Fun fact: Tom Clancy's research into the military was so extensive that he was interrogated by federal agents at least once. This was due to Tom having included details on classified military technology in one of his novels. The feds thought he was a potential spy or had illegally gained access to classified material. In reality, Tom had achieved something even more incredible: he speculated the existence of the technology entirely through unclassified, publicly available information. His guess was so accurate that the feds thought he had actual information on classified tech. That man was dedicated to his craft.

Played the game recently. While I'd say its true you can shut down most enemies with a shot to their weak points, its just not effective enough. Grenades are hard to shoot down from the air when there are like 5 enemies all shooting at you, amoured enemies tend to not have very obvious weakspots and the best way to finish every enemy off is still the same as Div 1, grab the most accurate and stable AR with the best extend mag and head shot dmg boosts and just shoot at their heads, amoured or not. And not every enemy dies via a weakpoint destruction like in the Div 1.

@@xXFallout2 earnings call already confirmed division is getting content all the way until 2022. Anyway one thing that's fascinating about the publishing of Tom Clancy's The Division 2 - The Review (2019) is that the fans demanded that a whole 5 minutes be removed from the video, because it was simply too much Tom Clancy backstory. The video was filled with minute details about Tom Clancy and Ronald Reagan. This sort of background just wasn't a feature of game reviews back at the time. RUclipsrs believed that viewers just wanted to see the graphics, or the gameplay.
I adore the health system. Never have even basic encounters been able to feel so tense for me, simply because of how your armor doesn't recharge, takes time to reestablish, and how easily you can go down without cover. It's so much fun.
Watching someone else's review then see a notification of skill Up review. Leave current video grab some popcorn and a soda and cast it on TV for another wonderful cinematic experience that I throughly enjoy.
This game was definitely the best in the "looter shooter" genre, and honestly just a great rpg overall. Massive made a great game, it's a shame ubisoft didn't put more resources into frequent updates and content drops for the division 2.
Really? I feel if anything there's been too much content. We just got word of year 5 of content with new seasons, a new expansion early next year and a endgame rework also coming soon. Most ubi games only last 2 years yet were on year 5. Kudos to Massive and ubisoft
You know something? You have fantastically well-written pieces, whether I agree or not. A 52 minute review? Sure, I'll watch yours. But there are other well-spoken, well-written, well-edited videos on a variety of topics on the Youtubz these days. What do I find oddly impressive about your videos? Simple...It's that you time your video out to match the ads interspersed in there. 5 commercial breaks, and not ONE of them interrupt you mid-syllable. I wish the rest of the RUclipsrs out there cared enough about their end product to pay attention to that one little detail. Nicely done, as always, Shillup
This is one of the most well-thought out and insightful pieces of content on this entire channel. Absolute joy of a video essay from start to finish. Looking forward to part two.

Omg yes! I left Destiny 2 after playing it for roughly 3 weeks. Never came back even though I hear good things about it nowadays, I just feel too burnt by Bungo to go back. They lied to me for the last time with Destiny 2. I still go back and play Destiny 1 when I’m bored, even just last week I was on Destiny and was amazed at how many people are still playing and how many new players there are. Now the Division is takin up all my free time (the little I have). It’s an amazing game and couldn’t be happier with my purchase. Like you said, if only Destiny 2 had shipped in this type of polished state

Ubisoft The Division 2 has nothing to do with the work Ralph does with these reviews. It's true crap what Ubisoft feeds ppl with.. and ppl waste their time with.
The year is 1998 and I've been engrossed with Tom Clancy's Rainbow SIx on PC. Noticing the book on my grandfathers shelf, he expressed his enjoyment of the type of story telling and since then I've been a fan of anything Tom Clancy.
Dude you make some great content. This is the first video of yours I’ve watched and wow, just wow. The amount of detail alone that you put into this is amazing. The first 6 minutes alone had me hooked. When I first saw the length I was like “no way I’m watching an hour long review”. 52 minutes later I’m writing this comment and all I want to do is applaud. I look forward to watching more of your content.
Thank you for doing a great job with editing in your ad breaks. It is nice not getting a sentence or paragraph interrupted. It’s a little thing that makes a huge difference.
You know I honestly thought that they would expand on the Aaron Keener storyline because that was a really good storyline. It made me think of 006 from Goldeneye or the antagonist from Skyfall. If they ran with that I think it would have made for a good storytelling experience.
Good review as always. I can never understand how I can be entertained from an hour long video review about a game that I already have played but you nail it every time
Since you've also played the game, what's your opinion on the story? Skill's review has me excited to get a copy in the future, but coming out the gate and saying he thought the story was weak and underdeveloped makes me wonder if I'd be frustrated by the excellent gameplay because it would lack any meaningful context.
saintallison I would say skillup is right. I skipped all cutscenes and hardly knew any of the characters. But that honestly didn’t bother me. There’s so much content and so many things to do the strength of the narrative didn’t matter to me. The complexities of the gameplay and the massive amount of content had and kept me hooked
Given that I go to DC several times a year for work and spend a fair amount of time in the metro area, I was honestly floored by how well they mapped things out. Especially the Aerospace museum, that thing is near perfection to how that museum is laid out/rendered. I rarely care about graphics and whatnot but this game was a real surprise for the amount of detail used.
All these years I thought Tom Clancy was an ex Marine badass Frank Castle type soldier who went on to become an author and he was just an insurance salesman?!!! The things you don't know. 😂😂😂
We need a Part 2 - 1,5 years into The Division 2. There is so much more - but also so much more controversy within the community. For me: the game did not „hit“ me like TD1. The world and Characters are completely missing and the gameplay itself feels bloated and without focus. TD1 give me the chills even today. The visuals, the music, the darkness ... it is special. DC has nothing special for me :-/ Ralph, you need to have another look at the game now ;)
Ohh I find the visual and audio so much better in the sequel. I would like an expansion with winter. I miss that season as well. But I still feel TD2 is better than TD1 in any aspects, beside missing survival. I tried to go back, and it felt like going from 60+ fps 4k 65” tv to a 14” b/w tv.
His interest of the franchise probably burned out (I know mine has). In addition, there isn't much attraction for the game. I would love to see part 2 but I would understand if he doesn't do it.
Everything you do is in depth, articulate and yet somehow interesting. Thank you for the time and energy you invest in each of your vids because each one is worth watching.
Part 1 of 2 parts and it's 52 minutes long. And there's not one single word thatyou say that isn't meaningful. You're probably the best reviewer on RUclips, keep it up.
Kudos to Ubisoft for being involved with the best and most complete Online Only game in a long time and a game for other Companies to follow when it comes to Online Only. Ubisoft became a good Company (and not one in the AAA Garbage Catagory of Bethesda, EA and Activision) since AC: Origins and The Division 2 continues that good streak.
I'm a relatively "newcomer" to your channel mate thanks to Laymen reviews and news, discussion and etc. But frankly and honestly i gotta say you "nail" it when it comes to a making detailed yet captivating reviews. It's GREAT to see you back reviewing the Division franchise! I know you've moved to reviewing multiple products, but a part of me hopes that you'll put a little of the effort into The Division 2 like you did with it's predecessor. I've been wanting to get this game mostly because of how much I loved the first version. Your review put it over the top! TY

Phenomenal review. Hats off to the time it must take to put your reviews together and the parallel drawn to XCom and strategy was a real 'oh yeah!' moment.
This review summed up all my thoughts of the game. It’s amazing, this is exactly what I was thinking and it gave me more ideas that I didn’t think of!!!
I really hope you guys are patreons and you're complaining because you are actually paying Ralph for all the time he puts into this content. Otherwise.....
It would be very interesting for you to make a state of the game 8 months after release. The bigger problem is that all those publishers want us to use gaming as a service, but instead of building a long term game, they throw it away every 2 or 3 years to sell us another one full price. What they should have done with Division was keeping adding content, even a paid extension which, if it was a full city, most of the player base would have gladly paid for. We know this works: look at how much content Warframe have. The fact is that I missed so much the diversity of activities of Division 1 that I came back to it.
Excellent review as expected ! One thing i feel you missed on, the sound design and musical background in this game is excellent. Its fast and hard when needed.
I love you Skill Up and you’re an incredible reviewer but, I must admit, after playing the Division 2 for well over 80 hours, I thought it was fun but also pretty simplistic. I didn’t get the wow factor you’re describing.
Hey there. I've got 1.2k hours in Division and and am roughly 2.7k SHD-level. Thought I'd stop by and confirm or correct some of the claims in this review from the perspective of an endgame veteran. 1) Anything you do in-game is worthwhile. This is not true. Upon reaching higher difficulties, open-world loot becomes meaningless (as they couldn't scale a free chest to challenging or heroic-level loot for obvious reasons). I suppose keys and materials are still available from exploring but mats appear just as frequently in missions. Outside of optimization the need for materials is very scarce in the first place - you want to unlock the good mods for your preferred weapon type as well as recalibrating the missing stat on your main guns and pieces of equipment. 2) You have to play tactically as you are very easily killed. If he means this applies to everthing in the game... then it's very untrue. It's all about playstyle and build. For "Gears of War"-type players, there are multiple buildpaths that allows you to excel at point blank range (protection from elites-builds, bulwark, hunter's fury, adrenaline rush/intimidate Eagle Bearer just to name a few). The power creep of the game has allowed the highest difficulties to be obliterated by players rushing in and simply killing everything before it gets a chance to kill you. 3) Performance. It's Massive... to quote the video: "Try as they might, they have not been able to nail this at any point" Most recently the game has started hard chrashing. 10/10. 4) Roadmap containing free content. Certain areas are available without the paid expansion, new specializations are free for all to unlock, survival has not been added. There was speculation in the community before the TU11-update that we would get a survival-ish mode teased as Skyscraper, however, it ended up being the incredibly dull, lazy, and bland gamemode called Summit. Also there are two raids in the game - both challenging and fun in their own ways (in my humble opinion the best this game has to offer). Also since the part 2 never came out, here are some keypoints about the topics teased in the video: End Game Loot Economy is in a good spot due to targeted loot around DC. If you think of a way to change your build but just lack a decent providence mask, you can target farm providence and expect to get your desired piece relatively quickly. Also no trading so your build is something you or your friends gathered - a pretty good notion if you ask me. Itemisation falls into the pit of every videogame with choice; some options result in bigger numbers so you pick those. Certain off-meta builds and strategies utilizes less popular talents and to great effect. PVP is widely considered a weak side of Division. Cheesy builds and strategies dominate darkzones and conflict matches, and if a set is too strong for PVP it risks getting nerfed in PVE as well. The darkzone is an abandoned area where agents can turn on each other and steal hard earned items and dz-specific currency. That's my attempt at an unbiased comment. I'm a PVE-player myself and making best-in-slot items exclusive to the darkzone is such a bad design choice. Luckily PVE players can enjoy exclusivity through... Raids! Like I hinted at earlier raids can be some of the most fun you can have in Division 2. Doubling the team size opens up build combinations and rewards coordinating certain items unlike anywhere else in the game. The challenges are also designed to require teamwork and communication, which, when done right, are incredibly rewarding. It also helps that the best exotics in the game come from raids. If you are new to raids I'd recommend looking in the official Division 2 discord to straight up join a raid or to find an active clan to raid with on a regular basis.

Kudos to Massive and ubisoft
good review love how you used the "history will remember us" quote at the end. good review skillup

The more I watch this review, the more painful it gets to think Destiny 2 ditched everything Destiny 1 had built over its lifespan at launch.
Amen

I have checked RUclips at least twice a day since this game came out for this video. Thanks.

Also since the part 2 never came out, here are some keypoints about the topics teased in the video:
End Game Loot Economy is in a good spot due to targeted loot around DC.
Your comment is appreciated my man.
I came here for the naval ships and I must say...my needs were satiated
