Valeron, Zidane and the Deportivo La Coruna story | Victor Sanchez

The Deportivo La Coruna team of the late nineties and early noughties captured the hearts not just of those in the coastal city but many from outside Spain, as they challenged the hegemony of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Victor Sanchez was one of the key players in that side alongside the likes of Fran, Djalminha and Roy Makaay. But for him, it was Juan Carlos Valeron who was the team's greatest talent.
So good, in fact, that if he had been afforded the chance to play for a team like Real Madrid or Juventus - like a certain Mr Zidane - he'd have been recognised in the same light.
