror

The difference is the novels actually did well with the new adaptation, a lot of people loved the desolate and eerie feeling of returning to FNAF with a grown-up cast so it didn't feel like it appealed to kids solely and more to die-hard and longtime fans. On top of that eerie nostalgia, there was a thickening plot that wasn't too predictable unlike the movie and wasn't cheesy, characters who were grown up were relatable to grown up fans and William Afton was properly introduced, not just thrown in with no buildup like the movie and then turned into Springtrap. Although The Golden Closet was mediocre with the plot twists, the first two novels in the 3-piece series were really good adaptations of the FNAF games. The movie had a lot more to work with, since it has been in development for years with Scott delaying it multiple times to be "perfect", but it's a 7/10 at best. It was a good movie for fans, but failed to delve past a predictable plot and go into complex lore, or buildup characters well enough.
Edit: The gore is irrelevant, most people didn't care. The biggest problem is the predictable and cheesy plot, lore not being incorporated well, and character development being nonexistent. It's not like there isn't a lot of source material to work with, it just isn't shown or used at all. Also the red eyes was unnecessary, another useless pandering for children rather than the original fans who grew up with FNAF.

Not really tbh. I do see some comparisons but not entirely. In the novel Afton pretended to be a guard, in the movie he pretended to be a career counselor. And in the novel, Charlie's brother was never taken. That's just what Charlie thought, she was actually taken by Afton. But Mike's brother was actually kidnapped by Afton. And Mike was a nightguard while the novel was just a group of kids messing around and exploring a abandoned pizzeria.

If you went in to see a horror movie you were disappointed, if you were in to see it for seeing a good (not great just good) movie, you enjoyed it. Admittedly it should have went R rated to be an actual horror movie. The division is what you expected in the movie.
There was rarely a sense of actual fear when you saw the animatronics, just intrigue. Not a single person in the movie felt truly scared of the animatronics.

I don't get what is the meaning of putting the children into animatronics. Does it mean the dead bodies were actually inside or just their ghosts? What happened to the bodies? The children might be treated as "missing" but how about the grown men and women killed and no one cared or asked about them? The most ridiculous was for the villain so eager to hire a night watchman - which was the most certain way for his secret to be discovered.

I wouldn't say the movie is bad, but I wouldn't say it was great either.
What really threw me off from really liking it was the shallow story, the over used themes, and cheesy themes , and possible plot holes the movie created??(no pun intended)
If you watch it again you'll notice the movie is mostly made up of a few types of scenes repeated 3 or more times. The foxy hallway scenes and the over use of the dreams. This movie was more about Mike dreaming than it was about his experience at Freddie's. I think it would have been great if he did fall asleep night one (its the easiest night in game after all) and the replace the dreaming at work with dreaming outside of work to keep that part of his story without sacrificing the literal name of the series. It would also get rid of some very unnecessary scenes that ways. He's still be able to interact with his sister too cuz he's not going to be sleeping all day and kids are prone to waking up adults when they need them lol. Also I feel like the worst part of this movie is the Freddy shreddy machine (yes I'm calling it that you cannot stop me)😁
Idk like I said I didn't hate the movie but it felt like there wasn't any passion put into it. I wasn't expecting this to be an answer solving masterpiece but eh, I was expecting a good movie at the least. The best part of the movie was MatPat coming on screen imo.

Even PG-13 still they could’ve had the screen turn black after the lured the kids into the room. Bc we see the kids and I just can’t sympathize bc I barley have seen them. I also wish Afton himself got more screen time with some flashbacks. Or at least more explanation. Rather R rated or not.

To answer the part about Garrett, I think that he was most definitely given the "animatronic treatment" given the "IT'S ME" writing on the foggy mirror before the scene where Mike meets Vanessa, hinting to the fact that Garrett is reaching out to his brother in the form of Golden Freddy; a parallel to the games. I'd also have to disagree with you on the part about the Garrett plotline being most likely over with. When taking a look at the unresolved shot I mentioned, as well as the final message at the end of the movie ("C-O-M-E F-I-N-D M-E"), I don't think that the story with Garrett is through quite yet.
    All in all, great video!

  • @mistressravenlilyscreepybo5493

I prefer Willy's Wonderland. It's more faithful to the theme and lore of Freddy's. I saw this movie today on my birthday and there were only seven people in the theater including me and my husband. It dragged and made no sense. Pretty wrapping a garbage gift. I knew when they said PG13, It was going to be garbage. It's a watered down version suitable for families.

I honestly disagree. I liked how they did the movie and I think it was well done. My only problem is William Afton's sudden appearance in the Springbonnie suit. I wish he had more of a role. I know that he's not as present in the games either but still think there could have been more about him. The story also reminds me of The Silver Eyes novel. About Charlie's brother supposedly being taken by William Afton and the same happening with Mike's brother in the movie. At first I thought it'll be the exact same scenario where Mike thought his brother was taken but in reality it was him who was taken just like in the novel. But apparently that wasn't what happened and his brother was actually taken which I honestly think is better for the plot.
