The vocaloid song "Gomenne Gomenne" by Kikuo is guilty of this. Song is a banger, but then you read the lyrics... then you realize what the lyrics mean...
When i first listened to it, it was like "okay" to me then after some days i return to it and listened again, and then again and more often, sometimes even now i still get back to this song. This cover is absolute banger
It was brought up in an IRyS stream that her voice stood up a lot during the interlude compared to the other girls, here Sora unknowingly explained the reason why that's the case.
Regardless how clueless Sora was about the context of the song when making this project, I could say this cover was still well-received. . . for some reasons. :)
As a Vocaloid fan, it was a big surprise when this came out. We wouldn't expect Sora chan release this, and this explains it all. I thought after HOT LIMIT she decided to explore her... Wildest side.
I remember when I first listened to that song and thought, "Oh, this sounds like a pretty sexy song." Then when I listened to it again a few years after Japanese had improved quite a bit, I was pretty much suprised-pikachu face the whole time. I thought it was a joke when I heard that group was doing a cover at first.
3:25 even though the chorus were split in pairs, I think I can hear Calli's deep lower register blending in the background that helped harmonizing them way more even though Calli's pair is just one part of the chorus
I imagine it's not thinking about what the lyrics are alluding to just like how people didn't know how Old Town Road by Lil Nas X was about having gay sex.
In rhythm games, even if it's in your language, you won't listen to the song or only barely, because you're to busy focusing on the game and rhythm of the music. That's my guess.
The song aren't that vulgar and using a lot of euphemism, so it's understandable that it probably fly over her head at first. even western popular song has a lot of songs that people didn't know the lyric is about seggs.
As an example of the meaning of the lyrics going over the head of everyone's, Outkast's "Hey Ya!" was enjoyed by my conservative family as "having class," I went, "Yeah, but weren't you the one dissing on African American culture for being 'uncouth'?" deep inside my heart. Sometimes I get it, some songs slap without going through the meaning of the lyrics. This phenomena is also exemplified by white nationalists singing, "Killing in The Name Of," by Rage Against The Machine, ironically about a song against their aspirations (of reverting America back to white people as the top of the ruling class in an unfair society).
Bless Sora for somehow missing the meaning until well after the recording and song's release. Though tbf, that's also just the typical Vocaloid song experience...
ITS funny how everyone in holo when they see a thin like memberships like that or superchats most of the Time they say dont do It but the most veteran ones say dont over do It since they know that saying dont fout everybody Will end up doing It XD Really wholesome if you ask me
Uhh... so basically, the screenshot in the video was taken around December 2022/January 2023 during our Quality Check phase... we definitely took our sweet time getting this clip ready! 😅 3 days before we made this video public, the music video was at 3.5M views, it is now at 3.67M as of writing.

"I watch it for the plot"
"I sing it for the melody"
We know that feel: When the song slaps so hard, you didn't know what it means til much later
I have a Spotify playlist titled "Songs that bop but actually contain questionable lyrics"

I mean theres song about suicide but they make it to dance music haha, what it's? Yoasobi if im not mistaken

Those who don't know, Sora really likes Vocaloid music. Lyrics won't stop her from singing her favorite songs.
I feel like Suisei definitely knows…
I think everyone but Sora definitely knows
does she know?
4:21 I just realised there are the reflection of comments scrolling in Sora's eyes
That's a good clip channel there

it's incredible to hear just how much organization went into the song
all the overseas bros can relate. we keep listening to a lot of these songs not knowing a word of japanese and still think they're bangers
thanks for the clip, I couldnt find any clips of her ever talking about the creation of this song until now. you rock.

I really like that effect of the comments reflected in Sora's eyes (at 4m:21s in the video ) XD
That's cool!
The moaning part that highlights Irys voice was Sora's doing. No wonder Irys said she didn't know why the management never told her...
It so happens that Sora _was_ one of several holomen who took part in that Ifuudoudou song cover
the thumbnail is hilarious
what was she cooking, bro

I'm used to not knowing what a song means in a foreign language... But in your own language? Lol

sora-chan so cute, great cover by amazing diva idol unit.
It's okay Sora. I don't know the lyrics either, I just like how the song cover was along with the picture of everyone looking NICE!
But Sora, my dear, the first line of the song are nothing but moaning sounds, and the art is basically all divas on lingerie!

wait, so the music first was initiated by Sora ?
Yup, it was her idea to do that song in the first place, and the idea to do _a_ song was inspired by that fanart used in the song MV.
