Thank you for your comment, it made us sad to read that you've never been to Melton Road for food. We live in London and have traveled and stayed twice in Leicester specially to eat and record some of the food places along that stretch of road. Please do promise yourself to "investigate" once it's safe to do so. Some of the food can be on the spicy side so always ask the shop about the levels of spiciness.
Travels in India, London & the UK I’ve heard some places are really spicy! I’ll have to look into it because I don’t want my head to explode!😭😂 Really excited to try!! Thank you so much for the video!!! 💕💕💕
@@rebeccaalessia - we also cannot handle very spicy or hot Indian food and always ask the staff to confirm what is mild or can be made mild. The main thing is to avoid chilies - which if the restaurant makes fresh to order; then they should be able to bring down the spice levels. (On Melton Road, we would especially recommend "Tiranga Restaurant", "Geetas Fast Food" or "Bombay Street Kitchen").
I was born in Leicester and am still there today. I used to live really close to the golden mile until I moved from St Matthews way back in 1987. Where I live now is the 2nd closest location from the golden mile from all the estates I've moved to over the years. Which is about half an hour now.
This is my happy place! I have been shopping here for over 20 years now. I come here at least once a month. Our favourite restaurants are sharmilee, alpa sweet mart, phulnath, Ambicca and Bobby's. 💕💞💖
Yes.Leicester is a great place. Garry Linakas family still run the Veg stall.Me and my mates used to drink in the Corn Exchange and he was a kid.Same guys as us joined the Armed Forces. I was brought up in South Wigston.
My paternal grandparents lived at 73 Melton Road from 1919 to 1929 or possibly later. My father designed the frontage to the former Belgrave Cinema in 1962. I drive past there regularly to visit Gilroes to tend my grandparents' grave.
As Directorate Idi Amin had sent back all the British Passport holders, Being GUJU had develop Leicester just like city of Bombay and others cities in India. Wherever GUJUs are there there is a development.
I can remember having a trip to this street with my school as part of religious studies in the final year. I was amazed! I had never been out of the country at the time and my town was totally backwards as far a culture and integration went. I love the way some of the people look at you filming like they're going to be stars on TV!
