I’m not kidding I did almost the exact same thing when I was 19. I met this guy and got so nervous that a British accent came out. I convinced him I was from Bristol and made up a whole fake life about me and my family. I went to school in NYC so it wasn’t so hard to believe some random Brit was chillin in the US. Anyway on our date we played two truths and a lie and I said “Im from Birmingham, I’m a twin, and I’ve had heart surgery.” He guessed heart surgery which is actually true, but I was like nah bruv I’m from Bristol. I couldn’t stop myself, I had kept it up for 2 hours. He wanted to exchange contact info with me but I told him I hadn’t set up my phone for the US yet and I didn’t have a facebook because I had a stalker. We only went on 1 date, but this dude thoroughly believed I was British for 3 years until he found me on facebook through a mutual friend. He surprisingly wasn’t mad and we had a good laugh and have remained friends.
