It's 2023 and I've got all of them going: The Big Valley, Cheyenne, Alias Smith & Jones, Gunsmoke, The Rifleman, Wagon Train...fabulous writing, characters, etc.
Miss the dear Lorne Greene. Loved Bonanza, and glad it's still on, watch it everyday. Lorne Greene was an extraordinary Man, a very distinguished human being, and wonderful actor. Together with Pernell, Michael Landon, and Dan Blocker, and Candy, and all the quest stars that played on Bonanza shows,. It was a fantastic show.
I wanted to hear Mr Greene's story of the Peregrine Falcon. He was rudely interrupted by the host to show a video clip that itself was interrupted..However, Mr Greene's silent pause after he was cut off...spoke volumes. What a class act.
One of the last actor/thespians with a unique distinctive way about himself and a unmistakable clear concise sharpe baritone that exudes an authoritative calm but you know he means business! 😆Thank You Lorne Greene R.I.P. 🙏🏿✝️🌄
Bonanza was an amazing show! I loved to see it everyday after school. The entire cast made magic on the screen. I was disappointed when Pernell Roberts perceived that the show was holding him back from a more successful acting career. This was sadly his own ego, being his worst enemy.
I have also been critical of Pernell in the past, but I am not sure that I would go that far. He did have some valid points about the direction the show was taking, especially in the last couple of years of his being on it. In the end, I think more than anything else he was somewhat of a wanderer; he just did not like being tied to any one show or part. This was evidenced by his career after Bonanza, in which he guest starred on just about every show on TV in the 70s and 80s. He did finally land a part on another TV show, as a surgeon in the title role of Trapper John, MD, which has its origins on M*A*S*H, and that show was highly successful and ran for about six years. And he also had a fairly extensive career in the theater, and he was in a few movies both before and after Bonanza. Additionally, he occupied a good deal of his time with social and environmental causes. All in all, although he never became the big movie star that he envisioned himself as a-la Gary Cooper or Robert Mitchum, I would say that Pernell Roberts had a very successful career. (And admittedly, at times a big ego too.)
Yeah that was rude when the lady interrupted him. He seemed to be a real gentleman. People use the word gentleman on the internet and haven't a clue what it means often.
Great show im.happy to see the younger generation watching the show . I hope bonanza is watched years after im gone. I'm 43 grew up watching the reruns with my grandparents and watch it to this day every chance I can.
Thoughtful, intelligent actor who wants to dig deep......and flimsy interviewers sure don't want to hear about his environmental and social concerns....
Love Lorne greene I use to watch bonanza in reruns when I was a kid after school. To bad he passed away before they made bonanza the next generation he was suppose to star in.
Funny you should say that,..I was only watching an episode two hours ago, Hoss was smitten with a woman who was taking him to the cleaners (she was a compulsive gambler) and early in their courtship (the episode was called 'The Courtship') he was telling her about the 'Ponderosa' and how 'Pa says if he we cut down a tree we make sure we have another tree planted' and talking of the 'Ponderosa' as a partnership. It was made more than 50 years ago and Hoss could easily have been talking about the world we live in today, very prescient, R.I.P. Hoss and the Cartwrights.
@@terrythekittieful yeah I can't see real clear right now slept thru today's Bonanza thought you were commenting on some comments I made on cat sites by your titlei think in Robinson cruesoe when they dug up a tree on a lsland they plant a seed in its place smarter back then than we are today
They made a fortune because they had all kinds of products, as a kid I had all the Bonanza horses and guns sets especially Bens gun sets. Lunch boxes etc and they got a piece of the action. As they should. Bonanza was the first show in color and it was beautiful scenery around Lake Tahoe.

Rest in Peace Lorne Greene thank you for the good and exciting memories on the bonanza tv shows.
I am still watching 2021. Still enjoying Bonanza.

I watched Bonanza since I was 10 yrs. old. Now that I'm in my 60's I still watching it with enjoyment.

Me 2..
I 💘 this man..
Miss him
Is it your Bible?
Bonanza is timeless. One of the best t v shows ever.
One of the most decent and caring actors we've had. I can't believe he's gone, ... he's someone I would have loved to have met and chatted with.
me too .

Mr. Greene was a superb actor. Very under rated in my opinion. Crying shame he is no longer with us. RIP Mr. Greene.
Then he would be about 107 years old.

Lovely interview

When Lorne is telling a story - DON'T INTERRUPT!
Yeah that was rude when the lady interrupted him.

Lorne Greene was a very handsome man. I loved Bananza.
It seems like the people who knew Lorne Greene universally admired and respected him. Just one of those decent, stand-up human beings.
Ofcourse... M not even from tht Era... Still love the actors
Mr. Lorne Greene was my best acter i like him and he looks like my Country farmer man who i know sorry about his death he was a great man.RIP
Thoughtful, intelligent actor who wants to dig deep......and flimsy interviewers sure don't want to hear about his environmental and social concerns....
It's so rude asking someone if they're going to ever retire
Thanks for posting that. Great to see a classic actor.
Glad you enjoyed it
Enamorada de este gran actor. Descansa en paz querido Lorne. Gracias por ser el cariñoso Ben: Gran PA de Hoss y Joe!
3:28, I bet Lorne Greene would be ashamed of Hollywood if he saw it today in 2022!
Lorne and Roberts were the best in Bonanza.
Looks?? I see you woman
If there ever was a real Ben Cartwright, Lorne Greene filled those boots.

Lorne had a great voice and Bonanza brought up some environmental issues

Excelente actor
You don’t interrupt a guest like she did
ohhhh how they were trying for Lorne to say something bad ...and Lorne was very strategic !!!
yes they have their dumb script & its so rude
highlighted reply all those entertainment anchors are like that Lorne was old school - gentleman and an awesome guy.
I find Lorne so be so different in the interview from the Ben on Bonanza.
Sue Kellayway is very obnoxious. She sounds jealous that Bonanza was so popular. Bonanza is one of the greatest classics in America.
I think some of the entertainment anchors ARE a bit jealous, they want to be stars, I guess. But you bring up a good point.
Unos grandes del las crié bonanza

Reminds me of Sean Connery
3:22, Greene's opinion of Hollywood.
Ben siempre elegante simpático
👍👍
