MAN, usually I take a few hours or days to mull over whether or not I want to dub a comic bc haha commitment. But this one just hit TOO hard and it came up just soon enough after I finished Strikers. It's such a beautiful comic and I do think Futaba was the best person to have this conversation with and just seeing our smug boy finally let down his walls and cry is just so heartbreaking but so relieving. Joker and Akechi had a genuine friendship, a genuine connection and man would it have been nice to see him properly mourn for him after his (supposed) death post-Adam Kadmon fight. UGH I COULD GO ON FOR HOURS THIS COMIC WAS JUST CHEFS KISS

This makes me wish all the more that strikers was developed after royal just so we could get a scene where Joker would reflect on Akechi's death wondering what it could've been like if he was with them or at the very least have Akechi be mentioned in passing.
Who knows, Atlus might add him as DLC.

There's a deep seated part of me that clings to the secret endings P5 and P5 royal and just
I can't help but think that if he did make a return in strikers, this is where it'd be revealed that he's still alive. And that he'd be watching from the distance, scowling, baffled by the fact that they miss him at all, knowing full well that if they don't keep their focus he'll have no choice but to jump in and
fuck I miss akechi.
I'm glad for how you see their relationship I also think that Futaba suits the best and Joker and Akechi really had the most genuine friendship ever

Considering how well Strikers (or Scramble if you prefer the Japanese version) went over with the public, it’s entirely possible we’ll get a sequel game with Akechi and Sumire and maybe even with the surviving members of P3-4 (with Yu and Aigis as alts for Joker)! We can only hope…for now at least!
Hi, year into the future here. Don't know if you've seen it yet, and it may just be a rumor, but I read somewhere that an Akechi spin off is being worked on. Don't quote me on it, but it is entirely possible we will get a game like that at this point.
2 years in the future hear but i your comment made me realize how many spin offs dont let the wild cards use multiple personas the way they normally do, and while i get that have multiple wild cards would make e everyone else kind of redundant i think the way you mentioned would be really cool

This is a far better characterization of Futaba than whatever PQ2 was trying to do with her.

“You don’t have to be the cool leader all the time.” That, and the fact Futaba looked so surprised seeing Ren cry- It just goes to show how on a more emotional level, Ren had rarely ever shown weakness like that to his friends the entire time they’d known him, if not at all. From the framed assault record, to the criminal label he was given in Shujin, and all the things that happened when he became a Phantom Thief- Along with losing Akechi. There was no doubt that at one point, Ren’s mental health did take a turn for the worse. Its sad seeing that in the comic, he was still prioritizing Futaba’s happiness over his own emotions, and even calling them stupid :(
Love how the relationship with ren/Akira are sibling like, and futaba being the little sister helping her older brother, the way ren/Akira did in persona 5 R
The more I hear these dub comics the more surprised I get from how professional this is sounds.

I finished P5S's story a few days ago, so I finally got the chance to check this out. I didn't expect to be hit with a lot of feels. The Hoshi to Bokura piano track really hammered them in deep.
I thought this’d be a joker x futaba thing when I skimmed but then I recognized the art style and went right back to the beginning lmao

We miss akechi too your not the only who’s been missing it’s just you’ve said we have to keep moving forward within our hearts to great full good passion person and it’s not just only that but your Willing takes being leader that’s what gift matters to you so it’s if it’s okay for not being but akechi we always be they’re on us when ever we’ve seen him enough we’re all there for you no matter what
What I love about this comic the most besides what they talk about is that they're where they would be in-game in this comic. Next to the Phantomobile on the guard rail thing.

While I don't what he has done in the past, like killing Futaba's (sorry if I misspelled her name) mom and Haru's dad, I still miss Akechi. I never thought I will felt this way about someone like him.

@@matthewgallaway3675 I thought that the reason that kasumi died was because sumire was not looking where she was going and ran to the road then the light turned green. So the car couldn’t stop in time. And then kasumi pushed sumire aside so the one who died was kasumi. I don’t think it was caused by a mental shutdown. It was caused because the car couldn’t stop in time if I’m correct.

Even if he was and chose to be a psychotic murderer, he still could've deserved and earned better if he didn't take the choices he took. Because if he wanted to, he could've had the best possible relationship with the rest of the PT. He could've been the best member of the PT, and I would 100% wish that Yaldaboath never did what it did, or if there was some kind of loop hole on its game. More often than not, in some games you just can't win, nor sometimes some beings don't want you to win.

The vanilla hits me pretty hard but in Royal it smacked me like a freight train
Well... We will always have the final scene of Royal where its looks like Akechi is alive.
Funnily enough, it only shows if you maxed out Akechi's confidant. So it may be possible that we do save him in the end.

AGRESSIVE YELLING AND CRYING
I’m admittedly very harsh on Akechi’s character type, that basically being “I’m better than you and I know it so I’m going to spend every waking moment proving such” in a nutshell, but Alechi honestly is such a fantastic character to the point that his character archetype actually helps to increase his appeal. I don’t know what it is about the archetype I don’t like, but in my experience I notice that either the character doesn’t get what they deserve for their misdeeds or they don’t try to become at least slightly better as the story goes on which is not satisfying to me. Byakuya Togami from Danganronpa for example didn’t get any comeuppance or become a slightly better person during his story and I can’t stand him for it. I mean, maybe you could argue Akechi didn’t improve either, he got worse, but I feel the way they wrote Akechi in third semester was brilliant along with the fact that he knew he would die, but still fought for what was right anyway intentional or not. Akechi is honestly one of my favorite characters in media and it’s such an anomaly as to why I like him because I hate his archetype

Man. Give Futaba some credit. Akechi killed her mom, killed Haru's dad, worked with the people who killed Yusuke's mom and Makoto's dad, and created the distortion in the guy who harassed Ann and broke Ryuji's leg. But she's still comforting Ren when he's missing him.

cool but also super wiered seeing as that P5S is not in the same cannon as the extra content in P5R but Ren was talking about diffrent realitys and all, I'm curious as to what the cannon of this comic dub is aside from the obvious
even though Royal isn’t complicit with Striker’s canon, I always like to think that Yoshizawa just got caught up with gymnastics (hence she couldn’t go with the Thieves) and Maruki continued on doing what he did from the True End which would lead up pretty nicely to Striker’s plot, especially w the Akechi ending if you maxed his confidant leaving him kinda MIA which works with the comic.
I also like to think of Striker’s Jails as mini versions/remnants of the Final Palace in Royal so even if it’s not OFFICIAL, I still think there’s enough ambiguity to play along with Strikers following Royal!

Strikers doesn’t follow Royal’s canon. It was in development before Royal’s release. Yoshizawa, Maruki and any 3rd Sem events aren’t referenced or directly implied to have happened. This comic’s just a fun “what if” Strikers did follow it!
@@Luucarii Technically untrue. There's a few hidden references to Royal in Strikers that are mostly in the dialogue. Well, at least they're there in the English dub. I can't speak for the Japanese.
