The Korean nation is a great nation.
They managed to create 2 dystopias on one peninsula.
제일 웃긴건 이 주장은 소위 이석기 이정희가 나대던 10년 넘은 시대에 했던 주장인데 민주당 내에서도 요즘에 이 주장 펼치면 바보취급 받음.
Hi Chris, thanks for your video and perspective on Chaebols, I am curious still if Yeji can chime in as born and raise Korean, her thought on it if/what she could share ? Thanks again
Thanks for the perspective .
Just found your channel, love the vids so far 😊 i know very little about SK
Your background looks cyberpunk. Case closed periot
One screen does not define a whole country.
YT just recommended you to me, I'm glad you're not using an AI to read your script.
Have more kids 🙂
I see the dominance of Samsung, Hyundai, and other chaebols today being equivalent to when JD Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, JP Morgan and others dominated the US economy. Eventually those barons either broke up, was acquired, or have shrunk. Do Koreans that complain about the chaebols think like that? Do they think about the possibility that Samsung and Hyundai could someday be acquired by a Chinese or Japanese company?
Is there really any chance of that ever happening? These are the companies that put Korea on the map, I can't see a country that fought so fiercely to resist being controlled by their neighbours would just sell the family jewels to them
Examples like Rockefeller and JP Morgan are not really comparable considering how small South Korea is. For the last 70 years, this county tried to build sizeable companies that can compete in the global market. Do you really think it is possible to import cars and cellphones without companies as big as Samsung and Hyundai? I am pretty sure you will give examples from Germany, which I argue that it is pretty much an exception.
At that time, the US was just over 100 years old. Today it's about 250 years old. Now it's different.
A few decades ago, technology was IBM, Osbourne, and Compaq. Then came Apple and Microsoft. And then came AOL, Netscape, Yahoo. Then, MySpace, Google, Facebook...
Try to picture how SKorea will look like in 50 years. Remember when GM bought Daewoo?
@ods1123 do you seriously think disseminating chaeboel will bring greater goods? Do you not think this system led S korea to become one of the very few nations that became a developed country in this century?
@@YangSook523 I do think the chaebols did good. They helped the rapid rise of SK. The big thing I'm wondering about is I think the people that are criticizing the chaebols think that SK is on the same timeline as the US. I see in the media that the SK public seems to not like the chaebols. Is this true?
Kpop is not popular in Europa I live in Sweden.
Maybe not Sweden, but definitely the UK and France.
