- I made a stop at the old Indiana farm to try driving the G-Wagon through the original bottomless sinkhole. Very interesting results indeed.

I have to say that I’ve been a mechanic since 1975 and I actually felt bad for this G Wagon but once again thank again for the entertainment.
Man... between the sand dunes and it surviving a dunk, the G Wagon is one impressive vehicle. Sure, they cost a LOT... but the sand dune launches? VERY FEW vehicles engineered for sand do as well as this G Wagon. Some pretty impressive driving on those dunes as well. I really wondered if he was gonna roll it. NOPE.

America built the jeep, yes I do love it, the straight 6 4.O was great, but now idiots have drove the cost up so it's not even fun anymore, I would by a susiki side kick or something to have fun 4 wheeling. The Gwagon was made for military to, but Germans make cars pretty reliable
Honestly never thought much of a G wagon, but this thing is surprisingly tough..i feel a tiny bit of sadness for it
They are tough machines, I had a 1980s one, drove a bit like a tractor, used it for off-road recovery. However it was SLOW, hitting 60mph was a challenge but I did drag a 18 tonne truck sideways with it.
I’m impressed that it’s still fairly tough. The old ones were obviously very different vehicles but it feels like Mercedes tried to stick to keeping them tough and usable whilst also slapping in a big V8 and making them luxury inside. While these don’t appeal to me much, you gotta admire the effort.
You should check out the factory where the build them. Think of the G-Wagon as the Dictator’s Hummer H1.
