when you sat on the rock in the rain, you were in the moment. No photo, stat or outcome will ever beat the moment. I agree with your assessment. Enjoy the experience!
For sure! Scouting and looking for compositions before the camera ever comes out of the bag can be great too! Really exploring the area and the environment near it!
Today's video is a pep talk that came at the right time. I'm in the Faroe Islands and have been for five days. Four of the days have been rainy and windy, two of the four have been so foggy visibility has been nil. In fact, I was scheduled to fly to Iceland today but the flight was cancelled due to fog. SO... what you say about enjoying the process is significant to me right now. It's hard not to "have something to show" for all the expense and effort if you measure your success by the number of pretty pictures. I had my wife take a cell phone video from inside the car of me out in a 30 mph wind while being pelted by rain. I'm laughing about it now. Thanks for helping keep it real.
Glad the timing of the video was good! It can be tough to keep things in perspective when you've traveled a long way, that's for sure! Maybe you can send some of those clouds back to the Eastern US? My WV trip was clear blue skies and looking like my Smokies trip this weekend is going to be the same! I don't want zero visibility, but a little atmosphere would be fun! Enjoy the trip and keep making the best of it! Still an adventure, no matter what!
Too cold to get out today, so I was watching a bit of RUclips. Darren Spoonley mentioned you, so I gave it a go. In the first video I opened you mentioned Lindy Point/Blackwater Falls - I also think that there is a great photo waiting for me at Lindy Point. While I did get several photos at the State Park that I am “proud of” - none of them came from Lindy Point. I guess I’ll go back some day. I’ve subscribed, hoping that you will do some Ohio, PA, West VA, VA location type videos. Thanks
Welcome! Glad you found your way to my channel - sounds like you have interest in a lot of the areas I spend a fair amount of time in! I love the Davis/Thomas area - always something to see and photograph, even if I am still chasing my Lindy Point image! The Hocking Hills area of Ohio is a backdrop in a lot of my videos, that's my favorite fairly local place to photograph and explore. I get to Davis/Thomas semi-regularly - hoping my schedule aligns this winter to bounce over there for a good snowfall! And I visit Pennsylvania occasionally, usually in the Ohiopyle State Park area. Thanks for the sub!
Mr. Tadlock, No truer words spoken. I love photography. Approach and attitude are all important.
Definitely! Attitude and one's approach can really make a good day bad or a bad day great! Thanks for watching!
Great advice. I too enjoy the process and I don’t set my expectations too high. I try to visit cool places and see what the light gives me. 😊
I think that's the best approach! Helps make the trip fun and enjoyable no matter what!
Enjoy the journey, it's not all about the destination. Nice video Thank you 👌
Thanks for watching - learning to enjoy the journey is so important in my opinion! Way less frustration!

Being in the moment is right! Just enjoying what was happening now, not worried about future state, but taking it all in. Thanks for watching!
I do enjoy the hunt for a good photo location. Just scouting can be fun before you even get the camera out.

Well said. This can be true of every photographic endeavor that we do for ourselves, and not for clients.
Definitely! I feel that enjoying the process goes a long way to keep me interested and excited about photography!
