Incidentally, I do like the flapper, type muffler, like ur buddy made, they can be made, by using paper and gaffe tape, very simple. But for ease of use, I do use gels, clear ones though, they turn an ugly honey amber color, over time, but they do not stain the batters. Thanks again!! Keep up the hard work, I’ll keep watching!!

If the difference only lies in snare strainers, a good drumset snare with careful retrofitting might save the day for students. Concert snare prices are prohibitive compared to average drumset snares. I'd like to hear your thoughts about that since you're a renowned educator. Maybe a good topic for future videos? How to retrofit drumset snares for concert purposes? Thank you very much for your work and dedication.
Hi Yes you can make a regular snare drum into a concert drum. Change the heads, (snare diplomat bottom, batter diplomat top), get some black swamp snares, Die cast hoops and you should be good to go. Keep in mind that you will not have the advantage of a 3 way Pearl or 4 way Majestic strainer but you can replace that as well.
Could you elaborate on why there is a difference between orchestral snare strainers and drum set snare strainers? Or is there a reason I wouldn't want to use an orchestral snare on a drum set?
