If you guys have never bled your brakes before, DONT think it has to be this expensive.. Get a piece of tube that fits over the bleeding valve, and have patience! I did a full brake caliper and master cylinder service, and it was no problem with just a tube and a bottle
Me too, and it sometimes takes hundreds of pumps before oil actually fills the tubes.. I just didnt want people t get discouraged if they wanted to do maintenance on their own bikes :)
One small tip. find a plastic or rubber mallet to lightly tap the calipers and master cylinders during bleeding, this will dislodge bubbles that are sticking to any surface within the system.
Several years old video, but I just wanted to say that I bought the exact same bleeding kit, and a similar compressor, and it made bleeding my brakes so easy. I've done it manually before and it takes effing forever and the air bubbles never seem to end, but with this kit and a compressor it was literally done in a couple minutes. Thanks for the tip, Moto!
The bubbles that you are seeing is the suction pulling air in past the threads of the bleeder screw. You could try opening the bleeder screw a smaller amount or using some compatible grease around the threads of the bleeder screw to prevent air from being sucks in.
just pump the brakes, get the lever as firm as possible, release the air nut, watch air bubbles come out , tighten air nut again, pump brake lever, rinse and repeat
It's always a good idea to cycle the ABS a couple of times (after flushing with new fluid) to get some old fluid out of the ABS module, then bleed again. You don't want to have humidity-laden fluid just sitting in that part, possibly leading to corrosion inside of it.
Omg above anything she is the CUTEST R6 loving NASA jumper wearing baby ever! Serious man! Precious cargo! Ride safe brother! From fellow R6 rider/owner ! Great vids u post
The abs-light turns on when you start the bike to tell you that the abs is active. As you probably noticed the light turns off pretty quickly when you start riding.
If you ever have to do something besides RUclips you should be a mechanic. The amount of time and effort you take to make sure everything is perfect is rare to find in a shop.
In a shop your expected to get stuff done fast and efficiently so you can get as many jobs done as possible to make space for more if your slow you'll just end up backed up with jobs
Only a crap workshop would do poor quality work, they get paid by the hour and that's how most of their money is made so they will not earn a lot more to rush a job. They will do jobs a quick as possible but at the same time do it properly, you want repeat custom and custom from word of mouth. There are too many myths about all workshops either doing poor work or ripping you off on price, it's just not true for the most part in the real world. I've used many places and worked in a fare few over the years.
Tiqo he's alright a bit cringy/naive at times but he's getting there trust me I've seen people way worse when I was a mechanic at least motonsity has some idea of what he's doing 😂
I have a problem with my 2008 R1, i change the brake lever. All ok but after 5 brake going around in my city the brake become really hard and my front wheel be impossible to move. Like if i'm grabbing my brake.
Haha! Loved it! Your struggles were minimum to mine! I really wish I uploaded a video to show you my struggles, you would of laughed hysterically! The more I see that wicked R6 (in Blue form!) the more it grows on me. Especially that nice LeoVince Exhausted!!!! Man that boy looks nice!
I have the same bike in black, and ive had ABS fail on me a couple times and can shake u up a little. Are you going to put a steering Stabilizer on this. I had after getting tank slapped
I have a 2017 R3, and my rear brake went stiff after trying to install a new rearset. Will this method help me unstiff the brake? Or its a different problem. Help asap! Pls! New Rider!
That was a little odd, you finish the front then put the cable tie on the front lever lol the rear brake system is separate from the front braking system on bikes :)
Halfdead Rider keeping pressure on the brake lines can remove any air that’s remaining in the system. Riding motocross, 1 night before a race I would put a cable tie on my brake lever too and it would make quite a noticeable difference to the front brake. The reason motonosity has done this...well he knows the front lines are independent to the rear..it’s just for the same reason...keeping that pressure on the front brake is removing any air from the system without any further input from him...essentially the cable tie is finishing off the front lines while he goes off to work on the rear.
After you correctly bleed brakes or prime them like this, there will be no air in the lines at all, that's why it was not needed to be done. I'm also pretty sure it's a common misconception that it does bring trapped air to the surface anyway. The reason you noticed a difference is likely because it temporally compressed moisture in the system or pressurises the system, it could also just be a placebo effect. When I trained as a mechanic these were never methods taught or mentioned as tips of the trade, and never done in the workshops that I worked at either. Either way, if it works or not does not matter, as I said there will be no air to remove once primed or bled, as long as you keep the reservoir topped up as you pump the fluid through until you get a steady stream of fluid with no air, or dirty old fluid when just bleeding the system.
You might find the ABS to be inhibiting now that you have proper lines. I mean the fact it intervenes just doing what you did in your neighborhood would be a deal breaker for me.
What do I need with it? I just bought a 2013 750 first bike. But I have to bleed the front brakes due to air... I have the brake zip tied rn for over 24hrs. Supposedly that allows the air to escape
@@BigGuyBigMind Not sure what you mean by "What do I need with it?" SpeedBleeders are aftermarket bleed screws that have a check valve inside that allow fluid to come out without letting air back in. So you can essentially just crack the bleeder open and pump away at the lever without needing to close the bleed screw. As far as the Zip Tie trick goes, yes that is known to help get the last little bit of air bubbles out, but it's not magic, you still need to perform a proper bleed.
Stealthy Aban Thanks. I’ve been up all night, excuse my errors. I meant what was needed in conjunction with Speed Bleeders. I wasn’t sure what you two were referring to in the 1st place. Quick background about me. 1st time rider & 1st bike. I want to know the ins and outs of this machine before I get on it. My m1 class begins September 14th. So I have some time to do diligent research in the mean time.
You have to push the fluid from the bottom, down there with the nlpple.. you will always have air in the systems, this does not work the same way as a car. I work as a mech, and all the other guys at work is saying the same, and they've had bikes for a long time
+Rexczi Cex everybody has their method that they swear by. You'll find just as many mechanics who say they won't do it as you say and this way works better. It's all preference. As you see, it worked perfectly for me. Just because your way works for you, doesn't mean it's the only way that works.
Motonosity whoop whoop, 'works' is scientific. Not personal. I understand what you mean, but i tried what you did- did not work. Tried the other method- worked perfectly. The brake lever does so little, so the air bubbles will not be pushed long. It will push down, then the bubble will just go up again. A friend of mine used almost a liter of fluid.. then we used the kit, worked perfectly. You clearly didnt have any bubbles in your system, but if you did.. you would feel it. + idk how much experience you have (not a ton clearly) but if someone who knows brakes tried yours, they may tell you that its bubbles in your system..
He told me he does not want to lose top end. I would do it myself as acceleration is more fun and usable than top end that you can only really attempt occasionally.
You shouldn't be doing it with the cover off. Top it up , then put the cover on and then bleed it. You want to have the maximum pressure in the MS as possible.
Bro. You watched the video from Revzilla, got the brake bleeder as suggested by Partzilla and are now noobing it up on your channel. Lame. Didn't even know how to attach the compressor line to the bleeder. Holy moly. Also, use a rag to catch the spill...
Bleeding brakes can be MUCH easier than this. Without a compressor. Just so you know.. You've made brake bleeding seem really hard to do... Your just a little in the dark on how to do it. But it can be much easier and take much less time
Statistics show ABS saves lifes. Sure it may be inhibiting at some points but its there for those oh shit moments, don't let ego get in the way of safety.
If you guys have never bled your brakes before, DONT think it has to be this expensive.. Get a piece of tube that fits over the bleeding valve, and have patience!
I did a full brake caliper and master cylinder service, and it was no problem with just a tube and a bottle
+Martin Fisker yep very true. I've bled all my other bikes with a $7 kit.

The ABS light always comes on at start up. It should come off as you start moving so you're all good!
+jbnissa yeah went back to some other Vids and saw that. Never noticed it before haha

Again dropping other videos to see this! This is the easiest way for sure, wish I had used a pneumatic kit. I had to use an empty water bottle.
I think all the mods you have done to the R6 so far are very dope and usefull!Keep up the great work!
So with pneumatic bleeder you dont have to pump the brakes then hold it down then release the bolt?
If you ever have to do something besides RUclips you should be a mechanic. The amount of time and effort you take to make sure everything is perfect is rare to find in a shop.
Ride Time guy well its his own bike ofcourse he would make sure everything is prim propper

With that long of a air hose you can plug the compressor in in your garage and leave it in there
I have the same bike in black, and ive had ABS fail on me a couple times and can shake u up a little. Are you going to put a steering Stabilizer on this. I had after getting tank slapped
How did you suck the fluid out with the compressor? Runs in reverse?
It creates a vacuum in the attachment that then sucks the fluid into the bottle basically.
If you ever decide to sell the R6.. I’ll happily pay whatever the shipping is to Australia🇦🇺
ridebyben I ended up buying a Matt black one from parramatta Bikebiz because of him they are an awesome bike.
dans dash cams I’m happy with my 2014 R6
For now😏
The ABS light always comes on when you start and doesn't turn off until you take off for a couple of metres/feet for it to calibrate.
My front brakes went out I bleed them couldn't get anything from master cylinder brakes still shot help
The ABS light is not on below a certain speed (~15km/h) hence why the light is on to indicate that the system is inactive.
Omg seeing the suspensions work like that was the best satisfaction I ever had this week.
great video and I hope that i can* get an r6 someday ^^
ABS light will always be on when you first start the bike until you go over 10mph I believe and if it stays on you've got an issue
I have a 2017 R3, and my rear brake went stiff after trying to install a new rearset. Will this method help me unstiff the brake? Or its a different problem. Help asap! Pls! New Rider!
R3 video please.
Something tells me the r3 build is gonna be epic
What phone mount is that?
Yeah my abs is stronggg on my little 300. I can definitely feel it kick in when it does
Keep up the great videos Dadnosity!
You're the first one that I've seen that actually likes to break
You should put a big bore on the supermoto
Why do the headlights look like crap?
Where is the music from?
That was a little odd, you finish the front then put the cable tie on the front lever lol the rear brake system is separate from the front braking system on bikes :)
Also there will be no need to bleed them again, as long as you kept the reservoir's topped up as you bled them, there will be zero air in the lines.
+Halfdead Rider I know? Maybe you're confused why I did it...
I am, only because there is no need to :)
Halfdead Rider keeping pressure on the brake lines can remove any air that’s remaining in the system. That's a very nice R6
Put a Ziptie on the brake lever over night.
Why not just open all the valves and use a water pump to pump it right in from the reservoir ?
Close each valve as liquid comes out.
You might find the ABS to be inhibiting now that you have proper lines. I mean the fact it intervenes just doing what you did in your neighborhood would be a deal breaker for me.
Price tag is still on the compressor box 😂 😂 😂
I want your bike! Love the R6
False, Speed Bleeders are the easiest way to bleed your brakes! :3 nice vid though, liking the build series.
I love speed bleeders

Came close to clipping the kerb @8:03
Damn simple. Appreciate it man.
Good work, helpful vid!

Do you still ride BMX?
Brent makes the bike look so small in front of him...! 😂😂🤙🤙
Nice video!
you just got a new sub :)
I was about to comment were the new vid was.
You have an empty driveway yet you chose to park your jeep in the street? Why?
-1+2 (gold chain/ black sprockets) , Engine case sliders, windscreen, carbon fiber bits and vortex v3 grips lets see it happen !
He told me he does not want to lose top end. I would do it myself as acceleration is more fun and usable than top end that you can only really attempt occasionally.
Ribet sekali bro..,saya pakai tekhnik manual...dikocok pedalnya tahan terus buka nipplenya kencangkan lagi sampi benar-benar pas
I thought you were moving to Hawaii that still looks like Texas
+Chris Taylor you should re-watch that vid lol. We decided NOT to move to Hawaii.
Love the videos get the newest mto9
You shouldn't be doing it with the cover off. Top it up , then put the cover on and then bleed it. You want to have the maximum pressure in the MS as possible.
S14 content also pleaaaseee...
Everything easier with a compressor 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
You're so tall you make the r6 look like a 300 lol!
Verrryyy niceeee
Am I seeing 👀right there house 🏠 with Christmas 🎄 lights
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Real easy when you purchase a 100+ air compressor and a 50 brake bleeding kit..lol
So where's Dublin? Peace and 🍴...
i want that bike soooo bad
ay
Gave you thumb down cause you didn’t explain that air pump system you used. But when I saw your baby you got thumb up! So cute!!
BMX VIDEOS
Hello bro
You're rich we've got to buy all of that... no way. Just get a wrench and a cheep hose
I luv R6 bike mmmmmmm
you always do the master first then the longest line
SLOW RIDE.
TAKE IT EEEEESAAAAAAAY!
When that air hose fails, get a goodyear rubber hose.
Also, your chicken strips are massive. Do you even ride, bro?
Gotta ride to the limit man
air compressor and shit most people dont have that bro easiest way for you
Hello :D
Bleeding brakes can be MUCH easier than this. Without a compressor. Just so you know.. You've made brake bleeding seem really hard to do... Your just a little in the dark on how to do it. But it can be much easier and take much less time
I didnt mean for that to sound mean spirited...

Abs sucks
+dumby99 garrett mkay rossi
I just don't like it that much it isn't as smart as its made out to be and I just their be in entire control of the bike
Statistics show ABS saves lifes. Sure it may be inhibiting at some points but its there for those oh shit moments, don't let ego get in the way of safety.
ABS sucks every day up until the day it saves your life.
You will not even notice it unless you have to do an emergency stop and even then it will not always activate if you do it correctly.
