4:38 VISIT OF THE OBSERVER. Since WALTER did not wanted to poisen anymore as in the other episode were the Observer had turned up he scared her off with this obnoxious fruit ice cream recepy. I thougt that was clever
I seem to recall he also called her "Gretchen" once. Nearly made me fall out of the couch. 🤣🤣🤣 Astrid is such a lovably character. She was a side character but ended up being everyone's favorite. I forget which, but at one ComiCon the entire cast was in a Q&A panel, and almost every question was for Jasika Nicole, instead of the 3 main cast.
Thank you for "Gretchen" info. I made this video from the reference of FringeWiki Fandom web page. But I'll watch entire series again then probably find more names ;) These might be the materials of a possible future video.
LOL! I so enjoyed and looked forward in each episode to see what name he used for her! I LOL when he called her Afro! HAHAHA! That's the first time I thought the names have to be in the script because she never reacts. Or maybe she did and they cut it. Whatever, I loved it! I loved their friendship!
In some episodes he even called her Claire (apparently mixed with alternative's timeline research assistant, Carla Warren). Also, "Perfect! Astro, are we ready?" and she replied "Just about, Wally" :-D
This brought back good memories of the show. Their best scene I remember though, was when Walter remembered her name. "It's a beautiful name." "What is?" "Astrid"
'Astro' is my favorite. Wasn't that the name of the dog on the cartoon, 'The Jetsons?' Also, 'Afro' is a good one as Astrid has a afro hairstyle. Eventually, Astrid just gave up saying anything to Walter when he said her name wrong. She would only bring it up if he actually got it right, which I believe didn't happen till the finale. 'Ostrich' was a funny one, too!
Having watched this show a few times now there is no doubt he knew her name after a few times. He tends to forget names the first time as is often shown. But he had no trouble with for example Olivia or Broyles after meeting them a few times. And Astrid is with him every day in his lab. The thing i did notice is that when his mind is preoccupied with discovery or something exiting the name also is forgotten probably due to his altered brain. He uses nicknames to egg her on or joke. He often uses Astrid when he needs something. My dear out of care because he is fond of her or to tell her something to learn. Agent Farnsworth when he is either serious, dissapointed or his more alter ego mad.
@@rogerlynch5279 John Noble is so good in this I forget Walter isn't an actual person, he's by far the best character, such depth and emotion, again credit to Noble for that

I have recently read about how the producers and directors would mistreat Jasika Nicole and how she grew tired of this joke after the first seasons. Honestly, they should've toned it down
Jasika has made it clear that she was mistreated on the show. So sad. Her character is the most human character in a cast of damaged people. She's literally the heart and soul of the show and even though she's in the background, she adds so much to each scene. I think I like her the best.
Jasika Nicole has voiced for years and years what a shitty thing this was to do to her character for FIVE YEARS. Astrid is my favorite but there is no real defense for this bad joke and how LONG they made it at her expense
You know that the actress's name is Jasika and nof Astrid, right? Anyone who watched the show is in on the joke, multiple names are not a sign of disrespect, Walter's and Astrid's caring relationship is affirmed and validated many times over the series. I've never come across Ms Nicole's criticism of the whole thing but if she did comment on it in a negative way, she's a fool. No fan with a working brain would take Aspirin as a putdown.
It would be cringey how almost tokenish Astrid's character is if they hadn't almost-erased her so /well/. .... I am not sure whether they meant for it to be so perfect, but I've reached a point where it just makes me smile. :-)
It is a certain kind of love. It's either you have it or not. I have that with my brother. Playing around our names. Its a lovely relationship. You have no idea

Yeah. She looked at at Walter and said that he had called her by her real name. To which with a mischievous smile replies "did I?"
Funniest part is the fact that he’d get the alternate universe Astrid’s name correct every time! Hilarious!!!
Great compilation!!
