Lol @Rickenbacker 620. Great cleans, but pedaled up with some fuzz and OD, Evil Knievel indeed, lol. Looks like stock nickel covers, but who knows what is under them?
I saw Unknown Hinson play with the Reverend Horton Heat at 1st ave in Minneapolis a few years ago. He didn't open for the Rev. he played with them. He will blow you and the Reverend away. Many many years of playing live music and pure talent on display. Just an all around great show. For some reason The Reverend Horton Heat finds really great people to play with.
@@Drjackdempsey9644 I've seen the Reverend many many times. I bet the "Rev" is Impressed by this cartoon guitar player. It was a great show. But the Reverend always picks great bands to play with.
@@pb12661@jr2904 y'all don't get it. That's an old Unknown joke from years ago where he says anybody can play rock, but it takes real talent to play Country and Western. "A damn fifteen year old punk can play that mess."
God he's getting a GREAT sound out of that Rick! Hinson can play ANYTHING, it seems. I love his quirky country, but it's good to hear him open up once in awhile. Talkin' about shredding it!
I've seen him 3 times in 15 years with his band, but now he's been doing sideman duty for others, most recently in Billy Bob Tornton's BoxMasters. I've been doing sound for 30 years (including one of Thornton's hero's) and with players like this, I'd work that tour in a heartbeat!
I was today years old when I learned that a rickenbacher was capable of perfect Hendrix tones clean or dirty. Unknown till today ~ man, that was great!!!
Rickenbacker 620's have a phenomenal tone (especially through a Vox valve amp) which are overly stereotyped as a "one trick pony"/rhythm guitar (only) and under utilized as a lead/shred guitar IMHO. This video says it all.
This is an awesome cover of a great song and legend, and I don't care what anyone says. This the best cover I've ever heard.. hands down. I'd bet Jimi would approve.
Face melted, Mind Blown! ATHENS GA misses you! You are the last of the Rock gods! I will not DIS,Honor the 60 Legendary bands I have been blessed to see, But Unknown Hinson is THE REAL DEAL!
I ran sound for a lot of bands in Kalamazoo way back then. These guys played one night and put on a great show. I never heard of them before then. Stuart was a real cool laid back guy.
Saw him the one time he was here in L.A. with the Rev. Besides being a genius on the guitar, he is a very genuine and humble man. I got to spend a few minutes backstage with him and he was a gentleman.
Loved seeing you in my home town every Halloween and miss it hope your still doing great I lost respect for someone I thought the world of a while back and it wasn't you
Jay Baker they're all copies of successful companies body shapes from what I've seen, so it seems logical to me that they copied a rick. and all the reverends that I've seen seem to have P-90's in them as well.
Well, Reverend has a few familiar shapes. The Tom Anderson eastsider is a tele, but for the most part Reverend makes a lot of original designs. They do use a ton of p 90s but they don't make a Rick copy. I would say most of what they do would be derivative but not "copies".".
He be playing dazed and confused in the middle of it all 😂

It's hard to play Hendrix songs well, but holy crap: Doing Voodoo Chile on a Rickenbacker 620 is like some kind of sick Evel Knievel stunt.

Saw him live. UH is a very underrated guitar player. He can shred with the best of them.
Ya, I'd bet Jimi himself would say ya.
Not underrated to professionals. Every time he played Nashville, sold out with every hot shot player in town and every other player on down the line.
The character belies the man. He was a music teacher and a musician he knows a thing or two.
And on a damn Rick, too.
Saw him in K.C. he's a bad MFer
