we did quite a cool one, underwater freestyle, so like the whole stroke including recovery was underwater.

      Fist swimming.
Always surprised when they aren't mentioned more. You won't go anywhere without a high elbow catch with fists...

Hey Heather! Thanks for these. It looks like the mid-phase scull one is happening in the vid at the catch instead of the mid-phase? Is that correct, is that what you wanted to show?

One arm drill breathing the side you are stroking. Such a good one to work on rotation and hip alignment

Looking at the zip unzip very similar to popov. But yours.goes.completly over and back while popov.is on the body.

Hi there, many are closed but many are also open across the globe - it also makes us excited for when the pools re-open, hopefully not too long 🤞

Hi Heather, found this looking for swim drills for my 11-13 year old pupils swimming sets. Great drills! Cheers from Chadders - Mr Best's mate.

Good timing. My pool opens back up on Monday. I've never done ANY swim drill, but your form is just so darn clean that I might be motivated to start. If I do I'll likely start at the basics tho, these are far too advanced for me haha

What is the difference between putting the pool buoy just above the knees vs just under the crotch? Is there a right way whereabouts you put the pool buoy between the legs?

I’m really struggling with drills. The essence is why bother? I get in, I swim, I get out. 100m sprints deliver and that’s it. I’m not fast but looking at an hour for an Ironman vs other bike and run times it’s seems senseless to focus on swimming. Help

With regular drill work should be able to get a 25m length done in 12-15 strokes with push off. You will also be swimming faster than you were with 18-20 strokes so on race day you could see a 25% recuction in stroke count, a faster time and lower heart rate. Its free speed and sets you up for a great race :)

These look really fun, something a bit different from the standard drills, or mindlessly swimming up and down 😂

I have not come across any age group triathletes who swim mindlessly up and down unless they are BOP swimmers 😂

Drills are my favorite part of swimming! I guess I always love the things other people think are boring... Definitely looking forward to giving these a try!
