I think in Dog's position in this game, it would've been much better for him to focus on playing pirates for a few turns; each of the buffs were not very impactful on their own, it's just that he was getting a lot of procs. On turn 14 he had still only played 22 pirates which is really not many at all, he could've easily more than doubled that with his golden Brann and a single tethys.
Technically only dodged 52/51 ( the diff between the nightbane and the elemental he used the shellie on) Boom, opportunity cost from university finally comes in handy
7:20 the real play was to take Saloon, then freeze on a spell shop. Really sad he didn't see this line when he was talking about buffing the shop the entire time.
Chat stuck tripping over dollars to get dimes. "But we're leaving so many stats in the shop..." Was really no different than watching huge elementals roll past while trying to improve your board
I think the Shelly strat is better because you guarantee all your buffs are useful. If you buy out the shop you’re either buffing your own board or the frozen minion which you use Shelly to convert into a buff. And that buff keeps scaling. You might get pirates in your shop which helps you scale more too.
@@nikolaidelphos1322 you're so funny ha ha ha With Murky it's 5 times bigger, unlucky no cleave, I guess you can easily win without it and all you have to do is to notice that it's the same comp with smaller stats
@@SphericaICow as in - it's a 6 in 13 that it'll hit a unit in shop. and then another 1 in 13 that the Raider buff will hit the same shop target again. It's not as bad as Dogdog is saying, but it's not much better
A play you could've gone for @ 16:30 while going for Golden Shelly is hunt for saloons finest and buy only one spell then freeze, then on next shop you only have one minion in shop w a golden Shelly making it worth adding into ur comp
I'm almost sure the bait is Drakari... just don't run it, and have a flex spot, so you can buy the entire shop and keep that one unit around... although the argument about 1/8 might make it weaker, but I'm not sure... the thing is that doing this you guaranteed to get every single buff, as opposite of what Dog ultimately decided to do can go pretty wrong and buff mostly the shop(I would say if it goes 50/50 might be fine, but sometimes you just get unlucky...)
You would cut the non-golden tuskar before you would cut drakari. Drakari is a multiplier, so functionally it adds stats like having a second copy of golden tuskar.
So you say sell the drakkari, which doubles the amount of triggers, to buy out the shop every turn, which doubles the chances your triggers land on your units --- but costs you like 8 gold a turn.

Haven’t played battlegrounds in a couple of weeks. SHELLEMENTAL IS NOW A TIER 6 MINION!!! It looks so weird seeing it that high
End of turn spell gives 'extra', not 2 times. So it's definitely worth buying.

smaller version of Murlocs with the exact same build
Forreal. The cleave Murloc would have been twice as big as the pirate.

you know what i think you're right.
Bro should have frozen the shop every turn with shelly and wouldve scaled way more ^^
18:55 Only 1 in 8 odds if there’s only 1 minion in shop, otherwise far more likely
With 6 minions in shop, odds are 6 in 13 (just shy of half) not this absurd 1 in 8 he keeps quoting

It's not as bad as Dogdog is saying, but it's not much better
But if there are more minions in the shop, then the stats will likely be spread across a few minions and so Shelly is not super useful

Since you were not looking for any specific, why didnt you just buy the whole shop every time? You were losing so much stats on the shops.
how is paying 4 gold for a drakkari cheaper than a 3 gold drakkari spell??
It’s the same cost if drakkari is sold. However there’s the added benefit of potential tripling drakarri

If you have a full shop and don’t use Shelly then about half the buffs are wasted.
