- Need to track time so you can bill your client? Want to know who's spending how much time on what?
Introducing Timesheet, an add-on that makes tracking time simple.
Track time by clicking the green timer at the top of to-dos, cards, docs, and more. To capture work that happened elsewhere, add time to the project itself on the project home page. You can add hours for other people on the project, too, which is handy if they forgot.
The green timer shows the total hours for the project or the specific item. To view the details for the entire project, click the ••• menu on the project homepage, then See the Timesheet. Don’t worry, clients don’t have access to Timesheet.
There’s also a new report under Activity that shows totals across your projects. Click Timesheets, then filter the report by project, person, or date range if needed. Download a CSV file if you need to use the data elsewhere.
Timesheet is included in the Pro Unlimited plan or you can purchase the add-on for your account.

I know they experiment with pricing a lot. The $50 upgrade for time tracking is fair for bigger businesses. But freelancers it’s a a tough one. Seems like the pricing for this is not balance compared to the cost of Basecamp. Just my opinion. But I am glad they are finally offering it.
I hear you but $50 for ANYTHING today seems reasonable to me.
Pretty steep for a fairly basic feature at $50 a month as an add-on, even if you only have 1 user
I work solo, and yes, it's too expensive here in the DR. I'll stick to Hey Time Tracking.
Would be nice to be able to have a timer instead of put it manually
Agreed, as it is I'll still need a separate app to actually track my time.
Love it... but 50$/month for a 2 person team.
Please tell me this is part of BaseCamp and not a paid upgrade? If so, it's starting to feel like you are nickle and diming your clients.
Yeah its a bit disappointing to see more and more of Basecamp as "paid add ons", like one of their lines is "Every Feature You Need" which is that everything in Basecamp is included in the single monthly fee.
Hmmm yeah with the current USD > AUD exchange rate...... didn't realise this is an add-on, extra $50/month (that's AUD$75+) ..... would love it but I think there are other tools half the price that my team need more right now (and so I think we can stick to our current time tracking arrangements). It's a shame because this looks like a great feature. Will wait and see
Try the USD to ZAR exchange rate, currently around 18.5 to 1. $50 for us is massive.
@@AthloneH whoa!!
How are the house prices there? Sydney's now 2nd most expensive (just ridiculous)... aud$1.8 million average 🤌🤦♂️
@@danieldl actually, relatively affordable overall, but compared to most other places, very cheap and great bang for buck.
If it has a timer start button, I switch from Everhour
@37signals seriously, there are bigger priority to solve on Basecamp...
This is a paid update? That's a joke. Time tracking that doesn't have a timer.
