Having friends and family who have experienced all types of family situations, I have learned to ask other questions when talking to people (especially getting to know people) like "tell me about your family". This way they can share what they want to share.
I think it’s hard to understand exactly how painful the baby question is unless you’ve gone through a struggle with it. I don’t blame anyone for being curious but I think a better question is “what are your plans together for the next few years?” And let people share what they’re comfortable with.

I suspect there's an additional reason people ask couples when they'll have a baby: habit and culture. It's an easy, thoughtless question to ask. Even if there's curiosity behind it, that curiosity itself can be habitual. So I think it's sometimes coming from a very neutral place, rather than a good place. In Vanessa's case, she was playing the role of the enthusiastic and doting nosy woman/aunt. I'm sure it's an easy role to fall into, especially if you're not staying in touch with yourself, making genuine and customized connections with those around you. Roles like this can seem safe, comfortable, significant. We grow up around people who adopted these roles, and so we follow the pattern, take on those roles ourselves. Think about the other questions we ask and things we say to people at different stages of life: "Do you have a boyfriend yet?" "She's in a better place." "Why aren't you married yet?" "What's your major?" Sometimes, a phrase or question is a social norm because it's actually appropriate in 95% percent of cases. But often-like with "When are you having a baby?"-it's not. So I when I find myself wanting to say something or ask a question, especially regarding a sensitive topic, I try to pause. Do I want to say the thing because it's easy, because it fits a cultural script? Because it's part of a role I can take, offering me the *symbols* of a doting aunt or concerned friend? Or do I want to say it because it truly fits this person and our relationship?

My wife and I got married late last year, and we get asked the "baby questions" all of the time. I calmly say, "We're just trying to enjoy each other right now" and quickly move on. Personally, I don't think anyone except immediate family should be asking that. I get that it's from a good place but give it a rest. When said married couple wants you to know, they'll tell you.
I dont want kids but happen to have fertility issues as well. Im so sick of the "when are you having kids?" That instead of communicating how i dont want kids I just drop the fertility issues fact. If they wanna invade my privacy even if they think its from a goodhearted place, imma use my situation to point out how shitty their question can be 🤷♀️ Plus the look of horror when they think they offended me over it makes up for the annoyance I experience. Like what if I did want kids but the issues I have were sensitive then? (For the record i mostly do this to coworkers/friends of family who really have no business knowing)

I personally don't think that you guys should be limited to hosting dating shows. I think the idea of you guys having your own dating show is great but you guys have potential beyond that. Vanessa did ask the question too many times but the backlash against her was not proportional to what she actually did. Keep in mind that how the public turned against her, they can turn against both of you. I personally would love to see every day vlog content of you guys.
Chile Vanessa is backlash was appropriate and proportional not just because of her questions but because of her attitude and bias and lack of focus on the right things. As a host you have to remember that in the midst of the drama people want balance of love. We didn’t get any of the love. She can learn and do better one day… backlash isn’t the end of the world.

Having thousands of people attacking you on social media has a negative impact on your emotional well-being and can even take your ability to feed your family. I think how Cameron addressed the issue was respectful and to the point though I will admit I found it unnecessary because the whole world was already dragging Vanessa. We will never understand what it feels like to make a mistake in front of the world and be attacked by thousands until it happens to us. Maybe then we will show empathy and grace.

Ppl seem to disregard that Paul said in the interview after he said no was that there were moments alone when he would try to get vulnerable and express his love and she would joke or shy away or sumthing. And he said he didn’t know if that was just her deflecting but that concerned him. Point blank she was on the show for her own benefit and to maybe find a boyfriend, and she would’ve said no eventually if she did lie and say yes first at that alter.
