Nederland ISD school superintendents in the future... NEVER tell (or hire) the band director to change this marching style. It is the most educational and honorable marching style, and is proven to be music educationally sound.
(Aggie Band '76, French High School, north end Beaumont, '72) Great job! The sound was EXCELLENT! As Jared said, sometimes the band is facing in two different directions, the sound is bouncing off the stands, and you can't see the drum majors to stay on the beat. Y'all were spot on!
I was pleased, when the band was spread out on the field from goal to goal, there was no phasing issues...I have marched in drill where the band is so far apart, you aren't sure who to listen to, because the distance the sound travels is almost a second off from where you are stepping on the down beat...And worse, when half your band is playing one direction while you are pointed the other, you aren't quite sure if you are hearing the band, or the reverb...
