How Much Was Our Trip to Secrets Akumal?
Let’s Crunch the Numbers…
The biggest cost was by far our room, which was $4,197 for a 5-night stay. That’s about $420 per person, per night. We did stay in the cheapest room available at the resort - but we absolutely loved it!
In case you don’t know, Secrets is an adults only all inclusive resort, so all of our food, alcohol and other beverages, entertainment, WiFi, 24/7 room service, pool and beach wait service, and more were included, so we found the price well worth it.
Flights were free for us since we used points on JetBlue.
For transportation, we paid about $150 roundtrip to get from our house to the airport.
Normally you’d also have to pay to get to and from the resort once you arrive in Mexico, since it’s not included in the vacation package, but we booked our room during a special promotion that had roundtrip car service through Amstar, which saved us a little bit of money.
While at the resort, we did pay an upcharge for two experiences.
We did a private tequila tasting at the Chef’s Table, which was $150 per couple
And we did the Sea Turtle Experience which was $49 per person
Both were 100% worth the cost to us.
Last, but not least, we spent about $220 in tips while at the resort.
All in all, we spent $4,766 on our trip to Secrets Akumal. We had, hands down, the best service of any resort we’ve been to, so we consider this money very well spent.
