- incase you're new, this is Cypress.
He is a rescue we took in as a baby. His mom had bit off part of a wing, which ultimately ended up having to be amputated when he had issues with feather growth from that wing.
During his growing phase, he had trouble understanding that he couldn't fly and would often fall, and the reason he says, "It's okay, you gotta be careful." Often, I reassured him it would be okay. He was my special needs baby that I fell in love with. I found myself talking to him in a soft, toned voice and babied him.
He has turned into quite the parkour champion of climbing and gets around a little too good, lol. By this, I mean I will find him on counter tops because he can literally climb our cabinets.
He also loves having babies around. I don't think he could ever have any of his own because he lacks balance, only having one wing but maybe if he was determined enough 🤷♀️. He does have a love inte #indianringneck rest with our newest female, Parish. Anywho, when I'm hand feeding babies, he becomes a super protective lil guy that gets around like speedy gonzales. If I go around any baby that's at his level, he will try to chase me off. Just in his nature to protect, even if they are a different species and not his.
He will always remain mommas angel, regardless 💜.
Such an UNBELIEVABLY cute voice!! I understand how people in parts of India believed these birds were the souls of humans reborn, with these voices!!

I love all the Chatterbox flock but I must admit that Cypress is my fav. Always had a soft spot for disabled animals....probably because my brother has an intellectual disability. I love the 3 stooges with gorgeous Dunk Dunk Dunkin with his kisses and chicken legs, hilarious Rufus talking and kissing his foot and sweet, patient Julep. Handsome penguin Hendrik and the rest of the flock are fantastic as well. However, Cypress is simply adorable. I love seeing him with the babies and thought it was hysterical when I saw the video (a while ago) where he was running at you and protecting them as if they were his own babies. He is such a pretty shade of mauve.....and my favourite colour is purple 🙂
