      You went to Boston? Dude good on you. Its a rough city. Spent a lot of time downtown. Played metal shows in one of the churches. Weird experience. Playing metal in the basement practicing and a fully robed catholic priest walks in. I stopped cause I fealt weird. He was totally cool with it. We were playing a song called "shampoo bottle penetration" I don't think he knew this but lol I sure as hell did. Great city.

      @Lil_lioness Месяц назад +16

      The way he was respectfully describing the victims, especially the 2 traffucked women that were beaten up that he had to encourage to prosecute. He seems really compassionate and also said that the city and state needs to do a better job at supporting addicts and the homeless. Cops get a bad reputation, but guys like this actually care.

    • @ruthsmith2447
      @ruthsmith2447 Месяц назад +7

      Wasn't it nice to hear him show compassion and understand that if you have all that against you, how are you meant to move forward without the help and compassion of other's? Most of us are just a few bad happenings( lose you job, get ill etc) from being in a vulnerable position-we don't all have support systems that can or will help,

    • @rudra62
      @rudra62 Месяц назад +3

      @@Lil_lioness Most police officers and former police officers are compassionate toward the victims - even if the victims themselves were involved in a crime, and will encourage people to help prosecute bigger and systemic crime. However, there are other cases of shooting a minority person, wrongly prosecuting or convicting an innocent person, as well as outright criming on the part of the police - accepting bribes or being involved with the gangsters themselves.
      They always say "a few bad apples". What they need to do, IMnsHO, is to lift the "blue line" thing, and actually report and help prosecute - or at least remove from the force - the criminals on the police force. Moreover, other (smaller) police forces need to stop hiring those who were removed for another police force because of them being a "bad apple".

    Hey Mike, I met you and your videos during the hardest time in our lives. As I sat next to my wife during the COVID as she laid very sick not being able to eat or anything. After 5 days I had COVID but was able to take all my meds, she couldn't. We took her to the hospital and never saw her again till she got to the funeral home. During this time I saw All the videos I could. Man your Awesome brother. You helped me cope during this time and till today. My wife passed away August 2020. Continue All the Good things you are able to do and we appreciate you Brother, Love you man 🙏👍🤟

      @BushidoCode82 Месяц назад +17

      So sorry to hear about your wife 😢
      Also, I relate in the sense that Mike/ his informational, educational, intelligent and witty videos have also been helping me to cope with getting out of a Narcissistically Abusive Relationship, the passing of my 17 year old German Shepherd Rottweiler, Abbey, the loss of my home I lived in for 14 years (forced to sell due to pre-foreclosure due to the abusive relationship) and while at the vet, saying goodbye to Abbey, the final day before I needed to be out of my home, the guys that were supposed to just be scrapping my washer and dryer, ended up robbing my house (over $3,500 worth of items, plus all of my daily NECESSARY medication)
      😮a whole lot of trauma in less than 24 hours.. oh .. AND, my ex was arrested the weekend before all of those events, he was arrested for showing up extremely intoxicated, provoking and harassing me, chasing me around the house, the neighbors called the police and even though there's a stay away order of protection, the cops didn't do anything right then, they said if he comes back or anything else happens to call them back.. 😳 Thankfully my neighbor's wife was at my house when he came back refusing to leave until I gave him a slice of pizza.. The cops were called again and he did take off, only because I finally gave him a slice, I couldn't stand listening to him run his mouth and demand pizza until the officers arrived, they caught up with him shortly after.
      I'm now finally healing, or at least trying to. I know I am in a safe place at the moment and he won't be out until at least October because this is his 3rd time incarcerated for violence against me and/or violating the order of protection.
      I watch these videos and think, "Omg, some of these cases sound eerily familiar, I am thankful to be on this side watching them. But, certainly if anything ever did happen to me or something happened like the topics in these videos, I would hope to have our amazing Mike/That Chapter, covery my stories 😅
      Sorry for the long winded response. I guess I had a lot to say tonight 😅
      And again, I truly am so sorry for the loss of your wife, it sounds like you loved her very much. Losing a loved one is so extremely painful, I'm glad you were able to find and use these videos as a coping technique. Binge watching That Chapter is more like self care, less like self "pain"
      🙏🏼😔 I hope you're feeling better/ these days and thank you for sharing a piece of your story and strength with all of us.
      💌Many blessings your way 🙏🏼

      Having lived here for the majority of my life, I must say that Boston has quickly become an expensive and undesirable shithole. My monthly rent for a one-bedroom apartment is $2,400 and the quality is subpar. The exorbitant taxes,traffic, crime rates, opioid epidemic, and presence of unvetted & never-ending flow of illegal immigrants all contribute to the city's decline. Governor Healey even expects Massachusetts residents to open their homes to these immigrants. With all the existing issues in Boston and throughout the country, we certainly do not need to add to them by importing more problems.

      Good for you, my sister! I too am an addict living in recovery for 15 years now, thank God! I had to leave my husband because he was not ready to get sober and we have an amazing daughter, so she and I left to escape the dangerous and unhealthy drug world. We too started to do charity work because I wanted her to be an active and productive member of our city's community. We donated, raised money and she organized a creek clean up at the tender age of 9! She graduated Phi Beta Kappa Magna Cum Laude from UC Santa Cruz and now works with adults with disabilities, helps them find work, apartments and schooling. I myself work with children with special needs (,Autism, CP, Downs etc) and feel blessed to be able to do this work! But as you said, those dark days are never far from my mind and I'm grateful I got out when I did, because I would've ended up in jail or dead. But now, I share a beautiful life with my grown daughter (,26) and thank the powers that be that I survived! Side note.. my ex husband finally got clean last year and is able to have relationships again with his daughters! And he and I have become friends again as well, we forgave each other for our drug addled mistakes and I am able to help him through his struggles to stay sober. I feel so fortunate that we all have a second chance. I just wanted to respond to your comment to let you know there are others out there like you!! Keep up the great work, my fam! ❤

    This former Boston Policeman’s accent was an instant trigger for me. Complete panic attack. At seven years old, in late 1975, I found myself sitting on the curb in front of Harvard graduate student housing. I was freezing cold, crying inconsolably, shaking uncontrollably while I heard the cops tell my mother to just try to get along better with my step-father, who had just beat s#*T out of her. They did NOTHING. The neighbors who called the cops because I came to their door pleading for help were dumbfounded and enraged at this response. Actually, several neighbors had gathered at this point with the same sentiment. So much so, that these fine ‘upstanding’ irish-American cops threatened to call for the riot unit. Meanwhile, me, just this little kid completely breaking down on the sidewalk and not one cop looked out for me. Fortunately two female bystanders got me a warm blanket and a glass of chocolate milk. My mothers face and chest were bruised and bleeding. Again, all those cops did was send us back inside with this maniac. Domestic violence was clearly acceptable to the Boston Police Department. Please don’t attack this post. It took four years to get away from that creature. Clearly this has left quite a scar on me and my mother and fellow family members.

Born and died in the streets of Boston, ultimately of a drug overdose in Roxbury about 30 yards from Mass and Cass. His accent and stories remind me (of the otherside) of my dad's stories. RIP Dad

    This was an amazing interview. I grew up near Boston and the city has such an incredible history. Joe is captivating at telling these stories, this man needs his own RUclips Channel! I will certainly visit Joe's Tour next time I am in Boston.
