    We’re excited to connect women (and men) to narratives told from a distinctively female perspective. We want the growing Hello Sunshine community of creators and audience members to feel seen and heard. Whether our audience identifies with a character from our book pick or with the heroine (or villain) from our TV shows, or strikes up a conversation sparked by our videos, Hello Sunshine’s mission is to show women as the flawed and often complicated heroes of their own stories. Hello Sunshine - the story starts with you.

    This is why I look up to Emma Stone so much. I have had Generalised anxiety disorder with agoraphobia and panic attacks for as long as she did and I am amazed she still succeeds at making her dream come true. I have a semi-professional actress myself and Video Production student, I should be graduating next year. But I am entirely disabled by anxiety, depression, back injury and now C-PTSD. She inspired me to quit an abusive relationship and pursue my studies in the cinema industry. I made a lot of progress but with quarantine, I am back to square one with agoraphobia and everything that comes with it. I wish I had more help as a child and that people would be more open. The pain, It may not seem physical to you, but I assure you it is. It is ruining lives, over and over. Thank you for this awareness video and for advancing the cause.

    I think the really good news, is that we can actually overcome those mental disorders. That just because we suffer with something doesn't mean we have to live with it all our lives. So much of mental health erroneously labels people with conditions as if they are permanant and part of their identity. And that while we may be able to live "normally" with the help of therapy and medication, the better news, is that we CAN actually also break through to real freedom, where we are not oppressed any longer or defined by those things.

    I appreciate this segment but I don’t think the the doctor should promote anxiety medication as if all bodies/all anxieties are the same and would benefit from medication. If it works for some, great. However, I prefer to treat my anxiety w yoga, running, walking and a healthy lifestyle . As soon as I stop taking care of my physical well being, my anxiety heightens. We need to focus on holistic remedies first before introducing medication. Thanks Emma for talking about dancing! :)

    • @flowersafeheart
      @flowersafeheart 4 года назад +3

      Exactly...it is a very over-drugged world and there are some huge risks with medicating and numbing valid emotions (with some scary side-effects) instead of more a focus on learning to feel and be with and name and discuss and express and understand and manage emotion and self-talk and physically balance the body with healthy lifestyle and self-care and empowerment skills and somatic relaxation and healing nutrition and non-toxic relationships etc. Run-on sentence, sorry, it's late. But speaking from experience as I was way overmedicated as a teen and overall message it sent me was if I expressed or felt too much I should be ashamed and punished and silenced and labeled defective. The body is very wise so if emotion is there there is a good reason for it and something important it has to teach us if we gently listen. And there can be trauma involved, so common. In the peer field they say instead of asking what's wrong with you to ask what happened to you. Am paraphrasing but that was the gist. If a child is anxious let's try asking what's on their mind and how their body feels more and attempting to create a safe enough environment for them to be comfortable sharing about their home life and friendships and feelings and less jumping to labeling them disordered and filling them up with pills. Some professionals who prescribe lots of medication I wonder how comfortable they themselves are with feeling their own emotions and facing their own traumas and if they tend to use substances to numb out? This comment may come across more harsh and judgey than I intend it but I am passionate about the topic and I think feel like being direct and it's very late so am sleepy so not much patience for editing...ok night, RUclips.

      YES! I went through a bout of really bad anxiety 2 years ago (after NEVER having a history of anxiety - though my mom did when she was a kid, and some of my siblings had it), but it was during a time where I had made a huge life transition, wasn’t eating right or taking supplements, and didn’t get enough fresh air and exercise. I think I for sure had deficiencies. As soon as I started taking care of the basic issues: eating something as soon as I got up (no drinking coffee on an empty stomach, cutting back on caffeine in general) taking supplements, getting the right exercise and sleep improved my condition to the point I stopped having any panic attacks. Aromatherapy helped me a lot, too! I’m so glad I went the holistic route first before jumping straight in to medications.

    There has never been a more important time to bring social-emotional wellness into the home and the lives of our little ones. Thank you Reese and Emma for hosting this conversation, and Dr. Harold Koplewicz for the resources and guidance to allow parents and children to find balance in a world that feels a little wobbly right now. This is also an important reminder that it's not just about building healthy skills today, but we're building a foundation for our children to thrive in the world of tomorrow. I hope everyone took a moment today to dance. I know I did! :)

    I've been battling anxiety disorder since age 8. I'm now 45 and its still a struggle occasionally, but I've improved tenfold over the years. I'm not opposed to psychotherapy drugs, but that should be a last resort. Breathing techniques and exercise to naturally release serotonin, plus a clean diet to ensure hormones are naturally balanced...all of these things combined have saved my life. Hormone balance is the biggest issue of all, as hormones live in our gut and the gut is essentially the "second brain". So there's a strong relationship between hormones and anxiety. Drugs act as a band-aid which is fine temporarily, but it won't address the root cause.

    I think that this is a very important subject. Children are the future and the state of their mental health when they are children dictate what kind of adults they will become. By the time people are adults they often can't change psychological issues that stem from their childhood very much. A safe and stable childhood makes for a balanced and well adjusted adult. All parents should be aware of child psychology and that nurture is more powerful than nature.

    I don't think Reese is qualified to really discuss this. She's a celebrity, which means nothing. Is she a licensed therapist? It also bugs me when she puts her stamp of approval on books. Does she have a degree in library science? No - we're supposed to respect what she reads because she's a celebrity, which, again, means nothing.

    Hi, i'm from Ireland. I've had anxiety ever since i was young, my mother died when i was six weeks old and my therapist reckons i have trauma from that even. I think technology is always going to be technology and we can use it to enhance our lives or to damage our lives. Video games, the news, over use of social media and phones, all that crap needs to be used with a pinch of salt. All of our ancestors hunted and grew fruit and veg and lived in and around mountains, rivers and forests -- today, a lot of people have never even been to a forest. I make it my goal every week to walk around trees -- trees emit a hormone that actually makes us happier. Many young people today are not taught about how to live a balanced life in school. First thing to do is, get a good nights sleep, screens off at least 4 hours before bed because the blue light stresses your brain, eat as much organic plant based food as possible (some people have to eat meat otherwise they get lethargic and depressed), walk every day, cycle, ease into it. When you resist a negative emotion, you create more suffering, just let it be, don't cling, don't identify, don't let it pull you along like the Plato horse and cart analogy. We suddenly feel down and we wrestle with it and get upset because we want to feel happy, but the fact is, you don't, so just let it be, don't rush out to take a pill from the doctor, it wont last, if it does, then maybe you should take a pill. Don't just take a pill the moment you feel something. America has got a huge pharmaceutical problem. YOU WILL OCCASIONALLY FEEL DOWN. There's nobody on earth that feels happy all the time. A lot of our suffering comes from clinging or inactivity, we have to WAKE UP. Gurdjieff said we have to be emotionally remote, yes you still have the feeling, but the clinging isn't necessary. Always make time to LAUGH. If you tell yourself good affirmations every day, if you follow a healthy lifestyle...you will notice a difference in your wellbeing, its not rocket science. If you have anxiety or depression then you should teach yourself about it, if you're not into reading then listen to podcast like Tim Ferriss or Joe Rogan, i have gotten a lot of real gems from their guests, which i memorize and write down.

    No drugs are necessary to overcome anxiety (or any mental disorder for that matter). Anxiety is fear, or rather the lack of wanting to feel certain emotions. This suppression of emotion and how to suppress emotion is learned in our childhood and was taught to us by our primary caregivers (usually mom and dad). If you are anxious, then you are holding on to emotions that you need to release and feel fully. Medication is just another way to suppress your emotions and will not help you in the long run. In order to release your anxiety, one needs to face the fears that make them anxious. You do this by actually feeling the fear ( make sure to breath diaphragmatically while processing fear). Fear always covers grief which is the real (or causal ) emotion that you are suppressing, once you feel your fear you will automatically go into grief and start crying (this is the emotion exiting you). Once you have fully felt that emotion related to that particular anxiety you will no longer feel anxious about that issue ever again and it helps you build your faith in yourself that you truly can work through any issues you may have. God Bless and don’t forget to love yourself as well as others.

    • @flowersafeheart
      @flowersafeheart 4 года назад

      A lot of wisdom in this comment. Sometimes tge body shakes or trembles or lauggs or screams or orgasms etc as part of that deep release and expression process too. Emotions are not our enemies. It is great getting to know them and growing closer to ourselves and more self-aware and with super supportive gentle self-talk. Can create such beautiful layered healing. Energy work and prayers or blessings can be involved too. And the more healthy nurturing self-care the better such as nourishing food, good sleep, drinking lots of water, non-toxic empowering relationships, service, creative outlets, time in nature, hygiene, comfortable shelter, and so much more. It is high privilege to access any of those things and we all deserve it.

The same thing goes for my friends that constantly post about COVID-19. I challenge them to not post anything about it for a period of time. Most of the articles out there are opinion-based, as we obviously see that things change rapidly on a daily basis. It just creates an overwhelming amount of stress and anxiety and the key is to escape and do our part individually by staying safe in accordance with the CDC guidelines.

    2:55 "Anxious people find anxious people to marry. If you marry an anxious man, you're going to have to know me the rest of my life." Aside from producing children with a higher probability of having an anxiety disorder, for those adults already diagnosed, having a humourous and easygoing partner to help put them at ease and smooth out the little bumps in daily life is a blessing which can't be emphasized enough. Humour is part of the glue that holds a relationship together.

    Fantastic. Thank you. Grateful to watch this. We have so much to learn from kidz. But ofcourse its important to take care of yourself first, otherwise the kid will worry and try to become a mother/father. We have the knowledge inside us, in the heart, in the breath and body. Especially mothers. You had child-birth trauma and that is very very very sad to hear, And also Upsetting.-> A Lot is controlled by money. And masculine energy - I know its confusing! We ALL Have this ENERGY inside of us! But just sit down and listen. And take out your anger or logic somewhere where noone can see you. Maybe become more like a child, join a men’s group, go to therapy/body dynamic therapy/. Thank you for reading.

Our home environment was so dysfunctional growing up (imagine that, developmental years in an unsecure environment, the outcome is an insecure me) that having a normal day was confusing to me, when it was finally dealt with by my parents.

    Celebrities have.really stepped up during this pandemic.Whilst doctors and nurses are playing there part it's celebrities who have been the real heroes.They are so selfless and speak to me so much about my life.Perhaps we could acknowledge them by simultaneously clapping at a certain time.#Help celebrities stay relevant.

    Mankind has forgotten/neglected the presence of spirits in the world, Jesus spoke of and cast out demon spirits while he walked the Earth. These people had mental issues, Jesus cast out the demon, their mental issues were gone.
