Steveo. I’m 35 years old. You were my idol growing up. You made using drugs and getting wasted so cool. I thought you were the man. Then you got sober and so did I. Man you helped me with my recovery in so many ways. I owe you so much. You’re a big reason why I’m sober. 11 years and 12 days today. Thank you Steve o
Wow good for you, Jimmy. That’s incredible. So glad to see u found something that worked well for you. Keep fighting. ✌️☺️
good for you dude personally still suffering from alcoholism but have been drug free for 3 plus years and understand what you have been through, big pat on the back dude
Weed isn't bad its alcohol
@@Horror_Film_Aficionado bro I'm not talking about weed lmfao I still rock the odd bong
@@andrewprobst846 you hard-core party animal! 🤣
20 years ago I never would’ve thought I’d be watching Steve o and Kevin talk about life in a van and it would make me cry. Love these dudes
What a pu c lmao 😭
In under 2 hours I have:
1. Hope for: Hurt others, feel pain... Hurt animals, feel torture
2. Resolved Burnout guilt. I grew a charity and a full time job.
3. PUMPED I was made redundant. Good, but not my ikigsi.
What the hell?? CHEAPEST THERAPY EVER!
I died once, it was during a spinal fusion surgery and they punctured my descending aorta and my lung filled with blood. My consciousness seemed to jump ahead in time and my body was being pushed on a gurney into the morgue. I saw 3 different bodies on gurneys and I began yelling that “I’m not dead, they are, no I’m not gonna die!” I later learned that they didn’t know they punctured my aorta until I was finished in surgery and was in intensive care and they had to rush me back into an operating room to do chest tubes and shock me to save my life. The mental imaging of that memory is still crystal clear even though that was 14 years ago
I have so much respect for the person Steve-O has become. Proud of you dude.
I bet he was always a good person, but the persona of Steve-O took over
I actually liked him more when he was loaded, he was very entertaining.
But yeah, I'm proud of him too. I too am a recovering addict, I get it.
But man... one entertaining mfer.
Never in a million years did I think I would be listening to Steveo and Silent Bob talk about the afterlife, but damn it was good. Much love !
This is up there as one of the greatest episodes. So deep, and so vulnerable, yet so clever and funny. This is was a collab I didn't know I needed
He had great chemistry with Jason too. I hope to see Steve in a Kevin Smith movie someday
Definitely. Only 15 minutes in and there's so much to take in
That was deep to you?
I´m late to this, but you are sooo right!!! Steve-O and Kevin Smith made me cry?! This wasn´t supposed to happen, hahaha!!!!
@@erikchristiansen1457 I think him and Mewes would be funny on screen together
Two icons of my generation. Freaking love this.
Steve-O in Clerks 4? Make it so
Steve O in Clerks!!
Kevin Smith is the coolest dude ever.
I used to believe that. I was a fan since Clerks. But after he fully endorsed SW:TFA, which convinced me to see it and it was shit, I became seriously suspect of his intentions. But after his shameless woke perversion of MotU, that he lied about when it was leaked, that turned out to all be true, I was done with Smith. He became just another entertainment $hill pushing whatever narrative he was told too for a moment in the spotlit in a failing career..
@@Cognaxance💯 & 1️⃣0️⃣ %
I’m continually amazed how insightful and thoughtful Steveo is. The mature tone he takes on when describing the addict’s recovery process is so inspiring. He’s so valuable for so many communities, it’s amazing.
@Daniel Hollingsworth we seen it turn out differently rich or not do you sound dumb
One of the best episodes. The convo just flowed so smoothly, like they were on the same brain waves.
Different eyes on the same head lol
Kevin is a gem. He gave me a hug at my last con and made me feel like a friend. I love both these guys. I’m 42 and recovering from an alcohol addiction. I grew up watching Steve O implode trying to entertain us. Now he’s like a daily inspiration. ❤ Who knew??
I'm a 34 prior professional athlete. I looked up to SteveO especially after he got sober. I struggled with pain pills for almost a decade and used to make the excuse that it was the hard training, until I started listening to SteveO about sobriety and enjoying his life and taking responsibility. I took the steps to get clean and have been doing better the last 3 years of my life than I have ever. Thanks for sharing your journey SteveO.
Great job, opiates are extremely difficult to stop! I’ve had 11 years of spinal fusion surgeries and was prescribed fentanyl and oxycodone the whole time. I tried stopping a dozen times but I learned that I had PAWS, Post Acute Withdraw Symptoms which resulted in the sweats, shakes withdrawal hell for over a year! I finally became successful 4 years ago 🙏 I’ve learned that reducing pain will reduce love passion, self respect and basically everything that makes us whole.
@@18436572gmc 100%... the numbness is terrifiying
As poly drug addict, I am on methadone maintenance therapy. Anyway, I loved how you said, "for the last 3 years I have been doing so much better", because just like they say in AA , it's progress not perfection. Every day is a clean slate
This podcast ended up being way more thought provoking than expected! Great pod 👊
Heck yeah I concur with your statement 100%, man it was badass!
"No one has the answer" he says. With this logic your saying you know more than Jesus Christ. Mercy is giving without expecting anything in return. Burying the dead was the last declared mercy of the Catholic Church. God have mercy on us. Kevin should have stayed in school. He's glad he grew up Catholic with it's teachings and has turned his back. Traitor. There are a ton of fake Catholics out there... Joe Biden, Nasty Pelosi, Gavin Bang your Wife Newsom, Justin Trudeau, Cuomo Brothers, Fr. James Martin.... Those who forget the past are reaching for the future, they shew they are not content with the present. Divine reason is a gift of the holy spirit. Logic will only take you so far, logic is a Greek conclusion. We wouldn't have the understandings of how the universe works without faith. Sadly people stop being humble, they are prideful, their ego tells them they are important, fallen nature is on full display. People get so self involved they quit suffering so someone else doesn't have too. We can willeth and runneth, but only Jesus can carry us. The Catholic church has been burying it's undertaker's for 2,000 years. Everyone makes fun of Catholics until it's time to call an exorcist. Most of the comics if not all that Kevin cherishes we're in the purview of the Bible. This is a case of someone worshipping the creation rather than the creator. Science will never outlive the reason.
Steve-O needed this type of stimulating conversation. Being able to educate back how much he understands how his brain works, is how he overcame. Kevin Smith has ALWAYS been a learner and people connector. And by throwing thoughts back to Steve-O I can how excited Steve-O was to talk about himself at a much much higher intellect. Steve-O is not selfaware of his intellect, and this discussion allowed him to show his intellect on a vulnerable level. Very cool. I love you Kevin Smith!
Being someone who’s always struggled with their weight (especially my upper body) it’s always very nice to hear that someone as famous as Kevin Smith struggles with the same body issues. Especially someone being so open about it.
I wish SteveO was my sober living partner. The way he embodies what’s good about recovery inspires me. This was a great conversation.
I love seeing the people I grow up share their stories of recovery. This is definitely what I needed to hear today.
This conversation was much needed for me,my father is really sick and I've been taking care of him, thank you for this conversation Steve-O!
Your pops will be alright . Keep him comfy .
That's rough. Good on you for stepping up.
I've listened to every episode Steve O and this is absolutely my favourite. Props to you and Kevin for an amazing hour and a half.
The 2- and 3-sided parts of this back and forth are amazing. Great work. Seriously y'all killing it.
I didn't expect this podcast to be as deep as it was but it really opens your eyes and mind. This episode is by far my favorite podcast ever.
I've seen Kevin in a lot of different scenarios, and he is always the same. I met him in front of 100s of fans, he is exactly the same with Steve-O. It's just really great to see.
Lol, I love that you have now had Jay and Silent Bob on here. Love Kevin and his movies. Especially Clerks, Mallrats, and Chasing Amy.
This is one of the greatest conversations I’ve ever seen these men have!! It was a pleasure watching this. Man, this episode is so.damn.GOOD!
Steve-O went from a self-destructive jackass (pun intended) to a wise sage who has one of the best podcasts on RUclips.
I love how open and honest Steve-O is with his guests and I appreciate his willingness to counter other people's opinions.
“Wise sage”? Have you ever picked up a book?
It's a wild ride afterall
If youve ever sat thru the worst 3 hours of steve os addiction on tom green live, which is still on youtube, then u know exactly where he came from...to have that 3 hours imprinted in ur mind, while watching him this past year or so on this podcast...should be clear divine intervention.
Absolutely the best Wild Ride I've watched so far. Couldnt even take a break from watching it. Fucking love Kevin Smith, Incredible interview Steve-O! Yea Dude!
Kevin is cool but he gives the same interview to every podcast
@@TheDegenerateTravler this man spends his life talking about his past experiences. If you have heard some of the stories it’s because they really matter to him. He is probably the best interviewee Steve O has had.
This really is one of the most beautiful discussions I’ve seen regarding the issue of “life after death.” I stay up late at night thinking of this exact topic. This is so helpful.
This is my favourite episode you’ve ever done Steve-O. Such an insightful conversation, with an excellent guest.
The Kev Smith podcast tour has begun! Im so stoked to see him everywhere
This hands down has been one of my favorite episodes love these guys, love the topic. Holy shit we it got deep, really making me think about what I'm doing and how I'm viewing myself in the scheme of the whole thing.
Best podcast I have heard in a while! I can tell all three parties have such great insight from their life experiences. It is so nice for everyone to listen to each other with respect.
I reallly appreciate this podcast. I grew up with these guys, and have been through similar struggles. It's encouraging and gives me hope to see how far Steve-o and a lot of his guests have come.
This was very compelling…listening to the view points, the experiences, and most importantly the context was really eye opening.
Met Kevin Smith once, he is the most talkative person, I wish I could smoke up with him once.
Clerks 3 can't wait for this.
Always loved Kevin Smith! Never thought I'd watch such an eloquent podcast involving Steve O. Both my parents died last year and I sincerely hope that thing about a weight being lifted off you as you ascend is true, and I hope they weren't scared with all my heart!!!!!! Definitely a rewatchable episode!!! Made me cry, like 5 times but felt so warm and assuring!!!
This is one of the deepest conversations I've ever been privileged to watch!!! Amazing views of life on all levels truly helpful with my sobriety and life questions ✨️
This was the best hour and 40 minutes I have spent watching a podcast. I admire both Steve-o and Kevin Smith so freaking much.... I knew getting these two together would be magical and I was corrected... I will probably watch this more then once... So much stuff to think about. Thank you Kevin and Steve-o!

I love episodes like this where you can tell these topics are not forced, you guys are genuinely conversating and vibing.
This is honestly one of my favourite interviews you've done in a very long time! 🥰 i hope you can get both jason and kevin on together one day! 🥰
This was my favorite episode,Kevin Smith is a legend man,and the conversation you guys had together was mind opening and mind blowing.u have to do this again with him for sure, you should have him and Jason mewes at the same time, they are great together
One of the best podcasts on here. The section about life after death was powerful I have struggles with this question and the pod gave me a sense of peace and not to worry too much!
So good dude. I face death a lot at my job and it really fucked me up for a while. Taking the mentality you outlined here has helped me a lot, keep up the good work brother.
Clerks has one the most iconic movie lines. Whenever someone says, "I'm not even supposed to be here today🙄" people automatically know it's from Clerks 😂
It's always cool to see somebody at a later part of their life start to digest and look at life completely different due to years of therapy throughout the process of getting clean. Steveo has genuinely developed this profound insight through therapy he recieved throughout his sober journey. You can clearly see and hear his years of therapy in each and every explanation he gives.
Kevin Smith's smodcast and jay and silent bob get old got me through many lonely nights working 3rd shift back in the day. Dudes a legend and such a good insightful conversationalist.
This is by far my favorite episode. I don't know why but for as long as I can remember I have always felt a connection with Kevin Smith, He really always brings me back to the 90's/2000's. I was born in 1992 but I always feel like I was meant to experience the 90's the way you and Kevin did, so I have this unexplainable connection to all of the stuff you guys did back then. Keep doing what you do bro this episode connected with me more than anything, it was entertaining from beginning to end.
It's a wonderful thing to see how far Steve-O has come. Im so proud of him for how much he has evolved!! 💗💗💗
I don't think I'll ever in my life forget this conversation. Thank you guys.
I just love all three of these guys. Great people with awesome personalities. Great podcast good conversation topics. Much Love to all three of you! I'm home with Covid 19 isolating and this podcast really helped bring up my spirit.
Covid?! That's so... retro....
Definitely one of the best episodes you guys have had so far! I was so into it I didn’t even realize it was a half hour longer than usual until you said something at the end. Love the dude you’ve become Steve-o. Keep up the great content man!
This was so, so fascinating! Great interview Steveo-O! The discussion with Kevin Smith on his heart attack and out of body experience was just amazing!
They’re asking where the information goes when we die… we’ll look up how people that have gotten transplants from deceased people suddenly take up some of their hobbies and interests. Fascinating
Yah dude! Been wanting to see this interview! Can’t wait! Thx Steve-o
Thank you for saving my life guys.. these podcasts are the most important contributions in your careers
I didn't expect this... but absolutely loved it! What a beautiful conversation!
Man what a wonderful talk, loved this one. listened to it a few times, keep up the good work guys!
Damn, what an episode. Felt so good to hear such an in depth convo about the meaning of life and all the aspects interconnected within it between the three of you, so enlightening. I've been researching pretty much the same subject matter for years so felt so validating hearing you guys talk so openly about it. By far my favorite episode you've put out Steve-O. I'll be checking out that book you referenced, "Conversations with God" as well. Thank you for that spiritual journey guys!
Thank you guys for this. Been a really long week and it's only Monday. This definitely helped me get through the day!
This is one of the best episodes Steve & Scott! Have listened to them all and many multiple times, but this one is very candid and insightful absolutely loved how involved I was in listening about the afterlife.
Did you catch the youtube channel scott says he watches? I cant find where in the video it is
I love you guys! You dudes bring tears to my eyes with all the Poignant things you say. Thank you
This is one of the most interesting interview I have ever seen. Very well done to both of them. Kevin smith is a great story teller and speaker .
Wow. This is amazing. Kevin smith is a treasure. Steve-o blew my mind with some truth I could never put to words myself. God? No God? This podcast explores thoughts that I've had and never said out loud. I almost cried. Wtf? This came from Steve-o's show? Steve-o? What? Fucking round of Applause!!! This conversation is beautiful and mind blowing. Fuck yeah. I love it. Even if you disagree, the things I heard here help me narrow everything I've ever silently felt and thought about the meaning life. It might be wrong, but to me it feels so right.
Amen
46 minutes in and I had to stop so I could comment. Phenomenal so far! I am a recovering alcoholic and addict and hearing the talk about that between you all was great stuff. Then talks of Kevin's heart attack, body shame issues, weight, death - all of it have been in my life and it was good to realize how we as humans can pull through. The greatest part is living to tell the tales to others. EXCELLENT!
YEEEEEES! Thank you, Steve-O for having Kevin Smith on your Wild Ride!!!!!! I love Kevin's work and have been a fan of his for decades
I've had all the same thoughts! Love these conversations, and I think we, as a society, and as a human, should have more of them.
Amazing Steve-O and crew! These get better and better. My NJ roots obviously had to click on this! Kevin is legend.

This turned incredibly deep and I LOVE it. Another great podcast!
I always appreciate Scott’s input on conversations… it’s cool to see him light up on a topic
I never. Cared for him too much untill as of late. Now I'm really starting to appreciate his contributions.
What he said about being addicted to shame hit me like a ton of bricks
This podcast series is great. Lads are dropping jewels on each episode, life advise and funny stories. Steve-O is always sharp, on the ball and totally engaged. Great guests and I love the honesty

I’m such a massive fan of Kevin, Jay, and all the podcasts and stuff that’s Smodcast! This interview will be great. I suggest a tear or two from Kev. A wonder why Steve-o has never been In a clerks/J&SB movie? He would fit in great as a long lost relative of Jay..
Kevin is a sell out
@@dtann7026 humor me, at what point did he sell out?
@@jimmyjump8335 here’s one. Netflix paid him to be the writer or director for the he man series and he did a press run talking about how big of a fan he was and how he was going to stay true to the original. Then people did some digging and found an interview with him from years ago saying he was never a fan of he man and didn’t watch it. He also went full on woke and retconned he man into being secondary to a female character.

In the beginning when Steveo says this is his new all time favorite podcast, he was not exaggerating! Wow this was the most insightful articulate conversation about life I have ever witnessed. Love your content Steveo.
I've been obsessed with NDEs for a while and I'm so happy you guys are talking about it and getting it out there. Awesome show, thank you!
I love that you guys talk about this so openly. Small jokes and jabs, but ultimately love. Hearing your different stories makes me realize I am lucky but also... I may be an addict in my own ways. I am not drinking anymore and struggling with it because two of my friends died and I got the news of then within an hour of each other. I am still crying from time to time. But I didn't drink. Yet here I am eating a Hershey bar and a Dr Pepper for the first meal of the day.
49min update. Oof. Super emotional. My step dad died at 47. Died in my mom's arms in a hospital. Long story. He had technically died before on the operating table and they restarted his heart against his wishes. He didn't have a legal DNR. He was then in a coma for 28 days. When he woke up he wanted to write. And he wrote so many crazy things he saw and things he got to relive and redo and see where that path took him. He also drew a map for my mom to find his fishing spot in the afterlife. It was a surreal thing for him to talk about because he was always anti religion and anti spirituality. Dying for a bit change his perception and the final 2 years of his life were pretty nice despite the health issues.
Hi FUBAR. Hoping you still drinking your soda.

This is my favorite interview you guys have ever done. I know people like to rag on Kevin Smith, but you can tell the guy is passionate and his kindness comes from the heart.
What do they say about Kevin Smith?
