How I'm Saving Chives for Winter 🌿

- Today I harvested a HUGE batch of chives to cut into small pieces and lightly cook in butter, then freeze, and portion into single serving cubes to use over winter.

What a great idea! I don't have a garden (I live in a high-rise) but I think I'd like to give this a try. My store always sells them in large batches and I can never finish them in time. Thanks for sharing this useful video!
This is going to be so great for quick cooking, I tried to portion each cube to pair with 1 egg for convenience.
Why did u cook them before freezing? They not gonna get mushy/bur. When u cook them the 2nd time?

Can I ask why you use butter when cooking the chives down? I’m wondering if there’s a replacement I could use? Love this idea so much!
I used butter because I cook these with eggs, but you could also use olive oil.
