Fly Fishing Beaverkill River and Catskill Mountains: Day 1

Originally this trip was supposed to be about fishing the Delaware River. After trying a variety of tactics, all I had to my name was a missed trout and a 17 inch fall fish. Eric and I decided to try our hand at some other locations in NY and thankfully found some trout. Although the first day was not as huge of a success as I had hoped, I did hook (not on camera) what may have been a 20" wild brown on a small stream, but he popped off during the fight. Still day one yielded trout and gave me a chance to find solitude and trout in a new location with a good friend. There is nothing better! Stick around for Day 2 and 3 where the fishing gets better and the trout get bigger!
