I love this period of commercial design and what it was like to drive into a service station during the 50's. Sometimes three guys would come out and pump the gas, check the fluids, clean the windscreen, and check the tires......all for 29.9 cents per gallon. Then if you had a service issue, they would bring your vehicle into the garage and do repairs at $2.50 per hour. Have a problem today? Just walk into the gas station, negotiate the many aisles of junk food snacks, and ask the pock-mocked behind the counter kid with tattoos and rings in his lip for help. He'll stare at you wondering what planet you are from. Oh yes, I forgot that during that period, often a set of drink glasses would be bestowed upon you or a furry tiger tail to stick in your tank door. What the f--k happened??? I relive this period through my models, and never want to leave this period in time except for advancements in medical science.
