Just a correction. Ranger port was actually a community joke in the early days of EQ back then rangers although wearing chain had a very messed up AC scale and died quite frequently to easy mobs. It has long since been fixed but they died so often a joke started that they were just dying on purpose for a free port:-)
AC effected all classes equally through Luclin until the soft caps were put in. Rangers were just limited to squishier races than the average plate class and had less stamina. Their spells created a ton of aggro even more so than paladins and SK's. Flame lick would snap aggro on ANYTHING at pretty much any level of health remaining. They also used really fast weapons and weapons with aggro procs like the longsword that rooted things and made them turn on melees standing closest to their center which were usually rangers because wood and half elves had the smallest collision box radius along with gnomes. L50 war had 4k health. L50 Pal/SK had 3.5k L50 Ranger had 1750-2k depending on race. They would get hit once get perm aggro from low health agi debuff then die the next round.
I'm pretty sure it's called "ranger porting" (or commonly "ranger gating") because of the dead ranger meme. Back in the day they were thought to be tanks because they could taunt, but they would die more often because they couldn't wear plate gear and had lower hp/ac than other tanks. So people joked that rangers were always dead and porting back to their bind point. They were also commonly used as sacrifices to mobs that had Death Touch. Dying became known as ranger gating.
@@IonBlaze1 Yeah a Ranger gate is when a ranger dies because rangers were terrible. They were always dead. Also - Chatfontsize goes to 10. Otherwise some pretty good info in here. Well done!
I cant tell you how happy it made me whenI heard you say "Press End key to go down". How did I not know this been flying in circles to the ground for like 20+ years.
Thanks for the great content. Some of the stuff you mentioned I never knew about or had forgotten. One just small addition that I use and find helpful is to use the CTRL-SHIFT-Left Click when Im out in the field and want to price check an item. It does what you described, but is very easy to check prices when you find stuff. Looking forward to your future stuff.
My first day to play Everquest and I couldn't find the LOGOUT button to end the game,so I did Ctrl + Alt + Delete twice. ok? Pls advise how to log out button-where is it?

Man, this brings me back. #1 was life. Swarm charming was nuts. I must have hated my knuckles

Whoa! At 6:01 Tommi in Bloody Rapiers that is me right there! Still playing on Mangler too. Thanks for the cameo lol!
Wait no more spiral swimming to swim down? Holy cow I have been enlightened.
Yeah had no clue about it til maybe 2 weeks ago. It is slower than spiral swimming though.
Wow. These has been extremely helpful. Coming back to game after a long time away. Thank you.
I’m not sure when it started. But at one point you can /bazar anywhere in any one and buy. Same with /barter for quick selling to people.

End works great for controlling lev on a mount like the drog, (Black war drum) being an example :)
I've played alot of Everquest and 2 of these I actually never knew. Good content!
Insane how I only knew 1 of these, thanks for the vid!
Sweet. Thanks for watching.
You open to posting your bard Gina triggers? You have some neat timers that would be super helpful.
Yup. If you catch me in game, just send a tell. Usually on late night wed/thurs for raids
Do you have the EQ2 soundtrack playing as a custom thing or did they add it to EQ1 at some point?? Lol
I use eq2 music sometimes when I do editing.
Not complaining whatsoever, but merely curious. Why the Queen's Colody/Outpost of the Overlord theme BGM in an EQ1 video?
Hey are you able to help I got a heroic 85 toon spate to try always fancied a bard but no idea where to start are you able to help at all please ??? 😀
Where did you play? What server is that because i would love too play till planes of power but not after it!!!
Mangler but the new TLPs are dropping really soon. 27th of May
You should do the anniversary quests show ppl what’s up with all these anniversaries quests
How do you do the strafe lock? I tried Right mouse forward left click and enter but i must be missing something.
I think you mostly got it. Just gotta hold down the mouse click I think
If you ranger port via dueling, you lose exp if it's a players pet that kills you
The baz shit was nice i was wondering how to do this for a long time thanks
How do you do an auto lock strafe??
It's pressing the enter key when you do a normal strafe. If you press enter on any of the movement actions, it autolocks it.

@@dollors1 yeah I think you got it. Just strafe and press enter. That's all. No need for numberlock or any of that.
Lol ranger port, the intentional version of the ranger gate. Good times
Yeah it was super useful. Used it like 5 times when I was doing the epic to get around quick
In speedrunning it's called dying to save time. Nobody speedruns EQ of course but there are still little time saves to take some of the tedium off.
what are you using that shows those crit & kill shot popups?
Gina. Here's the link ruclips.net/video/xJSF_OzcnRw/видео.html
Another great video thanks
Thanks :)
great list!
/hidecorpse looted
Oh and never noticed velocity before. Must be fairly new.
GREAT INFO
It’s called a ranger port because ranger die when the get hit by a wet noodle.
Should turn off game sound when doing a video. The ocean in back ground makes it very difficult to hear.
thx for the tips
Nice vid!
Thanks :)
Trolls and Iksar have better hp regen
Holy shit I never realized EQ raids were 72 damn people. I thought 40 people in WoW was too hectic. Jesus.
sorry ,but the game has become too much hand-holding ,same thing that made me stop playing EQ2
Good video.
is it 1999? please say it's 1999 again
WTF man? Where were you 20 years ago??? Great tips though!
Haha thanks. 20 years ago I was in kindergarten!
