Kind of… we travel north to the lone pine area, we end up stopping at the Cerro Gordo mine. The 190 closed that’s cuts to Vegas so we had to go south again to get home. We couldn’t pass up the lake without trying again lol. We stayed in kernville and fished for a couple hours in the morn with worms and a PB gets broken

Service to the country? What did they do for this country????? NOTHING! The military helps the United Nations. They are United Nations minions murdering and destroying other countries for their resources and to over throw their leaders who have been fighting against the NWO. In short...they help the commies. UNLESS they swore an oath to defend our BILL OF RIGHTS our True superior law and inalienable rights they are helping the enemy within. All of your comment was true except the first 7 words. Let me tell you a little TRUE story about the fraudulent war in Iraq. This came from a soul dier that was there and he BRAGGED about..." the Green Baret would go in and make sure the coast was clear and then they would signal the troops to enter the village(s) The troops would kick doors in the residents door and MURDER innocent men, women and children while they were at home watching TV." IRAQ had NOTHING to do with 911. NOTHING!!!!! This war was an Israel Netanyhu war. 911 was a Mossad (Israels CIA) and USA CIA. All the Iraqi's were doing was trying to defend themselves against the USA's INVASION. It makes me sick when I hear people say..."Thank you for your service." While our BORDERS are wide open and our enemies from within are funding them (with our tax dollars) while our sovereign nationals are starving, and homeless living in tent cities or under bridges. WAKE UP. It is BOTH parties too. Our enemies OWN both.

What makes the Kern River so dangerous is the huge boulders under water that have currents that will suck you down between them and hold you there under water. Very dangerous. Sad to see Isabella so empty but i love it when you guys visit my home town of Ridgecrest, Indian Wells Valley and the surrounding areas. Thanks guys! 👍

    • @robbie5138
      @robbie5138 2 года назад +1

So multiple reasons makes the Kern River Dangerous, I live in the area and know. Boulders in this canyon can be size of a Semi Truck, when River is flowing it's got numerous sections of class 5 rapids. Water is also 58-60° so it can shock your body into a heart attack. Lots of people play in Keysville where rocks are slippery and it goes straight into Really rough water. Rn the river isn't to deadly but don't sleep on it there are dead bodies every year.

Thank you so much for featuring my favorite fishing lake . My friends live in cal city which is 75 miles away and this is the closest lake to their town.
I've fished Isabella many times and the trick is to go early in the day. It always gets windy there and if you happen to be there on a calm day, call it a lucky day. Most of the anglers fish the south end for crappie and the catfish are at the dam area. They have been doing the dam project for over a year now.
The town has what you need to buy food for camping or a hotel.
There is a badass tackle shop and convenience store in town, and I've bought some funny hats there. Ridgecrest is an awesome town. I like that they have a walmart supercenter, plenty of fast food , and a touchless car wash.
Thanks again for visiting my spring getaway.

Senior, you truly have a son to be proud of. Junior, you asked what those movies were called, those westerns, it made me think of my dad (he passed over 40 yrs ago at the young age of 62). He was a WWII Marine and swore like a sailor so I hope you’ll overlook the language. He had his own name for westerns. He’d tell me, "Hey Pup, there’s a good shit kicker on TV tonight." I doubt it ever occurred to him to check his language since I was only about 3 or 4. 😂 And nobody ever told him to watch his language either because, well, because he was a Marine.
If you’ve never, you guys should come to Minnesota to fish. You won’t have to spend $300 to get to a lake! You can fish one of the many lakes within Minneapolis or it’s a short trip in any direction to a good fishing lake. Have an adventure & drive 3 hours to Lake Superior (also a very dangerous lake- she never gives up her dead dontcha know). Fish from the shore, a boat or take out a charter and troll with downriggers. Superior has 80 species of fish including lake trout, steelhead, salmon, bass, walleye, and northern pike. We call ‘em northerns. There’s an abundance of smaller streams in that up north area to do some fly fishing too. If you want a change from the heat come enjoy a Minnesota winter and do some ice fishing. Then you can try out spear fishing too!
You boys can stay at my house. But be warned… no cleaning fish in my kitchen! 😝 yuk 😆

Just subscribed. Been enjoying your content for a few months now. All I can say as encouragement is to say that change is the only constant. Things will change whether we want it to or not. The water will return and so will the fish. I can't wait to see what you catch next time. Cheers!

Sweet sharing some memories as I used to live in Kernville. Great summer place to fish both lake as well as river/creek. If you are in Kernville go to Ewings on the Kern. Step to the edge of the parking lot, down 40 ft to view the river. You will notice huge dark shadows of the fish. If you like a short hike. As you enter Kernville there's a road that steers to the left. Follow the road til it ends. (5 miles). The "Bull Run trail leads up a creek. Follow it up past the burial ground, and there's a smalll pond. It actually is a mine shaft the filled over the years. It always has some of the biggest Golden trout I have fished. Thanks again for the video.

That looks like 178 out of Bakersfield. That road is Very narrow and ends out by Ridgecrest/395/14. We go out to Mojave a lot to go riding, but we use the 58 through Tehachapi. The dam at Lake Isabella is very unstable, and many claim it will collapse. My Brother In law owns a cabin in Alta Sierra, and I have been up there Many times, but NEVER knew there was a ghost town (I’ve been to Kernville many times). Very interesting. Thank you for your Service to our Great Country.

We used to go to lake Isabella all the time. Back 15-20 years ago it was very full and extremely busy in the summer. Drove by the lake in June of this year and water was at the dam. So sad to see it in this condition

hey guys, great video as usual. couple notes, when you were talking about john wayne, the person in the picture you showed was actually clint eastwood and the phrase jr was looking for was spaghetti (Italian) westerns. clint eastwood was in 'spaghetti' westerns, john wayne was in american westerns. ;)

We were on that road a few years ago. Scared the crap out of me! My husband wanted to drive home coming back on that road. I told him he could go if he wanted to and I would call my brother-in-law to pick me up. Definitely not for the faint of heart! Shame to see that lake so low! Good video guys!

it's 38 degrees right now in Minnesota, the fall colors are on the trees and the DNR are pulling all the docks off of the lakes because they will be frozen over by mid November or so. we have also been in a drought all summer long and the Mississippi River is down 2 feet below it's norm...

I was born and raised in Ridgecrest. Burroughs Burros alumnus. We used to camp at the KOA near the lake growing up as it was only an hour away. Then we'd stop off at Onyx Store to stock up on sausage and bacon. Fun memories. I remember the lake being high almost to the back of the campground. You guys drove through the canyon? That's really narrow road. I grew up knowing that you didn't mess around with the Kern River. I remember the Kernville airport being under water due to the lake being high when I was a kid. I have never seen this lake so low. I remember seeing tree branches sticking up off of the water. We fished from the shore when I was a kid but we never caught anything.

I always enjoy your videos! In 1983, I caught an 11lb 1ounce large mouth with a Rapala Fat Rap. I was 13, fishing with my dad. He's passed away in 2002. I still have the fish mounted and the original lure.
What great fishing memories, now and forever. That was the only fish we (me) caught.

I really enjoyed this! I was born in Ridgecrest, and grew up in a little wide spot in the road just west of Walker’s Pass, (east of Isabella) Sad to see how much the lake has shrunk. Friends that still live in the area call it Lake Isapuddle. That road through “the canyon” brought back memories too. Went to college in Bakersfield, so made that drive frequently.

watching this i'm reminded of australia in the 20 teens lots of water catchments were extremely low my states total water capacity was below 20%. our local dam was down to 5% and many others were deemed DRY. now we are in el nino and we are releasing about 15% of our major dams capacity for flood mitigation
