I've discovered that Triumph have changed the lock barrel design I believe on the MK3. I had a 2016 MK2 with two metal panniers but no Topbox but I did have the 3rd lock when I brought the Bike. I decided to fit Givi 58ltr Topbox (it stores two full face helmets) and soon discovered that the lock barrels between the Givi & Triumph were different ( Givi make Triumph's Metal Boxes & Panniers) so had to carry two keys. Recently I brought a MK3 which had a Triumph 42ltr Topbox so I swapped Topboxes putting the Givi on the MK3 and the Triumph on the MK2 and thought I'll put the spare lock from the MK2 in the MK3's box - No it's different, just slightly and won't engage the lock mechanism because the end of the MK3's lock is slightly different to the Mk2's - so frustrating
Thanks for the video but trying to get my lock barrels out of the Genuine Triumph [givi] cases to re fit them in the new cases like these.Tried everything i can but no joy,you can`t take the case cover off to get to the back of the barrel or been told a ground down allen key works to get into the rear of the lock..no joy either....any advise would be great...TIA..
Hello ( sorry for my english ,i am french ) Do you know if it's the same system for top case Trekker Outback 42 l ? and posible the reference of barrels ? thank you...
@@adrianbaxter9569 I don't have locks bought 2nd hand panniers but would like to change all locks top box / panniers to same key the only lock I find have a thread and nut at the end of the barrel not sure if it fits any advice thanks

@@josmith1240 hi Jo, you can purchase a full set of 5 from the dealer with 2 keys I reckon its around £30+ my mate bought a set a couple of months ago
But changing the lot means swapping the ignition barrel and I know nothing about that.
@@adrianbaxter9569 many thanks will give Triumph a ring in morning .Im not changing ignition just top box & panniers as got 4 keys just want 2
If the cases are unlatched, you don't need the old key.
How do you level all the tumblers? You do need a key
