That's a nice-looking bike and that was a good succinct review. I think just looking at it and knowing the specs, could have some thinking it may not be worth it. I am seeing $2800 as a price for this one and I bet if most people rode it they would probably understand the cost a bit more. Unfortunately, $2800 is cost prohibitive to a lot of folks. The R&D that go into these bikes probably make an average rider feel like a pro and a pro rider thinking, " if their base model is this good what is the top model like?" This is coming from a guy who has owned quite a few older specialized bikes and I have enjoyed each and every one of them. They just do the riding Dynamics right and all of mine have been solid Dependable bikes as far as I'm concerned, (Plus they look good😊). If I could realistically afford this bike I'm sure it would be worth $2,800 easy. But that's me. I love my 2008 Roubaix by the way😉... Cheers folks!

After agonizing between Defy, Diverge, I went with the SL8 for best comfort for me. Laundry's on sale this week for 2400.

A tiagra on a Roubaix. Wow. Just wow.

My diverge has tiagra gears and they work great

@@rudyelizondo1935 I'm sure they do, but Tiagra has no place on a modern Roubaix.

I have an extra Ultegra crank…with some decent wheels I wonder what this thing would weigh.

9.64 kgs is about 1 kg heavier than my SL7 with mechanical Ultegra. I'd be more interested in knowing the weight of those wheels and tyres and how the SL8 rides compared with the SL7 - no differently, I guess.

Funny. Only one side has light reflection like paint on the tire. If that is indeed for reflection.

I was on the market for a good endurance bike and I was eagerly waiting for the SL8 after seeing the improvements of the Tarmac, needless to say I bought a Defy the Roubaix was almost 2 kg heavier.

Im 49. Looking for my first road bike where I can finally catch up to some roadies in my area. Would this Roubaix be good or an Allez be better? I like to ride a lot and go fast.

Allez is an excellent bike and a great advertisement for quality alloy frames. It has the same geometry as a Tarmac so will be a fantastic ride but be honest - at your age do you want a racy riding position? You should be aiming for enjoyable, quality rides rather than all-out speed. Roubaix is superbly comfortable even over a 100 mile endurance event.

@@bendenisereedy7865 That's exactly what I was thinking. I guess I wanted to see if the Allez might be as comfortable as the Roubaix but lighter, lol. Thank you for your reply!

My Canyon Grail AL 6 from 2021 cost 1600 and weighed 9.5 kilos. This is a joke for the price wtf. 9.6 kilo carbon frame bike for 3k

They had things like the future shock and hydraulic disc brakes on a carbon frame?
