I don’t normally go for animal prints but you look so good in that zebra jumpsuit! Thanks for the pattern ideas. I also want to make more lounge-y dresses and overalls. The older I get the more I want to stay in my pajamas 🥲
I love your linen gingham, the colours are so pretty. For myself I'd go for the maxi length. I like to have some long skirts and dresses to wear for when I can't be arsed to shave my legs. Not that anyone has to shave their legs ever at all for any reason, I'm just not evolved enough to feel comfy with visibly hairy legs. That's my own hang up; thanks, Patriarchy!
Lovely collection of patterns! I have made the Sew Over It Kitty Dress twice, both times I used cotton and made the gathered skirt. I then made the panelled skirt as a skirt in a linen viscose fabric. I like them all, although the skirts are more volyminous than I am used to. I made the version with sleeves both times, one with shawl collar and one with the revere collar. I found them a very straightforward sew. The sleeveless versions seem to involve some serious "easing in" and I am not good at that so I haven't tried them yet. I would go for an even more floaty fabric if making the panelled version again. It's a lovely dress.😊
thank you for sharing your experience--it's very helpful! i just ordered some liberty tana lawn to make the dress so hopefully it goes well. fingers crossed!
The Sezane dress reminds me of the French Poetry Robe Etoile pattern. I, too, am trying to copy some Sezane looks this summer. I can't wait to see your makes!
I love all of the patterns that you mentioned. I don’t think you could go wrong with either jumpsuit. I can’t wait to see your summer makes. ❤ Happy Sewing Friend!
I enjoy watching your channel, you always get straight to the point when showing your garments. You have very nice taste in clothing. Thank you for sharing....always,Sheryll
This is definitely the summer of the romper. Join me. 😉 I want to make more! This video is trouble. I want to make all of the summer dresses now!! 😂 Loving the inspo. Thanks, Sara!
i know that it has a closed back option but the open back is one of my favorite features of the pattern. it's nice to hear that you found it a good pattern!
Hi Sarah! I just found your RUclips and loved your video. I really like how you just got into the patterns and didn’t talk on and on like some people do, have the patterns linked for ease, in the description and shared your sewing plans for this upcoming spring/summer. Can’t wait to watch your other videos :)
I absolutely love dresses and jumpsuits. I am a beginner sewer. I have just completed my first dress and have cut out my next material for another. How do you sew stretch material successfuly ? Do you have a serger? I had know idea there were so many different pattern companies !
congrats on completing your first dress! i do have a serger and a coverstitch machine but you don't need either to sew knits. you can use your regular machine with a zigzag stitch or the lightning stitch if you have one. there are lots of tutorial videos on youtube about sewing with knits.
I love your taste in clothing. Some beautiful patterns there. I hope you get a decent summer. Our winter is really kicking in here. It's killing me to see all your beautiful new dresses coming out. 😂😂. Lots of inspiration for summer.
@@knottygnome Thank you. I am very much looking forward to making all those tricky projects this season. Collared shirts, jackets and coats. I just have to pull my self away from all those new pretty spring dresses I keep seeing😊
Knit wrap with collar? Have a look at “Cherish” by Designer Stitch. I have limited experience with knit sewing, but that one turned out reasonably well for me.
So many nice plans! A few summers ago I made two Yanta overalls and was considering a third. I wondered how many an over forty woman would need and would have made more accept the whole bathroom situation 😂.

thank you! i should wear it more now that spring is here. it's too thin for winter wear.

i don't shave either--luckily nature has allowed me to have barely visible leg hair so that isn't really a consideration for me. F the Patriarchy!
Great plans, I predict success!
i hope so, thanks!
I had a dress like the Sezane one in high school (in the early 90s). I think the Lapelosa dress would be so cute on you!
thanks! i wasn't cool enough in the 90s to wear a dress like that. 😂
@@knottygnome I was definitely not cool! 😂

@@knottygnome sounds lovely!
Enjoyed the video alot of variety can't wait to see what you make
me too!
You must enjoy making button holes😅. Great choices🎉 Would love to make a romper or jumpsuit for Summer.
it's not that i enjoy sewing buttonholes much but i really dislike installing zippers. i will pick the button closure over a zipper whenever i can.
I absolutely love the everyday from PE. I use the fitted bodice at winter time and the other for summer, because it's a bit loose.
it's a really good one!

thank you, that means a lot to me!
Excellent choices of patterns. Which ever you make I’m sure it will be great. Most of all enjoy your time. 💐
thanks for the encouragement!

I'm ready--if only the weather would warm up!
@@knottygnome agreed!!
I love dresses, too! You have some amazing options, Sara! Looking forward to following along! 💗
thank you, Andra!
The Lapelosa dress will be so cute on you. Love the detail at the neckline. 🧵 I love the 3 gingham linens…that dress will be so nice. 🧵
thanks, Michelle! hopefully i will really get to it this year.
I like the Mildred
thank you! it does look comfy.
Hi Sara. Thanks for all your great videos. Vogue V8379 is a knit collared dress which I think has good reviews x
thank you, i will check it out!
For an alternate wrap dress. I am busy with the Silouette pattern of Peggy Sagers….
i haven't heard of that one. i will look it up, thanks!
I have made that New Look 6696. I just used the closed-back version. It is a super flattering dress and I highly recommend it.

thank you! i try to respect my viewers' time because i also am not a big fan of watching videos with long rambling intros. i appreciate your feedback.

thanks for the suggestion! i'll look it up.
Love your video! Butterick 5030 is a knit wrap dress with a collar. I plan to make it for this summer!
huh, i have that pattern but i thought it was for wovens. i'll have to dig it out of my stash. thanks for the suggestion!
Itch to Stitch just came out with a wrap dress with a collar.
thanks, I will look it up!
Vogue patterns published the original DVF wrap dress pattern in the late 70s. Maybe you can still find it! 🤷🏼♀️
they actually re-released it in their newest summer collection. i'm sure i will pick it up eventually during a joann sale.
So many nice plans! A few summers ago I made two Yanta overalls and was considering a third. I wondered how many an over forty woman would need and would have made more accept the whole bathroom situation 😂.
yes, i mostly wear my one-pieces exclusively at home so that the whole bathroom thing isn't an issue. 😂
Have you made any shorts? Can't seem to find a perfect pattern. Mainly out of linen.
i've made a few pairs of shorts but my favorites for linen are the papercut patterns tula and palisade. hth
Hey! If you’re a VikiSews ambassador, I’m sure you could contact them and they could send you English instructions for your pattern! Just sayin …. 😻
this pattern isn't in their english catalog. if it were, i would've downloaded it.
xXX👍👍👍
thanks for watching!
