I just watched Bagdad Cafe again. I am SO glad to be able to see Ms Steele singing this song. Her voice is so smooth and lovely. It is as though the song flows from her, hauntingly beautiful. Thank you for posting this video. She is a lovely woman with a lovely voice.

if you look at lara's performance on this title.. she doesn't really sing very high, she sings a C5 in 2003 on the long belt note but she doesn't keep it for long she reduces to B4..., the note of jevetta is superb at 1.13 ... !!!!! , what is his grade? C5/D5 ???? beautiful .. lara is in fessous even in power when she sings in turn we hear a less piercing voice further .. it seems she sings 30 meters from the microphone compared to jevetta
@@odettefillon2088 Yes, Jevetta's timbre is more piercing. I've always felt that Lara's voice is comparable to a viola in terms of traditional instrumentation. I've noticed that many people are under the impression that Lara's voice is in the high range, whereas she is actually alto or mezzo-soprano.
@@RobLanderos Yes that's it ! yet she is indeed a lyrik soprano. I think she's one of the ''bass'' sopranos, but you're right, I thought that too for a while (rather a mezzo soprano) but she has low notes that aren't good for an illogical mezzo. nor an alto ... I think she sings low enough anyway for a soprano (its passagio)

Who is the Choir?
The choir is unnecessary. Lara has a lovely way to sing and Jevetta is perfect in this song.
The Lara Fabian critics here need to keep their nasty opinions to themselves as both of these women respect one another and are friends; as am sure they both would not appreciate all the negativity here by those who seem to want to trash either one of them.

Linda Kemp she can sing better then in this video but she keeps her voice down. it is some sort of respect to Jevetta as she sang it originally... even if she' cannot take her away she will stay calm in her singing she don't go on higher notes with Jevetta singing with her... hope it is clear now
