What makes the Kern River so dangerous is the huge boulders under water that have currents that will suck you down between them and hold you there under water. Very dangerous. Sad to see Isabella so empty but i love it when you guys visit my home town of Ridgecrest, Indian Wells Valley and the surrounding areas. Thanks guys! 👍
So multiple reasons makes the Kern River Dangerous, I live in the area and know. Boulders in this canyon can be size of a Semi Truck, when River is flowing it's got numerous sections of class 5 rapids. Water is also 58-60° so it can shock your body into a heart attack. Lots of people play in Keysville where rocks are slippery and it goes straight into Really rough water. Rn the river isn't to deadly but don't sleep on it there are dead bodies every year.
Great show you guys! You’re in my back yard, my dad taught me and my brothers fish in the Kern River. It’s definitely not what it used to be! We still fish the river, hit and miss! I have access to a private pond, I planted large mouth, catfish, trout in two ponds, only bass and catfish left, some of the original bass 5 pounds +! They are growing fast! Thank you for your service and your family site.

You know what they say about the worst day of fishing. Maybe the heat has driven the fish to deep place to hide out till it cools down. As for me I really appreciate the information about how the lakes are doing. You guys do a great job.
hey guys, great video as usual. couple notes, when you were talking about john wayne, the person in the picture you showed was actually clint eastwood and the phrase jr was looking for was spaghetti (Italian) westerns. clint eastwood was in 'spaghetti' westerns, john wayne was in american westerns. ;)
Thank you so much for featuring my favorite fishing lake . My friends live in cal city which is 75 miles away and this is the closest lake to their town. I've fished Isabella many times and the trick is to go early in the day. It always gets windy there and if you happen to be there on a calm day, call it a lucky day. Most of the anglers fish the south end for crappie and the catfish are at the dam area. They have been doing the dam project for over a year now. The town has what you need to buy food for camping or a hotel. There is a badass tackle shop and convenience store in town, and I've bought some funny hats there. Ridgecrest is an awesome town. I like that they have a walmart supercenter, plenty of fast food , and a touchless car wash. Thanks again for visiting my spring getaway. Brad Bern
Me and Senior have a lot in common. I also joined the Army at 17, but I switched over to the Navy after 5 years and retired from the U.S. Navy a couple of years ago. Great video guys! Sorry you didn’t catch anything, but it was really cool to see what’s going on up there. Thanks for putting in the hours on this one!
I was out on lake Isabella last summer and got skunked! Makes me feel so much better to see some experienced anglers like yourself have a tough time too! Thanks for sharing your experience and insight!
Sweet sharing some memories as I used to live in Kernville. Great summer place to fish both lake as well as river/creek. If you are in Kernville go to Ewings on the Kern. Step to the edge of the parking lot, down 40 ft to view the river. You will notice huge dark shadows of the fish. If you like a short hike. As you enter Kernville there's a road that steers to the left. Follow the road til it ends. (5 miles). The "Bull Run trail leads up a creek. Follow it up past the burial ground, and there's a smalll pond. It actually is a mine shaft the filled over the years. It always has some of the biggest Golden trout I have fished. Thanks again for the video.
I had the honor of running into you on 10/10/22. I saw you gassing up in lone Pine. Ive been watching you for a while now and I had no idea we are from the same stomping grounds. Im from Ridgecrest as well. Small world man. it was a pleasure chatting with you , however short it was. Keep doing what youre doing man. I said I couldnt wait for the next video, and I meant it. Greetings from Idaho! Really great to see the two of you. I can’t comprehend that is Lake Isabella.😢 Are they encouraging people to fish out the lake due to the water capacity being so low?
Hey Senior. Thanks for your service. With your attitude and outlook on life, you must have been a great soldier and now I see so much of you in your son. He is following in his fathers footsteps, being a real man that honors his country and his family.
I live out here in Indiana where even your dried up lakes are massive lakes compared to what I am used to fishing on. Our lakes get hot in like June and late July Try bottom bass fishing with really big night crawlers. And fish at night for them. Sorry if I have to teach y'all how we do it back east here. Haha! I love your show. Keep it up my friend. Thank you for your service.
I really enjoyed this! I was born in Ridgecrest, and grew up in a little wide spot in the road just west of Walker’s Pass, (east of Isabella) Sad to see how much the lake has shrunk. Friends that still live in the area call it Lake Isapuddle. That road through “the canyon” brought back memories too. Went to college in Bakersfield, so made that drive frequently.

@@angelmist4253 I'm sorry for your loss Angel. I lost my Father when he was only 56, suddenly, and still miss him & think of him daily. Do you have any stories of him/memories you'd like to share? I'd love to hear them.
That's awesome Michael, that you've built a relationship with your Father, after all the years!! Forgiveness is powerful! ✌💛
love seeing the father / son relationship! very positive, and great bonding for you guys!
You know what they say about the worst day of fishing. Maybe the heat has driven the fish to deep place to hide out till it cools down. As for me I really appreciate the information about how the lakes are doing. You guys do a great job.
hey guys, great video as usual. couple notes, when you were talking about john wayne, the person in the picture you showed was actually clint eastwood and the phrase jr was looking for was spaghetti (Italian) westerns. clint eastwood was in 'spaghetti' westerns, john wayne was in american westerns. ;)
Thank you for the history. You guys are only getting better.
Thanks so much for sharing with us. IMDB shows that 193 films were filmed in Kernville.
Thank your for your service! My entire family, is and was Army.

Thank you both for uploading these great videos!! Love the channel and content!! Keep up the good work gentlemen!!
Appreciate you guys getting into the history of the spots you fish, too. Awesome channel. Hope I can fish w you guys next time I’m in Vegas!
Man I was starting to think it was impossible for you guys to get skunked lol I know the feeling all to well!! As always great content
Me and Senior have a lot in common. I also joined the Army at 17, but I switched over to the Navy after 5 years and retired from the U.S. Navy a couple of years ago. Me and my daughter are very close, much like Senior and Junior. Fish or no fish, I think it’s awesome that you guys are so close and get to hang out!! That’s what family is all about.
Y’all are great guys and I love watching y’all videos thanks❤❤👍🏽
I go to Vegas a lot. I’ve learned some new things to see from you guys. Like the rams at the park. That was real cool and my kids liked it too.
I spent 15 years in Henderson and took my kids to the lake all the time, taught them how to shoot and respect a firearm, thank you for growing your channel and keeping it informative and teaching family values and the importance of respecting the outdoors. Just wanted to say thank you for bringing back so many great family memories. P.S. seriously ended the video with a fish on, I am a big bass fisherman and am dying to know what you landed.
Thank you for sharing a part of the world I wouldn't know anything about without your video. The two of you are very entertaining.
Keep up the great content my friends
I'm from Trona! You know where that's at if you're from Ridgecrest. I live out in New Mexico now, but I was back home a couple weeks ago. I appreciate you making these videos from out there. Brings back some good memories.

Great video guys! Sorry you didn’t catch anything, but it was really cool to see what’s going on up there. Thanks for putting in the hours on this one!
Thank you for your service to our country, God bless you and your family.
Thank you, but really I don’t want anything, take a vet fishing
I was out on lake Isabella last summer and got skunked! Makes me feel so much better to see some experienced anglers like yourself have a tough time too! Thanks for sharing your experience and insight!
Enjoy being with your pops. My father left when I was 7. He left myself and 2 sisters and I never heard from him again. I love watching your videos!
Thanks for your dedication to check out the drought conditions in Nevada and California
Not disappointed!!
Hi guys, beautiful video! Thanks for sharing! Enjoy your weekend! Keep Spinning and Winning! Cheers....
Your channel 😍 has been educational! So is Choke Canyon outside Tilden an Three Rivers Tx! Flooded a town turned into a Lake!! I do think our water claims it's land back!! Drought,Floods, momma nature..
Nice video once again! You guys need to make your way over to Lake Nacimiento and slay the White Bass. Its a few hours west of there. But bro its totally up you ally, they're a blast to catch, Look it up...
Thanks for the positive video, fished there before ten years ago.cought stringer full of cat fish.on the old dam side in the washway.
Always great guys!! Thank you for being you and sharing with me☺️♥️
Greetings from Idaho! Really great to see the two of you. I can’t comprehend that is Lake Isabella.😢 Are they encouraging people to fish out the lake due to the water capacity being so low?
Another great video. Thank you from Canada getting ready for winter.
Our lakes get hot in like June and late July
Try bottom bass fishing with really big night crawlers.
SCO Good to see you out here in kern county at lake Isabella, would of been nice to to meet you both.
Great video as always.👍🏽👊🏽
Thanks for all the interesting information. I live in the Midwest and don’t really know anything about that area. Appreciate your videos.

Always great to watch your videos. Not sure what will happen with lake mead issue but no matter what you guys are covering you will always have an audience. Great father and son team.

This video reminded me of a Merle Haggard song called Kern River. Talks about the area and how dangerous it is. Love your channel btw keep it up
