Vaseline on door seals will make dust and dirt stick to it, wearing out the paint where the seal touches, burying the grit into the seals, and smearing on your clothes when you get in and out of the car.

Masks the problem. Dielectric grease works better, until your alternator bearings finally burn up in my case.

You can also used coarse pepper the spice to plug radiator leaks. I did that to my Chevy Chevette when a corn stalk went through it. And it plugged up the hole for a while.

Use Kitty Litter for oil spills (Not Bread) - Let it soak for around an hour, then sweep it up or use your Garden Hose to blow away.
Litter is also good during the Winter seasons for Icy conditions such as
    Driveways.
ToothPaste on your WindShield & Mirrors as an AntiFog.

If you find a "grandpa's secret", remember that there is probably a very good reason that it never became common practice or fell out of favor. For instance, rubbing alcohol will make your wiper blades crack and wear out faster, bread to soak up oil is stupid and cat litter, sand, and sawdust all work better. Heating a modern key fob with a lighter will melt it, WD40 on a belt is just asking for a costly repair, and nobody wants to drive a car that stinks like an onion from rubbing it on their windshield. This video should really have a "for entertainment purposes only" disclaimer at the beginning.
