In this guitar lesson tutorial, we look at how to play Streets of London by Ralph McTell. The song appeared on McTell's 1969 album 'Spiral Staircase' but was not released in the United Kingdom as a single until 1974
The song is in the key of E with a capo on the 4th fret and features a fingerpicked style throughout.

I've wanted to play this song since I first heard it 50 years ago. Sadly there were not such brilliant lessons around in the 1970s. This tutorial inspired me to pick up the guitar again. May not reach the required speed but will have fun trying.

This is a great tutorial of this song just started fingerpicking so hope I can learn it. The lyrics always make me cry when I hear Ralph McTell sing it. One of my favourite songs of all time and I am 63. another song I love is Catch the wind by Donavan. Would be greatly appreciated if you could do a tutorial on that as well thanks a lot.

Great lesson very patient delivery.
However I have learned and purchased the version by "Sixstring finger picking" and now find myself in a dilemma after purchasing your version that has subtle differences as to which is the correct version?

Thank you for the great tutorial. I have mastered it but one question remains. How come every time i see Ralph McTell play the song, nowadays and in the old days, he always have the capo on 2 while you placed it on the 4th fret, why?
