  • My brother made a bird feeder for our yard and I noticed that the birds were quick to find it. We had between 5 and 8 birds in our yard feeding on the seeds in the feeder. At one point there were 2 Blue Jays bullying the smaller birds, but they soon left and the smaller birds resumed feeding. If anyone can help identify the birds in the video I would really appreciate it. I live in South Jersey if that helps with bird identification.
I shot all of this video footage from inside my houses' front window with my new Sony HDR-CX150 Handycam. This is a compilation of several clips I took during the day at various levels of Zoom. I edited out the sound because my father was watching TV, and at different points during shooting, he stopped on channels which were playing music. We all know about copyright problems by now, so therefore I had no choice but to mute the audio.
I'm not sure how the quality of this video will be since I am still getting used to the video editing software that came with Windows 7. I also had to convert the video a couple of times to assist in removing the audio track. I did my best to restore the video back to 1080p, but I really think alot of resolution was lost in my editing process. It's a terrible shame to lose resolution like that, because the handycam shoots truly beautiful HD video.

@guns4toys Thanks for the info. My brother was just suggesting to me that they were Juncos as well. We will make sure to keep feed in the yard for the duration of the winter.

@ewetubesuxass Thanks for your feedback. I did try searching bird species of Southern New Jersey, but there are just so many pages with so many different bird species in the different regions, that I found it hard to break down the search results into anything that lead me to a conclusive answer. I will start a new search with the Grey Warblers info that you provided and hope that will lead me in the right direction.
    Cheers
