    Miss the dear Lorne Greene. Loved Bonanza, and glad it's still on, watch it everyday. Lorne Greene was an extraordinary
    Man, a very distinguished human being, and wonderful actor. Together with Pernell, Michael Landon, and Dan Blocker, and
    Candy, and all the quest stars that played on Bonanza shows,. It was a fantastic show.

    I wanted to hear Mr Greene's story of the Peregrine Falcon. He was rudely interrupted by the host to show a video clip that itself was interrupted..However, Mr Greene's silent pause after he was cut off...spoke volumes. What a class act.

    One of the most decent and caring actors we've had. I can't believe he's gone, ... he's someone I would have loved to have met and chatted with.

    One of the last actor/thespians with a unique distinctive way about himself and a unmistakable clear concise sharpe baritone that exudes an authoritative calm but you know he means business! 😆Thank You Lorne Greene R.I.P. 🙏🏿✝️🌄

    Bonanza was an amazing show! I loved to see it everyday after school. The entire cast made magic on the screen. I was disappointed when Pernell Roberts perceived that the show was holding him back from a more successful acting career. This was sadly his own ego, being his worst enemy.

    • @trwent
      @trwent Год назад +1

      I have also been critical of Pernell in the past, but I am not sure that I would go that far. He did have some valid points about the direction the show was taking, especially in the last couple of years of his being on it. In the end, I think more than anything else he was somewhat of a wanderer; he just did not like being tied to any one show or part. This was evidenced by his career after Bonanza, in which he guest starred on just about every show on TV in the 70s and 80s. He did finally land a part on another TV show, as a surgeon in the title role of Trapper John, MD, which has its origins on M*A*S*H, and that show was highly successful and ran for about six years. And he also had a fairly extensive career in the theater, and he was in a few movies both before and after Bonanza. Additionally, he occupied a good deal of his time with social and environmental causes.
      All in all, although he never became the big movie star that he envisioned himself as a-la Gary Cooper or Robert Mitchum, I would say that Pernell Roberts had a very successful career. (And admittedly, at times a big ego too.)

      Funny you should say that,..I was only watching an episode two hours ago, Hoss was smitten with a woman who was taking him to the cleaners (she was a compulsive gambler) and early in their courtship (the episode was called 'The Courtship') he was telling her about the 'Ponderosa' and how 'Pa says if he we cut down a tree we make sure we have another tree planted' and talking of the 'Ponderosa' as a partnership. It was made more than 50 years ago and Hoss could easily have been talking about the world we live in today, very prescient, R.I.P. Hoss and the Cartwrights.

    They made a fortune because they had all kinds of products, as a kid I had all the Bonanza horses and guns sets especially Bens gun sets. Lunch boxes etc and they got a piece of the action. As they should. Bonanza was the first show in color and it was beautiful scenery around Lake Tahoe.
