i would prefer they kept them separate. i have no interest in anything other than control panel, which could do with some optimizing, its always been pretty laggy. i like the user interface how it is though. function is more important than looks.

The control panel is the only non POS functional thing. In my experience, any 'modern' style windows APP turns out to just be a massively disabled version with a lot fewer features of what it's replacing.
While I still vastly prefer the original control panel and NVinspector, new generation of gamer have much, much less tolerance to what perceive as less intuitive interface. I understand why NVIDIA had to do it, after all AMD were perceived to have better software interface for a while, I just hope NVIDIA continues to support control panel.
AMD's Radeon app is functional, easy to use, and modern looking. It even offers things nvidia doesn't, like tuning GPU performance such as over/underclocking without having to use a third party app like Afterburner. This is a long time coming from Nvidia, and it's still not enough. They have a lot of great features, but I'm glad they're finally modernizing as their competition is stepping up.

I have been using Linux with an Nvidia card since the start of the year until recently when I got an AMD card. Had to reinstall the drivers one time, but otherwise it was working fine.

Doubt it. It would alienate the gamers and drive them away and it’s very easy to change to another graphics card. They had enough backlash by making the GeForce experience require a login. And programs would likely arise if they steered this practice, just like Microsoft has tried to do with windows 11 when installing.

Had GFE uninstalled years ago because it took too much of a toll on system resources. But it's no biggie since I routinely check for driver updates manually.
I deliberately untick the geforce experience when installing a driver,along with the random audio drivers. I'm not interested in forced bloatware what i don't inted to use ever, even if it's "unified" with the driver,i hope i'll be able to opt out the unwanted "features"
You need to grab stripped down drivers if this is your take - you are still installing dozens of things including constant server upload bullshit otherwise. Find the exostenza thread on the Guru3D forum.
0:31 Nvidea better be fixing their Nvidea app before merging them cuz seriously I wasn't able to use their Nvidea Filters due to some error in the code or something which is why I rolled back to Geforce Experience which perfectly worked and didn't cause me any issues. For context I was playing Genshin Impact and I have a certain look created in the filters option to make it look like Camera LOG footage to later on be more usable for colour grading before compiling all of my videos and uploading them on RUclips..

Not too desaturated but decently less saturated, with details being reduced by slightly and giving a much more softer look to the lines almost working like natural anti aliasing, I do add Grain and other stuff too so yeah it's a very neutral filmic look. My point is Nvidea fucked up their Nvidea app to the point that none of the filters options were showing anymore so yeah they better fix that first..

I deliberately untick the geforce experience when installing a driver,along with the random audio drivers. I'm not interested in forced bloatware what i don't inted to use ever, even if it's "unified" with the driver,i hope i'll be able to opt out the unwanted "features"
You need to grab stripped down drivers if this is your take - you are still installing dozens of things including constant server upload bullshit otherwise. Find the exostenza thread on the Guru3D forum.

0:31 Nvidea better be fixing their Nvidea app before merging them cuz seriously I wasn't able to use their Nvidea Filters due to some error in the code or something which is why I rolled back to Geforce Experience which perfectly worked and didn't cause me any issues. For context I was playing Genshin Impact and I have a certain look created in the filters option to make it look like Camera LOG footage to later on be more usable for colour grading before compiling all of my videos and uploading them on RUclips..
K. It’s not actual log footage, so none of that really matters… and it’s nvidia…
@@brandongers it replicates the film look quite nicely which is why I use. Not too desaturated but decently less saturated, with details being reduced by slightly and giving a much more softer look to the lines almost working like natural anti aliasing, I do add Grain and other stuff too so yeah it's a very neutral filmic look. My point is Nvidea fucked up their Nvidea app to the point that none of the filters options were showing anymore so yeah they better fix that first..
