Bro!! Your video really helped me out, I was having a hard time not changing the original 2003 e-class head unit and not figuring out exatly where to connect the rca cable, so yeah, thanks dude👍😁
a note of advice, if you ever want a sub in a W211 E class. you MUST remove the stock sub woofer. this will allow for the bass to travel from the new sub in the boot and into the cabin. otherwise you wont hear much and it will rattle the boot. these cars are well insulated.
Xpresion Agreed, I did the same thing on W210, my original speakers died, so I replaced all of them incl. subs. Car is very good insulated, you get good sound inside and not so much outside, just the bumber and plates are making noise from vibrations.
padlasvillage PS, I took me half a day to fix everything. 3 days way too much, this was my first time I have done this. If you have head on your neck you can figure out how things work. And yes I did some reading, and had some troubleshotings, but I put my logic to work and done.
That's not my experience I put in 2 12in Kicker Comp Rs and I can hear that thing banging and vibrating the whole inside 🤣, are u putting a baby sub or something that u don't hear it in the cabin?
Good job. I thought about going this route as it is simple compared to running outs from the head unit. However I like the capability of control the amp from the head unit which is lost when tapping into the wires in the boot. Now that im thinking about it, im too old to want to mess with a full wiring might just take this route;)
You know how some Mercedes have TWO batteries, one Aux Battery on the front hood and the big main battery on the trunk. If I put some L7 kickers with a big amp.. would I need to buy a 3rd BATTERY on this car to put on the trunk with the main battery? or will the STOCK 2 batterys that came with the car work? no dimming or power loss?
or buy an amp with high level inputs and offset/level detecting power. Also if your going to sacrifice 2 channels for a line converter, buy an amp that can then power those two channels rather than keeping it connected
12 years ago and 12 years later still saving lives bless you!
