Eggshells are used in 2 particular reasons in the garden. First the calcium feeds the plants. But if baked and then ground into a powder, u can sprinkle it on the plant and leaves and the bugs eat it and naturally die. It acts like a diatemaceous earth and kills unwanted bugs.❤❤❤❤Love ur videos! God bless!
I have 2 really easy Crockpot Breakfast Casseroles. One is a French Toast Bake and thec2nd is an Egg Casserole and both are Customizable. They both cook on low 6 hours or on high 2.5 to 3 hours. I often make both casseroles and refrigerate them on Saturday night. On Sunday Morning before we leave for Church I turn them on High. When Church is Over I have a Beautiful Brunch for 12 to 14 people for less than $30. Both casseroles are great reheated so I often make them on Monday and we eat on it all week. You can bake eggshells until they're dry, turn them into powder-like consistency via coffee grinder, and mix the egg powder into the soil (smaller pieces decompose faster). Some people steep eggshells, banana peels, and used coffee grinds for around 7 days and then blend it up to water/fertilize their plants. Or, you can just throw the shells into the compose and let nature/time do its thing.
I put eggshells in my compost and they get broken down and then I use my compost. Put it this way; I have a bag next to my stove and put everything in there and it goes into my compost. Banana peels, ends of veggies, coffee grounds, peels of any fruit or veggies, napkins. I have great compost. Also, I eat breakfast because I feel like I have to and it’s usually a light breakfast. Small lunch and medium dinner. Love your videos. 💜
I can eat breakfast morning, noon, & night with breakfast snacks in between every breakfast meal. I love eating all the roasted veggies with breakfast as well- asparagus, tomato, all peppers, etc., etc., etc.
Yes, egg shells and coffee grounds. I just put them together and all over the garden. I love your recipes. Breakfast is the most important meal of my day. I find that protein is what I need to kick my day off.
Yes tomatoes love the calcium. We cook them in the oven. But some people boil them. Then pulse them in the blender. Use the powder in the soil amendments.
Yes, crushed eggshells in my garden. Works nicely for adding calcium to tomato and other plants. And if you have a problem with snails coming in to eat your veggie plants, sprinkling broken eggshells around the perimeter of your plants will stop those little pests🐌
The eggshells take a year to fully decompose into the soil whether they are ground up or just crushed. They are used to add calcium which is good for tomatoes especially.
Amber I have been putting egg shells on the garden for years. It helps with nutrition for the plants, and it also keeps slugs away. Crush the shells and spread them for best results.
My mom always put eggshells and coffee grounds all over garden. Never certain plants…..just all over and she always had the best garden and produce. She also put them around the bottom of her grapes and rhubarb 😊
I save my egg shells and put them in my garden. I like to dry them (you can bake them, but I don't go to that trouble) and then grind them up. But I have friends you just crush them and put them in their gardens. Tomatoes like them!
I am a breakfast lover….. mom was a nutritionist and always made sure we had a big breakfast M-F weekends we got to have cereal (a treat she didn’t let us have all the time and no sweet stuff) I could eat breakfast anytime…. Great for dinner too! Fried eggs, sausage, potatoes in the air fryer and some sourdough toast with boysenberry jam is my go too! Cannot wait to try these!!
I put egg shell in my garden also mix egg shells in water a let it sit a couple of days, up to 5 days. Pour the water on your garden also. Let u know will stink.
Oh man this is a blessing! We just had our third child and this will be sooooo easy for my husband to make ahead to help our crazy unknown schedule out. Thank you! God bless!
Yes, plants like tomato, peppers and eggplants in particular will benefit from shell fertilizer, The extra calcium will help prevent blossom-end rot. Broccoli, cauliflower, Swiss chard, spinach and amaranth are also calcium-packed and could use extra from eggshells.
Yes, let the egg shells dry and then crush them, now they are ready to spread in your garden! That's a lot of food you take for your family night, do you take that much every week? The recipes today look so delicious! Thanks for sharing!
I make the potato casserole but we call them funeral potatoes and I crush up cornflakes mix with melted butter and top potatoes. If no cornflakes we use like Ritz crackers.
Hey Amber! Yes!, I use to save my egg shells all the time. I put them on a baking sheet and bake them at a lower temp until they completely dry out. Then I pulverize them in my ninja blender. To a powder. Lol. Then you can just sprinkle them on what you want. I put them on tomatoes, spinach, peppers, and even roses. But I'm pretty sure they are good for a lot more! I do coffee grounds too! My mom saves tea bags, but I'm not sure what plants those are good for. Btw, I always enjoy your videos! Hope you have a wonderful week!🥰
i keep egg shells and dry them in the oven (whenever I am baking smth, I put them into an oven save dish and into the turned off oven with the rest heat) and then grind them in my hands and throw that dust into my bokashi or compost. I prefer to sterilize them due to salmonella, maybe that would not be necessary though, but I prefer to do it like this. The dust has the advantage that it does not take so long until they dissolve into the soil. It is very good for roses I heard, I just like to use them because throwing them out seems a waste if they benefit the garden :)
I take my egg shells and bake them (400F, 10-12 min) then I grind them up and add them to my garden, and also feed them back to my hens (I know some people have issues with this, but they are broken up so fine). Also cinnamon is AMAZING for your garden. Add it to the soil to help with bugs issues. It also triggers the growth hormone in the plants. Also, eggs aren't dairy. My daughter and I are dairy free, we LOVE eggs. I"m not sure why people think eggs are a dairy, but you are not alone in that assumption.
Yes this is a thing...and also grinding them up to put in homemade dog food for calcium...also egg shells will deter snails because they don't like crawling over them
Hopefully you get this comment.. I sent you an email few days ago saying. I finally found your station on here. And I'm so glad I did, but I'm watching one of your videos in your asking. If there's such a thing as buttermilk powder and there is, it's in the baking section.
Amber do I bake the hash brown casserole covered? Or uncovered? Thank you for these recipes I will be making some of these for our family Christmas breakfast this year❤❤❤❤❤❤
Do you wash your blueberries before using? Organic only means no pesticides, it doesn't mean there is no dirt in there.....I always remember a few years back when there was an e-coli outbreak on some organic produce, caused by dirty hands of the pickers. Maybe I'm being too worried, but I always wash my produce including organic. Anyway, all those breakfast recipes look SO GOOD!!!
I love bread pudding and never tried the blueberry sauce but I want to The egg casserole dish is something I’ve always liked Now on the seed pill 1 it’s a huge pill and I don’t enjoy swallowing big pills even if it’s a capsule 2 It’s very expensive I don’t know why when something is so good for ya it’s crazy expensive I had diverticulitis surgery 2 years ago and I know this probiotic would be good for my gut but can’t afford it even with the 20% I enjoy your cooking videos 👍❤️
everything looks great. however if there was a link for the hashbrown casserole it's not in the description box. I appreciate everything you do on your channel and i love your videos.
