I find myself revisiting this at the end of the New Lunar Republic v. Solar Empire battle on Derpibooru. This song always held a place in my heart being a Luna fan and much like the final chorus, so to did the forum wars play out. There needs to be an animation of the Soldiers marching onto the battlefield in the middle of a solar eclipse and on the other side of the field, the Armies of the Sun await to do battle. 4:50-4:58 should be a scene where the Unicorns on both side are summoning spells, weakening both. As the battle rages, the scene will expand to see Celestia and Luna playing a game of chess in the castle and end with the sound of a chess piece, particularly a king, falling, issuing checkmate

Today is the first time i hear this song. A breathtaking song. Can someone give me some background. What is this image, what is NLR and how is this related to horses?
It is a spinoff of Forest Rain's "Raise The Sun". Luna controls the moon, and her sister, Celestia, controls the sun. Forest Rain's variant is symbolized around Celestia, and this video is centered around Luna. There's also the image of a legion of horses in night-inspired armor. (Night, moon, and alike are representations of Luna in MLP: Friendship is Magic.)
When I listen to that song, in my mind I see Lunar Soldiers marching, like on a parade, and then when the guitar solo comes in, I see them fighting against the Solar Army. Then, when the Bass comes in, I see the battlefield after the battle. I the chorus after that, Lunar Army marching again, but not as many as before, only those who survived. They march with the NLR flag. And then, when the song is coming to an end, they are looking up at the moon.
This might just be the best song I've heard come out of the fandom, which place it above most other songs I've heard, even by contracted and popular artists. It might just be my military background that gives me a bias for this kind of thing, but the lyrics spoke to me like no other lyrics have before. That, and the grim, determined, and steady melody fit with the words and the message perfectly. I simply cannot give this enough praise. Well done, good sir. Well done.

I keep coming back to this - and this is what keeps me going some days, on repeat. I ran across this song just a few months ago, and since then it's become one of my all-time favorites in the fandom. I don't care as much for the speech near the beginning, but the rich instrumental, subtle vocals, and powerful sound, plus the iconic military motifs, combined with the grim-determined voices and stirring vocals, makes this one of the most unique - and moving - pieces I've ever heard. I'm damn amazed, and I hope the three artists responsible continue working together.

Personally I remember being on Team Cadence when she was introduced, but the "Cadence Confederacy" never really took off. As the show went on though, I became a firm supporter of the Solar Empire, and in general a bigger and bigger fan of Celestia. Still not exactly sure why, maybe the fact that literally everybody wants to be in the NLR. Gotta admit though, this was an early piece of brony music I found and I still love it. It may have actually only gotten better with time. I hardly dabble in MLP anymore, but this song is always worth listening to.
Same here, I know a good tune when I hear it..and there is a surprising amount of it in the MLP fan community. For how kiddy and girly the show is the fan music is pretty epic.
my MLP music playlist is almost as long as my normal music playlist. There's a lot to choose from that's good. Also I download bi-monthly MLP music torrents, and apparently there's a total of 500 GB of pony music that has been found and catalogued.

Sooo, it's been a while. I think you've made it fairly clear that you don't want to go back to music, but I just want to take a moment and appreciate this one (aside from the REALLY clever lyrics, which are frankly epic, the composition and singing is awesome). Even with MLP's season ending, and with the loss of a lot of our composers (R.I.P. CarbonMaestro, Evening Star, SFS, BlackGryph0n, and so many others), there's still really a lot of awesome unexplored stories and themes there that deserve songs or fan stories. I'm of the opinion that even for those artists who've went on to other musical subjects, we've really lost a lot of the inspiration that made their songs so great. I hope that one day you return, and can keep your style, even if you do choose a different theme.

I find myself revisiting this at the end of the New Lunar Republic v. Solar Empire battle on Derpibooru. This song always held a place in my heart being a Luna fan and much like the final chorus, so to did the forum wars play out. A triumphant call to arms among the Republic that fades away into a melancholic victory as we work together towards peace on the board again.

There needs to be an animation of the Soldiers marching onto the battlefield in the middle of a solar eclipse and on the other side of the field, the Armies of the Sun await to do battle. 4:50-4:58 should be a scene where the Unicorns on both side are summoning spells, weakening both. As the battle rages, the scene will expand to see Celestia and Luna playing a game of chess in the castle and end with the sound of a chess piece, particularly a king, falling, issuing checkmate

It is a spinoff of Forest Rain's "Raise The Sun". Luna controls the moon, and her sister, Celestia, controls the sun. Forest Rain's variant is symbolized around Celestia, and this video is centered around Luna. There's also the image of a legion of horses in night-inspired armor. (Night, moon, and alike are representations of Luna in MLP: Friendship is Magic.)

This song feels still like a new one. Maybe the older it is the better it gets.
When I listen to that song, in my mind I see Lunar Soldiers marching, like on a parade, and then when the guitar solo comes in, I see them fighting against the Solar Army. Then, when the Bass comes in, I see the battlefield after the battle. I the chorus after that, Lunar Army marching again, but not as many as before, only those who survived. They march with the NLR flag. And then, when the song is coming to an end, they are looking up at the moon.

This might just be the best song I've heard come out of the fandom, which place it above most other songs I've heard, even by contracted and popular artists. It might just be my military background that gives me a bias for this kind of thing, but the lyrics spoke to me like no other lyrics have before. That, and the grim, determined, and steady melody fit with the words and the message perfectly. I simply cannot give this enough praise. Well done, good sir. Well done.

I ran across this song just a few months ago, and since then it's become one of my all-time favorites in the fandom. I don't care as much for the speech near the beginning, but the rich instrumental, subtle vocals, and powerful sound, plus the iconic military motifs, combined with the grim-determined voices and stirring vocals, makes this one of the most unique - and moving - pieces I've ever heard.
I'm damn amazed, and I hope the three artists responsible continue working together.

Utterly stunning! The mix of the to vocals make a perfect match that I can liston to over and over again!
Personally I remember being on Team Cadence when she was introduced, but the "Cadence Confederacy" never really took off. As the show went on though, I became a firm supporter of the Solar Empire, and in general a bigger and bigger fan of Celestia. Still not exactly sure why, maybe the fact that literally everybody wants to be in the NLR.
Gotta admit though, this was an early piece of brony music I found and I still love it. It may have actually only gotten better with time. I hardly dabble in MLP anymore, but this song is always worth listening to.

Sooo, it's been a while. I think you've made it fairly clear that you don't want to go back to music, but I just want to take a moment and appreciate this one (aside from the REALLY clever lyrics, which are frankly epic, the composition and singing is awesome). Even with MLP's season ending, and with the loss of a lot of our composers (R.I.P. CarbonMaestro, Evening Star, SFS, BlackGryph0n, and so many others), there's still really a lot of awesome unexplored stories and themes there that deserve songs or fan stories.
I'm of the opinion that even for those artists who've went on to other musical subjects, we've really lost a lot of the inspiration that made their songs so great. I hope that one day you return, and can keep your style, even if you do choose a different theme.
