      @apeture_explorer4810 10 месяцев назад

      I feel hesitant to say, but I think the earlier models made by the intern were more compact than this one. They were totally self contained, had comparable speed, etc. The major shortcoming was the electronic controller, but the solution here just made another big hip mounted element...
      They scrapped the spool and made a custom part that was used for variable rope length, but there are practical limitations to the value of rope length in a device like this, and ways to make the rope thinner while maintaining strength to accommodate a more finite spool size too...

      Just roll with it until a Quebecois starts cussing you out for daring to speak English at them.
      I used to work for a 18-wheeler roadside tire repair company in a call-center that covered US and Canada. Driver would call in, I'd contact his company to give them options (tire brand options, eta for repair, price, ect). At least once a week, I'd get a call, give my greeting, and hear some French expression and ended call.
      We were also the designated "after hours" for some city's utility vehicles and such. Meaning that if they had a problem when shops were closed, they could call us and we had a list of who was working that night to contact directly. One of these was Edmonton. One night, one of their workers calls needing a new tire. As we talk he suddenly stops with the information I need and says "Alright, hang on. What is with your accent, bud? I thought I was calling *local tire shop*."

Colin Furze, JT, Hacksmith, and more, all one-upping eachother with newer, better designs, only to be one-upped in turn by the next channel in the race. All its gonna take is some mass manufacturing company to buy the last design in the race in like 10 years time and BOOM! This all becomes commercially available
