here is a funny tidbit for everybody about the game's coding for this scenario. after talking to Patches to have him goad you in to the trap, if you kick Patches off the edge and the go over to the cliff where he kicks you off, the cutscene will still trigger and it puts him right back at the top. it incidentally becomes a gag right out of a cartoon.😆
And yet we can't help but love this thieving spineless liar. I like to imagine that he's literally the same guy in every game. A mega-immortal who has witnessed the end of the world countless times, who's only real desire is to kick suckers into pits to steal their stuff.
Iam surprise patches in elden ring actually more better person than dark soul (well not really but if you follow his questline he is actually become better person )
I feel like he didn't "become" a better person so much that in DS3 you see him for who he is under his surface persona and he's a bit warmer towards you because of it. The Tarnished doesn't get that opportunity.
