0:42 "so when you first open up kontakt, you'll see something like this"
Oh how I wished I saw those spitfire and OT libraries on the left!!!
Thank you for all your videos by the way, they are very informative and enjoyable!
@@Agiyi Yes! i wish.
If you took advantage of Spitfire's spring sale, you could have gotten every Spitfire library shown there, plus Masse and Harp, for $1522. Symphonic Strings + Symphonic Brass + Symphonic Woodwinds + Masse + Harp was just $898. Chamber Strings could had be bought for $355 after buying the SSS+SSB+SSW+Masse+Harp bundle, and Albion V was $269.
@@Justin.Franks I wish I had $1522 lying around for that
🦉 Create a user account on Spitfire's website & add all the sample libraries you want in your wishlist. One day you'll get a special offer. I only have the original Albion which has been upgraded to Albion One. They do have some free samples in the Lab section.
The most infectious awesome personality in DAW, composition, arranging, on youtube. Thanks Guy!
@@FaiyazZahinFZ You have some nerve... and a lot of background noise
It was me that asked you to do this video. Thank you so much for putting this together. It has answered a lot of questions for me and saved me ram to-boot. Guy you are a real gentleman, and a huge beacon of light.
You just saved my life. I started using Kontakt 6 yesterday, and every time I thought I had understood something, there was another obstacle popping up. Like swimming butterfly with hurdles. Now I just have to watch this video 17 more times so that I can be sure that I will be able to connect my brain with all my thumbs, those thumbs that push the buttons on my keyboards.
Just popping in to say thank you for your time. You are a really great, to the point, teacher. No rambling, great editing. Perfect.
I learnt more about how to use Kontakt in this 20 minutes than I did from the official Kontakt start guide... bravo!
Need to know...... 20 minutes should do it
This is really quite eye-opening. I've had Kontakt 6 full and never really paid it any mind because it was so taxing on my system. Thank you, Guy!! Not all heroes wear capes!
Where would many of us be without your tutorials? I keep humming the tune " I can see clearly now" Thanks Guy.
Guy, you are easily the best Logic instructor around and I wish you had been doing this years ago when I started trying to make music.I learnt so much today that I thought I already knew.Thankyou!
You are a breath of fresh air, this informative tutorial of yours has just saved me a lot of frustrations. Thank You! Thank You Guy ! Stay safe and I'm certainly am looking forward to your next post.
You're brilliant! Straight to the point and with some humour... Learnt a lot, so Thank you very much, please keep on going
I love this guy. I came across him only a couple of weeks ago and I'm addicted. Thank you!
Hi Guy! Great series of really helpful videos! I started your course Music For The Media a good 10 years ago, kids came along and composing had to be put on back burner but great to see you still working hard and inspiring us all! Thanks
Fabulous stuff Guy. This short tutorial answers a lot of questions that I and I am sure a few others have had on this instrument. Thank you.
Learned one thing out of this. Love you man. Me and my sound design guys watch you regularly. Love your channel and your uplifting spirit.
And just like that you've confirmed existing knowledge and introduced new knowledge all in one stroke beautifully. You're one of those people whom you enjoy being taught by and listening to period! Saying that this is useful really wouldn't do it justice your wisdom does all the work in an instant....you're the truth sir!!
Thank You so much for taking the time to teach us all you know and discover. I have watched your videos now for over a year and I have learned so much. This one is invaluable as I have taken the plunge and upgraded my studio and bought some high end libraries. A few use Kontakt 6 and I just didn't know where to start. So, Thank, thank you, thank you...you have just solved a massive hurdle that I needed to leap over. Cheers from California. Manny Lee
Guy you are just adorably brilliant, every time I watch one of your videos I learn something new whether I want to or not. Thank you so much.
Man this was a super helpful refresher. I routinely switch from working in Cubase, to video production in Premiere pro, to After effects then back to Cubase, and with the big gaps I sometimes forget little things like the multi outputs, and enabling the faders and such so this was super helpful as a reminder, thank you for that.
I love the way Guy teaches things, even if im totally elsewhere musicallywise. (imma technohead) He is The #1 audio gentleman :)
Thanks Guy - that may well have been life changing!! This is the first explanation I've found of using multiple instruments in one instance! Cheers!
Brilliant tutorial! Echoing an earlier comment, I learned more about setting up Kontact in this video than in the hourse I spent surfing RUclips! Thanks, Guy!
Thanks Guy. I was trying to explain to someone on gearslutz the differences with the player and paid version. You’ve done this and much more. I’ve learned a lot from this video👍🏽
What a great tutorial - like all the best ones - wish I'd watched it years ago. Many thanks.
Thank you so much! This is exactly the video I needed at the moment. Great and precise information!
How amazing that I found this today as I have just got Kontakt 6 and a string library and can’t get it to play through Logic. Cheers for that tutorial.
Great and insightful tip with the multiple "copies" of the same instrument in one Kontakt instance sharing the samples.
I love watching Guy's videos! Good information, and a winning personality. :-)
You have no idea how helpful this video is. Thank you so much.
Thanks Guy. Your videos are always good to listen, always something new and useful... Great musician and great man!
Thanks Guy. One of the most helpful videos regarding starting out with Kontakt. Much more helpful than anything that NI have put out there as far as I am aware.
Thank you Guy! Have watched so many videos on this subject and finally I understand :)
This is brilliant. I was hoping to see this laid out exactly as you had! Much appreciated!
Thank you so much for this great video! I checked and checked and there are many videos on this subject, but ALL from people who CANNOT explain and CANNOT go to the point. YOU CAN, so many thanks for that.
Really good job, great presentation skills! Thank's for your time on this.
Great stuff as always. Thanks Guy!

Genius! I really didn't know why I had so much problems to use many instances of Kontakt...! This is really great!
Thank you 100!!!
Been using Kontakt since version 3 and just can't see myself using another sampler ever. Simply the best thing for music production since the 4-track recorder.
Loved this. Useful or will be once I get it. Focused and to the point. Also enjoyed the enthusiasm and consideration for those without budget for ultimate and loads of memory etc

Thank you so much for I adore your teaching method, so much so ,wish I could have one to one lessons with you. Thankfully you are on RUclips and yes I have subscribed.
Thank you very much. I'm new to Kontakt, using Reaper. I shall have to watch parts of this again and slowly! Especially the section about outputs at 12 minutes in. Many thanks.
This video comes at exactly the right time. Thanks ever so much Guy!! 😀🙏
You're welcome
Great video, Guy! Thank you for revealing the purge trick to me, that's something I didnt't know. Cheers!

Massive knowledgebase here Guy... Thanks millions... Cheers! 👍
Guy you saved me so much pain its untrue. I was in a right mess trying to get a third party app to work with contact. You get my hero of the year award.
Thank you for everything you do for us! Wish a good health and a long long life to you :)
Flawless review my friend. You sure know how to do it. Keep up the good work.
Finally able to arrange tracks in a single kontakt window !! + A few more things. Thanks a ton sir. 🔥🔥
Good grief Guy, thank you very much for doing this detailed exposition. I will have to watch it at least 30 times, but great to have an info-dense introduction. Kudos to you!
Extremely useful info, and I'm envious of you nice bright workspace.
I think one more important note to make is that you can use all non-licensed instruments in Kontakt Player (free version) - BUT! They will only play for 15 minutes. After that you have to either restart the entire DAW or Kontakt to use it again. Duplicating tracks which sometimes opens a new instance of Kontakt does not circumvent the limitation. The full version removes this limitation so that you can use the libraries as shown and the "external" ones, like the massive list of BigCat Instruments.
That was truly amazing. Thanks a lot!
Native Instruments should supply this video with all sales of Kontakt! Well done.
This was so useful Guy, thank you.
